2009年10月生まれ。2歳からおもちゃ代わりにドラムを始め、4歳からライブ活動を始める。
5歳で 『かねあいよよか』を結成、幼稚園在籍中の6歳でファーストCDを発売。
作詞作曲、ボーカル、ピアノも担当。ライブやイベントなどこれまでに100本以上のステージを経験。
2018年6月、世界的な女性ドラマーのコンテスト『Hit Like A Girl 2018』の18歳以下の部にて、最年少の8歳でウイークリーチャンピオンとなる快挙を達成。
Led Zeppelinの『Good Times Bad Times』をカヴァー演奏した応募動画は、アメリカのローリングストーン誌やビルボードで特集され、世界中に拡散。
Red Hot Chili Peppersのチャド・スミス、KISSのエリック・シンガー、Sonic Youthのキム・ゴードン、シェリル・クロウ、ショーン・レノンらから称賛される。
国内でも、矢野顕子、佐藤竹善、ハマ・オカモト、亀田誠治、ピエール中野らも驚きとともにSNSでよよかを紹介。
さらにLed Zeppelinのヴォーカリスト、ロバート・プラントもよよかの演奏動画を称賛。
2018年8月11日、国内最大級の野外ロックフェスティバル『RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2018 in EZO』に史上最年少出演。オリジナル曲のほか、Char、奥田民生、KenKen、聡一郎（CROSS ROAD）をゲストに迎え、Led Zeppelinの『Good Times Bad Times』を演奏。
2018年9月11日、さいたまスーパーアリーナで開催された『第27回東京ガールズコレクション2018 AUTUMN/WINTER8』でドラム演奏を披露。3万人の観客を沸かせた。
タイで撮影された世界的スポーツブランド"Nike"のワールドワイドCMに抜擢。セリーナ・ウィリアムズらとの共演。動画再生1500万回。
2018年10月8日、札幌の道新ホールにてアマチュアとして異例の700名チケットソールドアウト。KenKenらをゲストに迎え、全18曲を完奏。
2018年10月21日、東京ビックサイトで開催された国内最大の楽器総合イベント『2018楽器フェア』"ベースの日×ドラムの日 楽器フェア50周年スペシャル"に出演。ベーシストの亀田誠治やドラマーのピエール中野、KOUHEI（4 Limited Szabys）と共演。
同11月29日、札幌のhitaruにてNHK「いまこそ、ひとつに、北海道ライブ」にアマチュアで唯一出演。細川たかし、大黒摩季、AKB48、Littele Glee Monster、SHISHAMO、大泉洋と共演。
大黒摩季のステージでは「ららら」のドラムで参加。
2019年1月、“The Ellen DeGeneres Show”に出演。また、老舗ライブハウス「Whisky A Go Go」にて海外初ライブを大盛況で終える。
2019年4月、Newsweek日本版「世界が尊敬する日本人100人」に選出。
2019年5月、The Ellen DeGeneres Showに異例の2回目の出演。Foo Fightersのデイヴ・グロールからもビデオコメントで賞賛される。

Bonzo crosses generations. On the drums, she couldn't have picked a better rocker. He was the soul of Led Zeppelin. Can't wait until she discovers some of the other great drummers of the last 50 years.

I recently discovered this amazing little dynamo and I stayed up until 4:30am binge watching her videos. I couldn't stop. Some things in life are worth giving up a night's sleep, and witnessing a miracle of talent is definitely up there. I'm her new biggest fan and I look forward to years of watching her grow up and expand musically because I really think there's something extraordinary going on with little Yoyoka.

Yeah, she seems very mature about music at an age where most are playing with toys. She "hears" very well to pick all this up by ear.

"... I try not to overpower the singer... or the guitarist and bass...'' - Yoyoka. Musicality and taste. It's not about playing the most complicated rudiments, or cramming in as many hits in fills, it's about serving the song you are playing. This young prodigy certainly understands how it's properly done. Also, notice in all the songs she covers, when she adds her own flavor to it, it's always extremely tasteful and used sparingly. But all her musical brilliance takes a second seat to the pure joy she exhibits when she's playing. Her taste in music also gives me hope for humanity...
Please don't lose the stick wave at the end of your videos. That is your signature move.

@@Me-xy3jh maybe you are right, i noticed that distantdrums produced this video, so i assume they are responsible for this decision and the wardrobe also, i also didnt notice her usual infectious smile as she was playing. adults making poor decisions for the child, they should let her be her wonderful self!
@@Frank-zs1wk I don't think she looks comfortable in those clothes. She is used to just a cute little shirt, some leggings and a skirt, and of course her little socks. I hope they just let her grow up her way. We all want to protect her. LOL. She is my favorite RUclips person by far.

This girl is truly gifted.
Chad Smith and Flea have been called out. My take as a musician is that we all have an obligation to help someone like this along. Every door needs to open for her if she knocks upon it. Chad? Flea? Contact her. Next time you are in Japan, give her a few hours of your time. Consider it an investment into the future of music. She should be in conversations with groups ranging from Julliard to Kodo. Give talent like this good mentoring and a good musical education, and there are no limits for her. She is going to be a world class beast of a drummer. I doubt anything could stop that actually. Her course is set, clear a path for her.
Led Zepelin should do a show at the Olympics with Yoyoka as the drummer, it'd be fantastic!

Yoyoka is wise beyond her years! Being able to watch her develop as a drummer the past few years has been a real gift. But the greatest gift has been the realization that she is more than a professional drummer , she is a human being like the rest of us and in my humble opinion is one of the finest human beings on RUclips!

I hope she always keeps her happiness and joy which, to me, makes her drumming talent even more enjoyable. She seams to be a beautiful person who is really in tune with her world for a person that age. And who has pickled turnips as their favorite food? I love that her favorite food is something so off the radar.

The best part is her smile, and the obvious JOY she has for drumming. We all know about the stereotypical "genius Asian virtuosos," but so many look downright miserable as they perform, as though it's work they are forced into since age 2. Not Yoyoko. The happiness oozes off of the screen, and we love it! ♥️♥️♥️

Yoyoka, you are a delightful young person. And yes, you are an awesome drummer. I'm sure Mr. Bonham would be amazed at your drumming, and proud of the fact that he has been an inspiration to you. Love Yoyoka! But whoever shot the video to make her look cool, edgy, and disaffected instead of joyful and happy while she was playing made a big misstep, in my opinion. No one can argue that her playing is anything less than a wonder, but the absence of joyfulness robbed it of a lot of the magic that makes Yoyoka transcendent to so many of us! She won't be a young girl forever. Don't rush her to grow out of the wonder. Obviously we saw some of that in the interviews. Let's keep seeing it during the playing, as well!
I think, her dad and friends did this shot on purpose as kind of parody, so does yoyoka as well. What she answers in the video is serious or true but her typical rock star costume and the dark environment is kinda joke and won't last, will return to her usual, happy, dailylife-based video soon.
Excellent point, let's just hope they were being facetious with the atmosphere on this one.

I think it’s the songs that make her happy, and also she’s more obviously happy when a bit less concentration is involved. She is not as obviously happy playing Rosanna as most other things, presumably because she's working harder. This may be an accident. Or it may not. The not waving at the camera may indicate this is intentional, though she certainly still waves now and this was filmed when she was nine.

若年層ドラマーの世界はなかなか競争の激しい中でよよか ちゃんはすでにワールドワイドで有名人になってしまい、ある意味世界的にも一人飛び抜けてしまったわけだが、今後どう成長していくのかまだまだ目が離せない。個人的には、よよか ちゃん以前から応援しているNHKEテレ『ムジカッピコリーノ』出演中の佐藤奏さんとか、Hit Like A Girl 2018チャンピオンの小川友希さんとかと共演してくれたらなぁ、と思ったりしてます。

Just at 9 Yoyoka, sounds like an adult drummer, this interview was incredible, + i'm happy she discovered, John Henry Bonham, his legacy, has been influenced, by a 9 year old Japanese girl prodigy, he would have liked that, i know Robert Plant, was impressed, + his reaction was on you tube, a must to see, thanks Yoyoka, for letting us know, where your head is at musically.

She one of those child prodigies but those normally highlighted are with instruments like piano, violin, or guitar while genius performers of other less popular instruments falls through the cracks. It's nice to see child prodigies being recognized for playing the easily missed and forgotten percussion

I wish I could have taken Yoyoka to see the RAMONES back around late 70s.
I mean, yeah, it's awesome she is name-dropping some of the more famous drummers, who are all amazing, but then I noticed she mentioned Nate Smith in the middle of all of them, too. That's just so amazing to me. She isn't into any specific genre from what I can tell, and genuinely seems to want to have a go at everything. I can't wait to see/listen to her cover some jazz stuff. If she can pull off some Nate Smith grooves, she will join my personal list of favorite drummers!
