It's so beautiful, so glad you both enjoyed your time there, as for your garden, it takes time for your soil biology to build up and every year it will get better and better, I remember 15 years ago when I did my first garden the harvest was really small, after a few years it became so lush, each year is different, if you have rosemary you might have to dig it up and put it in a pot and bring it inside, depends on your variety.🍁🍁🍁🍂🍂🍂🌲🌲
It really was a blast! Good to know about the soil, very cool! I do have to go get the rosemary and plant my new rose in the ground. The weather has been crazy, going to be almost 70 this week so I have some more time :)
I really enjoyed this and the garden chat was great. Your herbs and broccoli looked especially beautiful. The grow bags get dried out quickly, you might try clustering them together and piling mulch around them. Your sugar scrub looks so good, what a treat for the senses.

leave your carrots in the ground through the winter. They'll survive, and all the plant's energy goes into the root instead of the leaves, making the carrots really sweet!

Are you going to double up your rain buckets? is there a way to harness the river water i wonder?! a long hose with suction idk but yea, our garden wasnt spectacular minus our cannabis haul. We went all out for our wedding in 2018. then got burned out through the years and stopped adding nutrients lol so yea this year was a bit stunted! big plans for manure this fall and compost in the spring. i love the fall weather in NE right now. i was luckily driving south from the Lee exit off of the pike to Salisbury CT and I must have been driving at absolute peak. it was sooo beautiful. such a golden glow like stained glass on 41. just wow. sending love and peace to you guys this autumn!

I cannot wait to have a compost pile of my own going. The weather sure has been lovely here and it looks like its going to continue to stay warm for at least another week :)
Have you heard of Huw Richards? His new book 'The Self-Sufficieny Garden' is an amazing book about year round food growing. I highly recommend it. I'm sure it will benefit you, especially now that you have a new garden area.
