Valve should pay you to make a begginner series, honestly. Getting used to the basic mechanics is the biggest learning gap for new dota players. But they enter the game worrying about hero selection, itemazation, countering other heroes, etc etc etc, and shit gets too overwhelming, so they quit. And not everyone wants to get on youtube and learn about a new game. These videos are pure golden.

They don't need to pay him anything, because he is already doing it for them for free lol. Their whole system revolves around community making free content, that they gonna sell for probably thousands if not millions of dollars later.

6,6k hours in and FINALLY I started using it. Sometimes. Aside from the aggro cooldown trick, been using it to harass much longer
Granted, I've mostly been playing support, but still, at 5-6k there are people who are helpless against creep aggro tricks

    Honorable mention.
    Skills dont attract aggro
And some skills are an enhacement to your right clicks. e.g frost arrow. Burning spear. Fire arrow. Etc...
As long as you use those by casting them with their hotkey. And not right clicking with modifier on.
Creeps and towers will ignore you no matter how bad youre abusing their hero.
Its the right click itself that draws aggro.
If you will be casting right clicks instead you get to harras without taking damage from creeps or towers.

  • @shresthaditya9731
    @shresthaditya9731 Год назад +2

Aggro Range is 500 if you are not in aggro range then tower/creep will not attack you
If there more than one unit in aggro range then they will attack a target based on the following:
1.If the target attacks an allied unit or them. If the both units are attacking then they will choose to attack the closest one.
    2. If no one is attacking then they will aggro the closest unit
    3. But if you issue an attack command on enemy hero and then the sensor is triggered and if you are in 500 range then creep will start to chase and attack you and they will chase you for 2.5 seconds after that they will reset and follow above 2 steps and this sensor has a cooldown of 3 seconds and so if you issue a attack command on enemy hero and you weren't in 500 range then you cant aggro the creeps also hitting your own creeps resets the aggro
    4. Towers range is 700 and it's aggro range is 500 and it same rules as creeps

My 3rd attempt at trying to learn dota in 4 years, and this has been the best run. Found your series, found a couple of friends, and now I am committed to learning Dota. The level of detail you go into is absolutely fantasimal.
I have only been spamming a few heros (Axe, Lion, Witch Doc), and my biggest fear is: What item should I make next? What can this enemy (or ally) hero do?
Let alone, What item should I make for/against this hero, situational items, etc. I expect you'll make a video to help us with that. :)
Also, I had a question: As a rookie, should I play mid lane, or should I leave it to someone who knows what they are doing? Thanks.

    • @BSJ

Each hero has a different sensor. There is no range. If you attack an enemy every creep on the map checks to attack you and goes on 3 sec CD for you

Hi bsj, i was wondering if you could do a video on itemization for this series. This came after a game i played the other day on naix, i switched lanes lvl1 with my offlane clock because the enemy offlane matchup was hard for me, either way i ended up owning the lane bcause the am chose a bad trade lvl1 against me and my support lina alone, eventually forcing him into the jungle at around min 5. As the 8min mark approaced, i saw my team was doing very well, we literally won 3 lanes and i was having a free lane at top bcause none ganked me. So i had lots of gold stored up and i decided because i was soo free and my team was stomping that i would go for a greedy build, that is, maelstrom into armlet into s&y, I even considered BF as an option instead of maelstrom. the enemy team consisted of mid luna, support sk, pos5 ogre, offlane sb, and antimage.
So given the enemy draft as well as the awesome start i got off to, what would have been your thought process on itemization?
We ended losing the game😁 and i understand that it was probably because of my misplay on some parts of the map but in regards to itemization, i think i messd up because i went MKB into satanic after. Mkb because i feared am building butterfly and i didnt mind having more dmage, and satanic because i felt like having more survivability which was needed in the later stages of the game. I eventually ran out of slots for a lockdown item like abbysal or skadi and felt like i was chasing ppl like a headless chicken with all their kite.
I hope to see a fundamentals vid on itemization,
    Thank you for amazing content!

BSJ maybe i missed it but there is an important mechanic specifically for mid lane. The creeps wont aggro you when you A click an enemy if they dont have vision of you when you issued the command. You can find out if they have vision by standing on the cliff and A clicking the creep out of vision but within 500 range. If your range creep is attacking from the cliff there is a small radius of vision around it for the enemy. So make sure you dont stand next to the range creep.

2k hours is for new players, lucky you guys have bsj learning this stage at an early timestamps. some of my friend have 20k hours from dota 1 and dota 2 learned this things so late because of not having bsj at that time

knowing there are bunch of 4k and 5k player that do not even know how to reset their lane with aggro really baffles me , some of them even start hitting the creep and complaining to support why the lane is so pushed out meanwhile its all their own doing to begin with , some players just having inflated MMR

20:20 Thats not true. You can deaggro tower when youre in 500-700 range by Aclicking your teammates hero that is also in 500-700 range but hes closer then you are.
