🥁Drummer Yoyoka’s Profile🥁
Born in October 2009, she started playing drums at the age of two, played live at four, and formed her family band "Kaneaiyoyoka" at five. At 6 years old, she even released her first CD while in kindergarten.
In addition to drums, Yoyoka sings vocals, plays the piano and is a songwriter. In 2018, at the age of 8, she became the youngest weekly champion in the under-18 category of the international female drummer contest "Hit Like A Girl".
Her application video, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times" was featured on NBC, NPR, in Rolling Stone Magazine and in Billboard and then spread all over the world.
Her drumming prowess has been praised by music legends such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ian Paice( Deep Purple), Roger Taylor(Queen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Sheryl Crow, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer (KISS), Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Hayley Williams (Paramore), Sass Jordan, Tony Royster Jr., Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine) , Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai).
At the age of eight, Yoyoka appeared in Japan's famous rock festival "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL in EZO" as the youngest performer ever and made a surprise appearance on the stage of Fall Out Boy in "Summer Sonic Tokyo" in front of an audience of 20,000. Later, she was the guest drummer for two songs of Cyndi Lauper’s performance at Tokyo Orchard Hall, the last day of her Japan tour.
Yoyoka is endorsed by world-class brands such as Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO, filming well-received commercials in Thailand and New York. At the age of eight, she became the youngest drummer ever to sign an endorsement contract with drum makers Pearl and VIC FIRTH, and has since then also signed with Zildjian, CYMPAD and DW.
She made two appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in LA in January and May 2019 where she was praised by Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters, and later on had a successful live house at the legendary "Whisky A Go Go".
In April 2019, she was selected as one of Newsweek Japan’s "100 Japanese people respected by the world", the youngest in history.
Pearl showcased her talent the 2020 NAMM show in Anaheim the world’s largest musical instruments trade show. She was the youngest female and only Japanese drummer to appear.
The impact of "Yoyoka" continues to spread worldwide. Her favorite drummers are John Henry Bonham, Chris Coleman, Nate Smith, Chad Smith and David Grohl. Her dream is to travel and play sessions with people all over the world.

61歳ですが、ドラムスの完全コピーというものをこの少女の動画で初めて見た気がします。僕はドラムは全然できませんが、むかしバンドやってた時、ドラムスのうまい人とギグると自分のギターパートは適当にしてドラムに見とれてしまったことを思い出します。おわるとドラムの人に叱られました。どうして詰めないのか、押し篭めよ、とか言われて。

Well, all I have to say - and I've been drumming since I was SIX; I'm now 57! - THAT was one of the FINEST performances of "Kill the King" I've ever (EVER!) heard… simply fantastic in every conceivable respect... musically, emotionally and technically... and this girl is how old??? WAIT, my drumming friends and aficionados - until she is TWENTY; the “World of Drums” may never be the same!!! Bravissimo, Yoyoka!

There's not many things that can makes Ritchie smiles but show him this and I bet he'll have a big genuine smile from ear to ear. Oh Cozy your legacy is in very good hands.
He’s probably been trying to find a drummer who can even DO that for the last 20 years. Never heard anyone do those short cymbal hits so well.
Never got to see Rainbow, Blackmore or Cozy. This fills a little of that space.
I saw that live in 77 and it blew like a freight train through your living room...incredible...still gives me goosebumps today....

やっぱりYoyokaにはこういう曲が一番似合いますね。全身から溢れるエナジーがそのままドラムに伝わって、聴く者の心を激（タギ）らせる。最高です。
この曲のドラムカバーを探すと意外なほど少ないから難しいのかな？ほかの方の演奏は曲に入り込めていないので単に曲に合わせて叩いてる感が強い。強くたたくもパワーは曲に伝わらすただノイジーで古臭いサウンドしか生まれない。その点、yoyokaちゃんの演奏は比較するまでもなくピタリと曲の中心に入り込めていて特にボーカルとの掛け合いがピタリと呼吸が合っている。そして緩急自在にドラムを操り、現代のスパイスをふりかけ、半世紀前の音楽を今生まれた音楽のように新鮮に表現する。練習だけでは得られない領域！
YOYOKA さんが譜面に頼らず演奏できる特殊能力の結果だと思っています。同じ暗譜方法でもピアニストの辻井伸行さんも同様に譜面以外の物を暗記して演奏するそうですがオーケストラとの合奏は他の楽器の音の流れを完璧に捉えていないとあの感動の演奏にならないと思います。しかしその暗譜にこの演奏技術と曲想の理解力が備わってこその名演奏ですね。
charleston disappeared, jazz disappeared, blues disappears but rock still lives and will never stop living. Always glad to see young generations perpetuate the legacy.
She is made for and to rock, no doubt about that.

アップされて直ぐ聴きましたがあまりの凄さにコメント書けませんでした、10日間コメントしなかったのは初めてです。【言葉が無い】と言うコメントをよく見かけますが始めから終わりまで全てが完璧で下手な言葉でコメント出来ないって感じでした。10日間毎日聴いていますが聴くほどますます凄みがまして感じます。
共感します。yoyokaちゃんのNEWカバーを初めて聴くとまずは毎回圧倒されますが、さらに繰り返し何回も聴くと段々と深まります。何回聴いても飽きることなく逆に何故優れているのか少しずつ見えてくるのがyoyokaちゃんのプレイです。曲を自分のものに昇華して自信満々にプレイしているからではないでしょうか。練習時間も限られているのだから、曲を聴いて瞬時に自分のものできる才能があるとしか思えません。ぜひ皆さんに1回限りではなく何回も聴いてほしいと思います。

Yes! No matter what she does she does it with TASTE and a sophisticated sense of the details of the style. That’s what makes her a prodigy really, even more than her epic technique.

Ok, only one word comes to mind, “DAMN!”. I’m speechless. I was amazed when this young prodigy was 8 years old wailing on the drums. Now, I’m just shell shocked by her skills and timing. God, help us when she hits 16! Yoyoka is truly a skilled artist. The best part of it all is her fun natured spirit behind the music! The gods of music chose wisely when they settled on Yoyoka and her golden spirit!
She has all she needs now, it's time to join a band and to start creating her own style, I hope she would not get lost among all the different styles of drumming she learnt. She's young, let see how her life will turn, I'm curious. I knew several very skilled guitarist when it came to reproduce but when it came to create their own style, most of them didn't even tried and for those who dare, they found it, it was not very good.

There are thousands of world class great musicians, and vocalists, who never make it out of their bedroom or garage, because they can't write music or lyrics. Think Adele, good singer, but you'll hear better in a local church. Adele wrote lyrics to kill for, that made her a star.
Yoyoka can play other instruments especially that main one for music and lyric writers, the piano. She has shown she likes creating.
We will see, hopefully.

AMAZING!! The cool thing is she get different drummers styles. Not just chops. John Bonham played on the beat or slightly behind etc. Cozy Powell played on top of the beat then add that to the tempo of this song! Ian Paice plays on the beat like a metronome so she gets that AND she has FUN!!! Do not lose that!
Excellent point. She totally tributes all these great drummers with their own little quirks which is totally amazing at this age. And often also puts in subtle little adds of her own. And yeah, having lots of fun while doing it which is most important.
