Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to check out our saxophones! You sound great. Sorry the T-Shirt didn’t fit over the bulging muscles 🙃
Thank you for the review. I really appreciate you playing some long tones so we can truly hear how the sax sounds. In a lot of demos they try and show how fast they can play, which does nothing for me.
Nice review, Nigel. You get a gorgeous warm tone on that horn! I would definitely like to try one myself…..but I’m on the other side of the Atlantic. (Haha) so I will wait until til they come my way. But definitely on my radar!
How does it go up against the big bell? Im in 2 minds as i am a firm believer in. If it looks so good, you can't walk past it without blowing it, then it's the right horn for you. I love the amber finish, also the ruby red finish of the stone series.
@@pimeye I'm not sure of the weight of a MKVI however the SC Raw weighs 3.6 kgs. which I believe is quite a heavy instrument if that is a consideration.
Good afternoon nice looking and sounding horn. Could you please tell me if they have adjustment screws on the right and left hand stacks. Thanks in advance. I once read Sirvalor Said saying he would never buy a sax without the high F sharp key. I usually add also the adjustment screws to that phrase.
Great review and now I'm really thinking of getting one. A couple of things, do both the horns feel the same weight or is one finish heavier than the other? Also, did I see that some scratches had already appeared on the side of the case with the grab handles, or were those artefacts?
Glad you enjoyed the video. Both Saxes feel the same weight. Also the cases have the plastic wrapping still on them which is what I think you can see (not scratches). Thanks for watching. 👍🎷
The intonation in the upper registers is really bad! I'm surprised you didn't notice that. Obviously, if you had more time playing it you could probably improve it with your embouchure but a lot of beginner sax players don't know how to do that.
The Amber Lacquer is the best looking. I’m disappointed with this horn though the keywork is the standard SA80II keywork that is part of the base package at these Taiwanese factories. The body is another big bell like Cannonball, Eastman, and P Mauriat. I was really hoping for a more original offering beyond just a cool engraving and wire key guards.
Personally I think it plays better than some of the Mauriat horns and the setup on the ones I had was excellent. Have a play of one if you get the chance.
Hi Ben, Thank you for your feedback! We explored various key concepts during the prototype phase, but most players preferred the classic Selmer Paris design. Therefore, we focused on refining the setup to surpass other Taiwanese models. We also experimented extensively with different necks, bells, and bores to achieve the desired sound. I hope you get a chance to try one out! All the best 🎷

Ha! Thanks for letting me check out this sax.
Thanks for doing this type of review as its fun to sse what's new out there and I also view this as educational!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching 👍🎷
I love the vintage amber finish. It looks gorgeous, and it shows off the amazing engraving more.
I agree!! Thanks for watching🎷🎷
I preferred the Amber Lacquer sound wise and lookwise. But different strokes for different folks. Good review Nigel. Sound good!
Cool. Thanks for watching.
Wow, these look amazing and sound even better!! Beauties!! Hard to choose!!! Awesome review Nigel!
Cheers @lucacerolini
What a great saxophone and overall package. Thanks for the review Nigel
Glad you enjoyed it🙏

No worries! Glad you enjoyed the review.
The Duke Sounds great❤
Sax sounds great I like the raw one the key gards look like Martins
I love the sound good quality, especially in the lower register
Cheers
The Amber gets my vote.

Thanks! Hope you get a chance to try one as some point. Thanks for watching. 👍
Great video! Gets me want to buy one of these!
Hope you get to try one Arne!
I love the amber lacquer but Nigel could make it sound good even if they coated it with bubble wrap!
Ha! Thanks for watching.
Nice review 👌
Thanks. Hope it was helpful.
Vintage Amber.
A very good bargain for that price.
Nice review, perhaps compare it to Trevor James the Raw tenors
Great idea.
Nice sound

Good question. I’d be interested to hear a comparison 👍
Looks and sounds great but very happy with my T J Raw.
That’s another excellent sax.
I'm undecided between getting the Atlantic or the Signature Custom RAW. Is the RAW much heavier than a MkVI?

@@gib321 Many thanks.

Great question. I’d suggest reaching out to the guys at sax.co London to check. Thanks for watching.

Love the case but what I need to know is how does it compares to a Cannonball A4 ? Have the money to buy but I just can’t decide between the 2
Great question - I haven’t played the Cannonball in a while. Another excellent sax though.
I like tone the amber better
Cool.
Is heavy?
Weight?

It seemed less obvious on the amber lacquer horn.
