    Best video ever on removal, no messing around, just straight forward instructions! Thanks!

    I did it using your instructions. I was quoted such a high price, that I thought it would be worth giving a try myself. It worked! My new speakers were not even the right size and the housing I also purchased didn't fit. Your video helped me so much!

    Thanks. I replaced both front lower speakers using your method. I used 6.5" Sonys. Our 2009 Rav4 speakers had 7 ribs that needed to be cut. I used a jigsaw that did the job well.

    Did mine exactly the way you did it. Worked great! Just took me longer. Sony 6.5". 2012 Rav4. Also just stuck the wires in the white plastic connector from the door and taped them. works great. Thank you.

    I don't know why so many people are so cheap that they won't spend the $13 to get the correct speaker mounts. And the $4 for the speaker direct wire adapter.

      If they're not needed then we can save the $$, unless you want to save/sell the old speakers...Of course the stores would like you to buy everything you possibly can, but if you're handy you can always save money...

    Since this is a shop hopefully is not....you just scratch the door when trying to drill the rivet.

  • @nobass_stub1394
    @nobass_stub1394 Год назад +1

    Yikes... it all looked just a little too rough of an install to me... Drill slipping when removing the rivet, dropping the door fascia panels onto the bitumen, rough cutting the molded speaker fixture, and self tapping screws into the inner door panel without checking for rear clearance. All in all an rough as guts installation. Id suggest to go to Five Star Car stereo Channel and see how its done properly to protect your car when upgrading the stereo. 🤔

    Good clear video. I was thinking of replacing both the lower and uppers. Are the highs less clear if you just put a two way speaker in the door and disconnect the upper?

    • @45eno
      @45eno 5 лет назад +2

      I would imagine so less clear. I just replaced my Miata speakers and realized how much easier a single 2way speaker would have been. Far less hassle and install would be 5mins. I am about ready to upgrade my 2011 Rav4 and I found some $450 Focals for $100 used locally so I am going to deal with the hassle so I can get the max sound performance up front. If you want simple I think you will still have great sound but that tweet sure won't be pointed at you like it would be in the factory spot. I did find on Amazon some tweeter brackets that work with OEM holes. Spendy at $25 though but will simplify the install so I bought them anyway.

    • @dingchavez1960
      @dingchavez1960 2 года назад +1

      You can always replace rivets with screws, but if you've followed these instructions, you've already completely killed your factory speakers and wouldn't want to reinstall them.

    • @dingchavez1960
      @dingchavez1960 2 года назад

      The rivets are the issue, they're made of metal, and they're not screws. If you can take them off without a drill, sure. If not, then no.

    • @nobass_stub1394
      @nobass_stub1394 Год назад

      YES ... Just use a Pneumatic Chisel as it too will possibly ruin the inner door skin ... LOL Or go cave man style and use an actual Hammer and chisel. Good luck on the repair bill !

    • @twobitboat
      @twobitboat Год назад

      My same thought. I paused the video to take a closer look and it appears to have been been screwed to the old frame with a bugle head drywall screw that was not even screwed down all the way.
      I’d suggest using either a self tapping truss head screw used for fastening sheet metal together or a small machine screw and nyloc nut to fasten them together.
      A bead of adhesive or double stick foam tape could also help prevent vibration.
      I’d also trade in the Ryobi drill for a more reputable brand of tool if I want to be taken seriously.

      What's the problem? Will they not sound right?

    • @CarlosAnglada
      @CarlosAnglada 3 года назад +3

      @@joey4277 I'm sure the new speakers will sound fine. However, the factory configuration is a "component" distribution: you have s single "woofer" driver at the bottom and dedicated "tweeters" at the top of the door, close to head level. Using a coax speaker is kind of a step down from the factory configuration if you will.

    • @cwalter5
      @cwalter5 3 года назад +2

      @@CarlosAnglada it’s worse than that. The tweeters in your new speakers won’t even be used unless you remove the crossover filtering that feeds the highs to the tweeters and the mids to the woofers. Otherwise the factory installation would sound like garbage with your woofers and tweeter both trying to act like full range speakers.

    • @nobass_stub1394
      @nobass_stub1394 Год назад

      @@cwalter5 All excellent points, but the excellent installation of the speaker mounting will cause more noise than the speakers themselves KeK! 😆 Just insert key and drive... Tada Speaker Noise!
