I personally love the Roku streaming stick 4k it's inexpensive and works very well. I find it to be fast and snappy and I especially like the resolution selection it gives you. 720p up to 4K Dolby Vision. Very nice options.
I love the Roku products. Unfortunately Pillip, you did not tell us the actual number, example 4660/4670/4800, or what generation to look for. Gen 8? Gen 9 etc. Tell people what they should be looking for so they don't end up with the 2017 model vs the 2022 or beond.
In the comparison chart I would like to see which models support AirPlay for those of us using an Apple device but mixing it up with a Roku on secondary tvs.
First I had the Roku Premiere then I got the streaming stick 4k. I have to admit i love the streaming stick with its Wi-Fi booster attached to the cable. It works very well for me and it's fast as hell loading and I haven't had any dropouts.
really wish you'd have been able to include the Streambar Pro against the Ultra in the testing. Considering replacing an Ultra from 2018 to the Streambar pro. Anyone know if the specs/performance are the same as the smaller streambar just bigger and louder? Was hoping that the Pro maybe could keep up better with the Ultra than the smaller Streambar
I have had the Express 4K+ for a few months, but I haven't been happy with it's connectivity to my Wi-Fi. Every 5 minutes or less, it looses connection and the screen goes dark. In contrast, the 2nd generation Chromecast is right next to it, and it has never had a bad connection. Neither has any of the other devices in the same area. Is this a known issue? Is this something that can be changed in a setting? I'm still new to cord cutting so, welcome any help. Thanks.
I tried the Stream Bar. Not impressed with the sound it produced. Ssme sound as TV speakers. I have an Ultra and I like the head phone jack on the control. When I first purchased the Ultra it was possible to use headphones and use a code to use TV speakers at the same time. Was a great feature for our family. On an update that feature did not work. Contacted Roku and posted on their community page. Never got a real answer from Roku why it couldn't be returned. I thought it could be a good selling point for Roku as many people have hearing problems and have family that do not need to turn the volume way up. When I needed new hearing aids I purchased ones that I could listen to TV. About 35 times the cost of an Ultra. Could use the TV speaker at the same time. But also had to purchase a device to transfer sound to my hearing aids via Bluetooth. We have 4 Roku's but their customer service is not good.
Since my tv is not so smart anymore and not 4k I opted for the Roku LE at Walmart to see if Roku can be a viable option over Directv. I have a free subscription to HBO Max but had no way to access on the tv, works well for that so far.
Do I need to pay monthly fee for any subscription for the each of this app like Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, CBS???? Or it is already paid by buying Roku???
Any idea if Roku will EVER provide an option to decode DTS, instead of just pass through? (Either with an upgraded RMP or a third party media player app)?
I purchased the Roku Ultra for the Dolby Vision. Unfortunately, my 2020 Vizio P Series Quantum’s Dolby Vision feature has technical issues especially after the recent update, so I’m unable to take advantage of the Dolby Vision. I guess it’s not the device’sfault but still pretty disappointed. Now it’s just sitting in my closet since I already have the Roku streambar because HDR10 works well on the tv at least. Using the Ultra would just be redundant.
so would you recommend that a non-Smart TV use the express? it has an HDMI opening but it’s not a smart TV. Will his make that TV smart? Also for a standard smart TV you recommend a 4K streaming stick? basically I have spectrum TV and I’m paying $25 a month to rent out two boxes for my two TVs. One is a smart TV and one is not. so if I can get two Roku‘s That are compatible with my TVs, to stream the spectrum app, then would save me money in the long run. thanks again!
I'm not tech savvy, all that translated to me was blah, blah, blah. Speed and resolution is better with each upgrade? Is that what it all translates to? My roku express burned itself out after a year and a half. Now I need ti buy a new one. Is getting a better roku lessen the chance of it burning out?
I have a Roku TV and use Roku Ultra on my 75" Sony 4k TV (instead of the native desktop that comes with the Sony). Is there any compelling reason I should use the built-in Sony software for accessing PLEX, RUclips, RUclips TV, Netflix, Prime Video and HBO? Would I get a better image? (As in sharper, brighter. etc.). Please share your thoughts on this.
@@jonathansoko1085 I’m already apart of the ecosystem with me phone and tablet. Also I can’t stand every time I skip the ad on the RUclips app on my Roku it skips the entire video and moves to the next one.
Can you test more on the streaming sticks. See if over heating has an affect on streaming? My mom has a Roku stick when it gets hot, the stream stops for a sec or two. I have an older model. Roku premiere with HDR10 and 4k. No issues with it. Except my monitor say the HDMI cable isn't certified.
I got a roku tv at walmart, was not expecting the proprietary remote that came with it. Four already labeled buttons that assume you will want those services. Is that a TCL move or a roku move? Assuming everyone that buys this tv will want, netflix, disney+, apple tv and hulu. You can't change them either. What a shit company to just assume everyone wants those services. I thought only microsoft crammed shitware down your throat. Anyways, I happened to find a RCA universal remote that I got working with the tv...and has a few more functions than the stock remote. Now I don't have to look at those services on my remote that I will never use. Well, I guess I should bring up a few more things. It does not support a keyboard, so you have to use the remote to put in that 12 character password.... and it makes commenting on youtube take forever. It's funny cuz my old samsung smart tv had keyboard support and it is a few years older than this one. When I was forced to activate the tv...(whoever heard of activating a tv?) HAHA!! They want your age and gender? Of course, then they want your bank info. Hell knows why they would want to know your gender. It also has no browser, or I haven't found it yet. Again, my old samsung had a browser. I just amazed at the crap you go through JUST to buy a freaking tv ... HAHA!!!
It is not an issue with Roku. Each channel in Roku is directly controlled and maintained by the respective channel partner. And each channel has geo restrictions. The channel partner controls their channels in all the regions on different platforms. However, you can watch the same channel in other platforms. Because the channel partner made available their channel in respective platform. If you need any channel to be available in Roku in South Africa region, contact the channel partner and share your interest.
First, ask your question. If you have asked your question in other thread, how will someone search for your question by looking in to all the threads. You are not Joe Biden or Donald Trump. And you are asking ... is anyone there. Eveyone is here. But you have lost your mind.
@@ruslsdadThe buffering only depends on internet download Speed. You should have good download Speed to eliminate buffering while fast forwarding the commercials. Sometimes even if you have a hundreds of Mbps network speed, the channels buffer. It depends on the network which gives the constant download Speed to the Roku. Here, you will have a doubt. Why my mobiles and other devices are not buffering? Again, Roku is not a mobile phone or a laptop. The operating system is different. You would require to change the network settings. Try changing the wireless channel to 6 if you are using 2.4 GHz and 121 if you are using 5 GHz.
No thanks. I prefer fire tv stick 4k max. Better interface and it can control my optical connected sound bar. Also can access RUclips and RUclips TV apps
There is no need of posting your comment if you like firestick. This video only has the information about Roku. If you like it, just comment on Roku or the information in the video. My biggest concern is, will I have to use more than one remote? I can't stand the thought of using more than one remote to operate My tv!

I guess it went under the radar but the older model Walmart Ultra LT had been $35. Killer killer deal.

So if I understood correctly .... 1st place: Roku Ultra ... 2nd place: Express 4k+. Right? Get a Express 4k+ then and save money.
Nice review. I would've liked to have seen some kind of WIFI comparison but that likely would be complicated.
Excellent video! Thank you for being straight forward. You also have a very nice voice!

I have the 2020 Ultra, works awesome for 4K but there’s so many quirky issues.
I’m switching to Apple TV 4K for this reason.
Why would you willingly become an apple sheep? You realize apple hates you right?

I love the 2 Ultras I have. Never had an issue.
Mine overheats constantly, causing the wifi to fail. Why do none of them have a fan or heat sink? It is designed to wear out.

If the stick overheats Roku will said an extension for it, it's free.
Have one with no volume control or on/off button. Why
My experience is that the streaming stick always over heated doing 4k (the 4K streaming stick). I got the Ultra and it works fine at 4k.
The irony is that 99% of streaming content you are watching, is 1080p or lower LOL
Great Review!!! Love the ROKU OS.......just very user friendly and easy to use
Lucky you
Mine sucks
I was just asking Jess let night on the Q &A about the roku stream bar.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN ULTRA 2021 AND ULTRA 2022?
Thanks for the review.
I'm not to impressed with my roku premiere. Soon will get another updated roku box . The ultra looks good
Should have given test speeds of the Roku Ultra with Ethernet as well. My apps all load in 2-5 seconds all the time no matter the app.
Hello I had a question if you don’t mind. I was wondering what year model you have is it the 2020?
