A lot more ghost notes than you can hear on the album! Gar was such a talented thrash drummer with a jazzy feel to his playing! Lucky to have seen him live on this tour so many years back. RIP Gar.

Still better than 99.9% of metal drumming out there! What a talent. Unfortunately most non drummers won't ever appreciate Gar's talent and influence on the genre. That double bass/ride groove he is playing is so absurdly clean (on accoustic drums without triggers), then the fill he plays coming out of that groove 😮
Including the tempo change with the fill 😅
I love how Gar accented the hats, gave the song some very subtle and unique feels.
Sounds like they added in a recording of a snare hit mixed with reverb or echo played backwards and added in post production to enhance the original drum track
These drums sound acoustically perfect. Everything is so balanced.

Studio effect, but you can get a similar sound with a buzz roll, atleast that's the way I try to imitate that (because ai also think that it sounds cool af)

Yes, they sound a little different in the album mix. However, this is the original track.
Most older drum tracks have a lot more reverb than you think.
