If you want live Gojira, I cannot suggest their Live at Red Rocks performance highly enough. He has a phenomenal solo in that concert, as well as a fantastic overall performance throughout.
reminds me a lot of simon philips' solo style, layered tribals, ostinato, odd meters, syncopations... especially "Simon Phillips drum solo - TOTO live 1999" - the finale is a blast :)

My guy you absolutely unequivocally must react to Sarcophagus by Nile. Literally some of the catchiest, slow death metal drums you'll ever hear or your money back guaranteed
I like the kit set up . The cymbals are very low . Normally an engineer in a studio will have a fit if the cymbals are not "ten feet " above the toms for separation. This recording proves there are no rules . I think I'll be lowering my cymbals back to where they're comfortable now ! Even though I'm also the engineer ! Peace and love brother 👍🏻☮❤ ps this guy has feel. 😉
I think the lower cymbals might be a relatively recent change for Mario? I've mostly known him over the years to have his crashes and china at head height.

Not dynamic at all. We call this "sound diarrhoea" in Dutch. Technically ok, but it's going absolutely nowhere. And NO, I cant play this. It's just very bland. If this guy had tuned his kit less death metally it would have sounded better. Maybe.
