    Thank you so much for this review. I just wanted to tell you that I was at an engage camp last week. We were told about these paddles coming out and one of the guys there said “I’ll wait until after the pb studio review first”

    Absolutely love Engage and the Elliott's. The fact all the paddles are handmade, the customer service has always been phenomenal, they put a lot of love into their brand.

    I was anxiously awaiting this review. Actually wondered why Engage felt the need to come out with another top tier model after their Pursuit PRO had been given great reviews. Really enjoying my Engage Pursuit Pro MX 6.0! Thanks for the terrific reviews, you are my go to RUclipsr on paddle reviews!❤️

    I play the ruby at 8.3 and the gearbox pro power and I'm in Florida on vacation, so I stopped by and hit the 14MM Pro1 both at 7.8 oz and loved it. Bought 2. Fast then the ruby at 8.3Oz and just as much control. Sweetspot is smaller, but power, pop and control is there. I don't feel weak in the handle, so I understand what chris is saying, but the paddle was great for my game and I play 5.0 doubles and singles. Paddle works for both.

      Are these a lot poppier and harder to reset with compared to the DBD 16 (supposed to be similar to Ruby)? I’m right at 4.0 and test drove the Pursuit Pro EX and EX 6.0 for two weeks, but kept popping up resets. I ended up going back to the DBD 16 and am happy resetting with that.
      I’ve been leaning toward the Black Diamond Infinity for similar control to, but faster hands than DBD. But the Pro1 6.0 would be more power/pop, elongated shape over my DBD.
      Maybe I just need the elongated DBD/BD if and when they come out. 😂

    This sounds very interesting in that a somewhat power paddle with control. The rush to power isn’t an end all and be all. With power comes lack of control. I’ve always had a hard time with engage edge guards breaking so I left them as it was a pain. Not sure if the matte edge guard solved that major issue.

    I drank the Kool-Aid and pre ordered one, God help me. I think I'll call tomorrow and pre return it. I currently play with the Pursuit Pro MX 6.0 but, I had to totally rework it. Added lead to all 4 corners and lots more to the sides to get the stability and power I wanted. It's up around 9 oz now. Took the cushined grip tape off, it just felt too mushy. The side plates were this cheap thin plastic package strapping so I cut some 1/32" birch plywood to fit and glued it on with RC 56 glue. The handle was too big and rounded so I sanded down the balsa for an octagon shape. Now I can index it by feel and the Yonnex super grap tape gives it a solid, more connected feel and the size is just right 4.25". Now it's something I would take to a serious game but it's been scheduled to be beat to death on my ball machine because my Legacy Pro is still better.

    I bought the pro 6.0 and hate the handle, otherwise I liked the paddle. Gave up on it because of the grip. Have the Ruby, BD, DBD, and Hurache X, so can’t bring myself to spend $260 for a better grip. Probably going to wait for the new Joola before I make future purchasing decisions on a power paddle. Appreciate your review, thanks!

    Would love a video that quickly compares all the Engage paddles, I'm super confused between the difference of all their paddles. Pro1, EX, MX, 6.0, Pro what?!

    • @lazyhusband
      @lazyhusband 2 дня назад

      EX - standard shape
      MX - elongated shape
      6.0 - 16mm thickness
      Non 6.0 - 13mm thickness
      Pursuit Pro line came out first and then Pro1 line came out. Different core. Grip size, length, swing weight and edge guard also changed between the two lines.

    The new Joolas sound too advanced for me and take awhile to tame. The Gearbox Power I own but I’m not very happy with the control. I think the Engage may be a step back in power but the swing weight will be easy on my elbow and I’ll get more control perhaps.

    I’ve been playing with a Vatic Pro Flash 16 mm for exactly a year now. I’ve won a couple 3.0 tournaments with it and love the paddle still but I want something new to replenish grit and hopefully get a longer grip. Maybe an elongated also. Do you have any recommendations that come to mind quick?

    Can you please review the new Friday Pickleball Challenger paddle (their new carbon fiber paddle)? 2 for $150 seems like an insane deal for the product described! T700 carbon fiber face, unibody design, and foam-injected walls and handle. Seems too good to be true.

    When you talk about the edge guard makes me wonder if you ever played with this paddles at all, the purpose of the glossy one, they don’t get the ugly scratches when they touch the court surface, when this happened to me the glossy comes off you wipe it and the paddle looks like you never scratch or touch the ground, looks like brand new again I just wonder 💭 for how long the gloss last I don’t even want to find out … scratch yours, wipe and see

    Did the added weight make it feel less “cheap” or up the power above its predecessor? Did you weight it similar to your Thrive fitted paddle?

    • @PickleballStudio
      @PickleballStudio  3 месяца назад +1

      A bit more lead than what I put on the Thrive.
      Adding lead did make it feel more solid overall. Still not as good of a feel as the old ones (in my opinion) but that's largely personal preference. There are probably a lot of people would prefer the more plush feel of the new Pro1.

    • @mlee9049
      @mlee9049 2 месяца назад +1

      @PickleballStudio In my opinion, the old ones have too much power, considering the swing weights. The high swing weights of the old ones make it difficult to fully capitalize on their power.
      Also the game is getting a lot faster at the net. The old versions are not that quick at the net. Hopefully, the newer versions have solved this.

      You must not have played with any of their recent paddles. The Pursuit Pro is easily a top 5 or 10 paddle. I don’t think any paddle is worth $260 but you can easily find a discount to bring it down. It’s definitely worth $200.
