I love that idea, in a world with literal magic everywhere the subtle lore about music being the very first magic. Something that feels so mundane compared to the feats magic can accomplish yet something we can relate to in real life. We may not have magic in our lives but music lifts moods, manipulates emotion, compels us, doing what could be described as a kind of magic.
@@andylin9523 yep. Even some older media like dark Crystal it’s origins starts off with a song. From the comic origins the crystal traveled through space and when finding a solar system that is ideal it started singing. I love that there's a collection of 10 normally dressed people round the bed (relatively speaking) and then you've got literal Darth f****** Vader with them 😂
I love that somebody noted this game getting a T rating despite the violence and stuff means the only reason the other games of Atlus only get an M... because of Mara. Thanks, Mara.
@@Foogi9000 If you've never played an Atlus game before, Mara is a demon/persona/other that tends to show up across Atlus games. It's... there's no other way to say this, it's a dick in a chariot. Legit. A big green dick in a chariot. China censors it by giving it a rice farmer's hat.

But Mara is a constant between Atlus games and is a giant green piece of male anatomy in a chariot. To be fair Dale is a not-so-common name in Wales, where the mythological concept of the Fae are from too. The fact that it's also an anagram of Elda is just the cherry on top.

I'm at the final stretch of my own first playthrough, playing on hard, and it makes a huge difference. I'm looking forward to seeing you going through the story, Jesse!
I'm making myself actually finish P3 Reload before I get this, but very much looking forward to it. I'll enjoy watching your take on the early hours of it.
I named my protagonist Hieronymus since the humans are based off Hieronymus Bosch's work. It fits in really well in the text with all the other proper nouns in the game.

@@ryanm.907 Don't think that's true. Whatever you choose takes 2 points from the opposite stat and gives them to the one you chose. Luck takes 1 from every stat and gives you +4 too luck
@WD_Gaster66 it may depend on what difficulty you play on but in normal it appeared to have given me 5 str when I made my selectio. With no deductions.
@@ryanm.907 Doesn't seem to be the case. If you see at 1:02:02, with Jessie's first level up, the Stats are 6(+1 from the level up), 5, 7, 3, 5. So he got his +2 to Endurance and -2 to Agility, and he's playing on Normal
I get that the game is trying to explain that fantasy can be an effective means of stimulate people to entertain idealistic or alternative ideas and strive for a better future in real life, but someone needs to introduce More to works of fiction that depict a shittier world for the fun of it, lol. That kind of fiction is valid too and absolutely shouldn't be given the power to change da world. "Ahh yes, o troubled traveler, thou hast awokened to the power of peak escapist schlock."
So the player character looks like Marth of the Fire Emblem series, but is a commoner in modern-ish times (with fantasy elements here and there), and has a fairy like Link does (...and many SMT protags too). Interesting

I wish there was more of this playthrough
"What is this game gonna be, dude?"
*Me making the Jesse thumbnail face alone in my room*
A metaphor

Please continue this playthrough jesse, I already fell in love with this game!
Ah yes The Vision of Escaflowne...I watched it on VHS, back when you only got two episodes per VHS tape.
With so many shared voice actors between metaphor and ff16 I am feeling right at home❤
The only "Louis" I know in SMT games is "Louis Cypher" aka Lucifer, so I'm betting on Lord Louis being Lucifer
His design really looks like SMT Lucifer, too, so it's a safe bet lol
His narrative role is that of Lucifer considering he attempts to do the same thing SMTV Lucifer did which was to kill the ruler of everything and ascend to his throne.
This game looks amazing, and you are absolutely the person I want to see playing it until I can afford it myself. Thank you
honestly, if you're planning on buying it eventually. I don't recommend watching it first. There are as usual. TWISTS!
That soundtrack hits hard. I like it. I got to get this game now
I was not expecting an Escaflowne call out! I loved that anime!
Jesse, the Archetypes definitely give guymelef vibes.
It's also reminding me a little of white knight chronicles
Thank you for reminding me of Escaflowne. I loved that show!
Woophoo been waiting for this!

I'm looking forward to seeing you going through the story, Jesse!
Been waiting on this for a while
I LOVE this game so far. I am SO EXCITED TO WATCH YOU PLAY.
Absolutely love this playthrough - reminds me of the Ni No Kuni playthough I've missed so much!
The protag and the prince are very pretty. There are gonna be so many fanfics
The soundtrack has some proper bangers in it! Loving this game so far
Based on what I've played through already, I think Jesse is going to love this game. What an absolutely bonkers masterpiece ❤

this game is SOOOOOO good as someone quite far into it! I can’t wait to watch jesse play through it too :^))))
Thank you for playing this jesse, i wanna pick it up but i wasnt sure, but now im SOLD!!!

Canonically the protagonist is named Will

Just dropped a sub man. I got gifted this game !! Pretty awesome
Yes this game is amazing I hope you love it as much as I do.
I think Jesse picked almost all the same responses to things as I did in my game, aside from the answer to the recruitment questionnaire
fun stuff, hope to see more cheers

Now truest question will jessy do full lp
I would like to know as well, before i start to watch
Alas poor Dale, we hardly knew ye

How do you know it's an Atlus game? Mascot companion telling you what to do, and finding the hero within with Persona
Jesse your beard is getting grey T_T I'm 34 and have been watching since i was 21-22
Let me adventure begin
Hey Jessie! Can't watch until after I finish my playthrough, but I will be back! Also please play persona 3 reloaded as well
