The untamed is my favourite chinese drama of all time and my most favourite overall drama from the past 6 years. Its THAT good. Seriously i love it. Its on shared no. 1 of all time faves. Im still not over all the actors terrific performance. That might have been the best casting in the history of film production. Like every single actor is casted perfectly for their role, its insane. And Xiao Zhan just swallowed the soul of wei wuxian for the filming. Truely a masterpiece. I think i have to rewatch again.

Ok, I haven't seen any of the other dramas you mentioned on the list but I strongly agree with these commenters here that The Untamed was the best thing I watched this year after Ashesh of Love bc I watched that late. I can't get over how amazing the story and the actors were and it turned out surprisingly successful indeed. I love everything about the drama- from the story, the osts, to the casts and of course, the funny behind the scene videos of XiaoZhan and WangYiBo. It is definitely my favorite drama as of this year and I can't wait to watch it for the fourth time!
Goodbye My Princess is my favorite this year. The OST and the acting really elevated this drama. The male lead especially is such a well acted, well fleshed out interesting character for this type of story. It is unfortunate that many will not give this drama a try or with a low rating because of the tragedy. I think suitable endings for a plot/story is more important.
Looks like Untamed should have been number 1. Considering all the comments every one preferred and loved this drama serious compared to the number 2 & 1 drama series. And to be honest it hit all the right notes, the story, the costumes, the acting and chemistry with all the cast members was just fantastic!

I am a big Untamed Fan, but the Longest Day in ChangAn is absolutely phenomenal in terms of its production values and acting. It was also a great insight into the culture of the Tang Dynasty at its height. Like Marcus said, it was probably the highest producgion values I had ever seen in a CDrama, and the ending was pretty satisfactory and logical too 🤣
The only one I've seen from this list is Goodbye My Princess. While watching it I had a love and hate relationship with the drama, but it was one that stuck with me even after. The more I thought about it the more I love it. Especially the actors. They're so good.
When I wanted to read a c-novel that made me cry, I found Eastern Palace (Goodbye my Princess novel) and it fulfilled its purpose QwQ. That's why I love the drama adaptation. It's so good.

I'm surprised "Goodbye My Princess" wasn't top 4. I was also tsken a back that "The Untamed" (3) and "Love and Destiny" (2) were switched, given that The Untamed skyrocketed in popularity both local and international. But I do agree with your comment on what others say about Love and Destiny. It was indeed mixed feelings at first but if you're able to stick with it a few more eps afterwards, you'll be going on a marathon to finish it. Lol.
As a fan of Love and Destiny I find it annoying that people keep saying how the untamed should ranked higher and how L&D doesn't deserve the rate it gets. Respect, people, respect. It's got that rate for good reasons. It has fans and they love it.

But it doesn't mean that LaD was any inferior. Both dramas were on point with their cast, story and visuals! But if you were to take away the factor of bias and look at rumors and anticipation, the untamed has been a fan favorite since the novel and animation days. So the hype was really up there. I've seen people who think it gets rated high only because of the huge fan pool of the original novel... you know, snorting people who deem fans as a subjective source when it comes to the rates. But tbh, if it wasn't a well made adaptation, the same fan pool would have killed it already. It's not better for LaD, though. It's an original show thus doesn't have any fan pool before airing, yet its haters are not less. And for some unknown reason, almost all fan cuts of this show is continuously being taken down. It almost looks like some mysterious power is preventing the show from being popular. Fans become kind of protective over the show because of these. I love LaD, but I have to admit that the longest day in chang an deserves the first place. It starts intriguing and fast paced(a good example on how to grab audience's attention). I don't watch a lot of Chinese dramas, mostly prefer Hollywood productions and K-dramas but because of The Untamed, my hubby and I attempted more Chinese dramas. I think the last Chinese drama we loved was Love 020 and that was some years back. Loved The Untamed. The acting was superb , characters well rounded, costumes gorgeous despite the less then impressive CGI , editing and fight scene choreography. Tried but dropped Love and Destiny , Love and Immortality and The Legends but well, may give Love and Destiny another try. Untamed is my most loved costume drama of the year. I’ll probably finished watching Novoland Eagle Flag andLove & Destiny. Lovely Swords Girl is a great costume romcom with some quirky comedies between the 2 leads. Something different from all the costume dramas. Started watching the new XuKai Once Upon a Time in LingJian Mountain, so far it’s great. I love action and fantasy mixed in.
The untamed...2019 chinese tv series of my imagination 🥰 kind of unique, ticklish in the imagination in an akward way. Lol actors are natural and good. Not OA and trying hard even in a childish way like wei wuxian’s act. I just love him and the other characters. Even the villains, i love them. Good looks of the actors are “a” plus too. 😂🥰

I must admit, I have not seen many costume dramas for 2019...but I'm still ride or die for my 2017 Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms! lol...Nothing has blown me out of the water like that drama. People seem ridiculously biased towards The Untamed which i liked but prefer the Donghua version. I agree with majority of the lists but my own personal favs are Goodbye by Princess, Arsenal Military (UNDERRATED) and The Great Craftsman.

I wish they showed his face though, maybe that's why i'm feeling heart broken because i didn't see his face but at the same time happy because they are together again, i really don't know how i feel until now 😥😥😥. Untamed the best costume drama imo, also love Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre but it wasn’t as good as Romance of The Condor Heroes or Legend of The Condor Heroes so The Untamed still #1. I didn’t finish The Legend because it was too slow of a storyline and not much action but love the 2 main actors also didn’t finish Novoland because imo the storyline kind of went in a loop where the same things happened

I don't watch a lot of Chinese dramas, mostly prefer Hollywood productions and K-dramas but because of The Untamed, my hubby and I attempted more Chinese dramas. I think the last Chinese drama we loved was Love 020 and that was some years back. Loved The Untamed. The acting was superb , characters well rounded, costumes gorgeous despite the less then impressive CGI , editing and fight scene choreography. Tried but dropped Love and Destiny , Love and Immortality and The Legends but well, may give Love and Destiny another try. Thanks Marcus and oh, I started following you Thanks to renewed interest in Chinese dramas because of The Untamed.

I agree that "The Longest Day in ChangAn" was an amazing masterpiece. Full of action and excellent actors. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I can't wait to watch it again. Great job everyone!
For me the untamed is best drama this year because they don't have love team or kissing screens just to make the rating more,untamed all men's but they show all the emotions that the viewers felt too.

For me the Untamed will the best Drama ever. I've never been so in love with the drama so much like I did for this. Xiaozhan & Wangyibo really did a great job. N thanks to this drama for making my summer the best summer of my life. I can't never explain in words cause for me the Untamed is not just a drama but it's beyond that n it's so special to me because through this drama I came to know abou Xiaozhan, the man whom I'm head over heels in love now. ❤️❤️

Untamed is my most loved costume drama of the year. I’ll probably finished watching Novoland Eagle Flag andLove & Destiny. Lovely Swords Girl is a great costume romcom with some quirky comedies between the 2 leads. Something different from all the costume dramas. Started watching the new XuKai Once Upon a Time in LingJian Mountain, so far it’s great. I love action and fantasy mixed in.

The untamed...2019 chinese tv series of my imagination 🥰 kind of unique, ticklish in the imagination in an akward way. Lol actors are natural and good. Not OA and trying hard even in a childish way like wei wuxian’s act. I just love him and the other characters. Even the villains, i love them. Good looks of the actors are “a” plus too. 😂🥰

I must admit, I have not seen many costume dramas for 2019...but I'm still ride or die for my 2017 Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms! lol...Nothing has blown me out of the water like that drama. Princess Agents and Ashes of Love are my runners up... Hopefully I can find time to view some 2019's....:) Love ya Markypooh!!

#TheUntamed all the way, can't stop thinking about Wei Ying smile when he heard Lan Wangji's voice at the end. I wish they showed his face though, maybe that's why i'm feeling heart broken because i didn't see his face but at the same time happy because they are together again, i really don't know how i feel until now 😥😥😥. I'm actually crying while typing this whole thing. Please, let there be #theuntamed2 please.

The Untamed is probably the best drama one can come across.... not because it's exceptionally good story-wise or acting-wise... but it's a classic and you know a classic when you watch one... it's like the Shakespeare of dramas... even if you're not into something like that, you should watch it to know the true essence of what a drama should have....

Untamed the best costume drama imo, also love Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre but it wasn’t as good as Romance of The Condor Heroes or Legend of The Condor Heroes so The Untamed still #1. I didn’t finish The Legend because it was too slow of a storyline and not much action but love the 2 main actors also didn’t finish Novoland because imo the storyline kind of went in a loop where the same things happened
