- Super excited to share my Gran Turismo 2 - "You Made It!" drum & bass cover! This song is originally composed by Masahiro Andoh and Isamu Ohira; this is one of the most aggressive songs from the entire Gran Turismo soundtrack and I'm so happy to share this play-through with you!
I've known this song for over 15 years, and I remember letting the AI drive the car after the race finished just to listen to the song. Now, here I am playing the thing. What a great song.

I keep coming back to this 🔥🔥 I'm not sure how they ohira dialed in the bass tone in the original... I used to imagine they used a combination of some killer pick-ups, a fresh set of strings etc but later discovered it could be a Bass effects/amp simulator plugin called Trilian

I bought a jazz bass last year and with new strings I can get close to that bass tone in the song - I could always replay this!
@@DavieDrum98 I used to have a Warwick corvette 5 string with active pickups that sounded close with a fresh set of strings too :) I'm glad you're keeping the classic Ohira era GT soundtrack alive, saying that you're doing it proper justice too would be an understatement man. Should def do more! Ohira's noticible absence is disappointing in the latest GT instalment :/

Another fantastic rendition of a GT2 classic that I hadn't heard in over 20 years. Not sure why this video has those funky interlacing artifacts though, they were a bit distracting.

@@DavieDrum98 Oh that's strange. This video has some really weird artifacts that looks like deinterlacing gone wrong that didn't appear in your previous video. But only on my main monitor, when I move the RUclips window to my secondary monitor the issue goes away. Ha, can't say I've ever had this happen before. Disregard my comment then.
@@ThunderComplex If you're talking about the black edges during the race gameplay, thats from whatever emulator xTimelessGaming was using. I used his gameplay for intro

I started playing bass in 2020, and I basically started learning it then - in little pieces. So you can say it took me 3 years to learn the song, as I was learning the bass lol
Wow, what a great track to learn the bass on! Those composers knew how to write for bass guitar very well. So much cool stuff is hidden in there. I learn myself a ton from it even I’ve playing bass for almost 20 years.

That was one of the ways the AI in the game cheated. Putting in a GT40 in a race that's supposed to be for slower vehicles.
Yeah, its a well known bug of GT2. There are many cheating AI where they were above the HP limit.
