I watched Northern Exposure when it was on in the 90's and loved it. I now have the whole set on DVD. Names for the goats, Flora, Fauna, Merryweather and Prince Phillip.

I LOLed about you asking your hubby's opinion and promptly doing the opposite! 😂 When I ask mine stuff like that, he says, "it's a trap! I'm not answering that." 😂 He knows good and well I'm on a do what I wanna do, but I do sometimes actually want his input.

I love how you feel about dressing. I wish I didn’t depend on the opinion of others so much. I love the ranunculus sweater. I made a three quarter length sleeve one. I love it. It is easy to cook and do other things without worrying about dirtying the sleeves. You really do a fantastic job putting your podcast together. One of the best knitting productions I’ve watched. Fruity knitting is good, but I like the length of yours. Also, while I’m writing a book to you 😂 are you fabulous at everything you do? Bee keeping, piano, sewing, , knitting, etc. What a gal!

LOVING the summer brights going on in this episode Kaci!!! Such happy colors and they all go so well together. Just something funny came to mind about the goat names: Grieg, Bach, Chopin, Mozart. The juxtaposition of these classical musicians with goofy goats just tickles me lol. I've seen goats used to help manage invasive buckthorn in Minnesota. Yay for goats! Sending love to you and yours ❤~Stephanie

Goats….Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo, Betty Jo and Uncle Joe. I’ve had a pretty tough 2024 too and I know exactly what you mean… the usual podcasts and books aren’t doing it, knitting isn’t doing it doing it but I love Northern Exposure! I watched the series a couple times and I think it’s time to watch it again. Thanks so much for the reminder! I hope your year gets better. It’s been a very tough one for you, it will take time. ❤

I was literally finishing my first Ranunuculus while watching you today. I am using Santolina from Purl Soho in a lovely lavender color. I will be making a 2nd one for winter soon. Also, my daughter, who lives in New Zealand, got to work on a goat dairy farm for a couple years. I have so many goat videos she sent me of them doing all sorts of silly things. She also has mental health issues and the goats were so much fun, she couldn't be sad around them.

Knitting on a tractor. Now that is a first. I love it. You make me laugh! I totally understand about the humidity. I was born and raised in southern Louisiana. I move to Arizona for 27 years where I hated the heat, but loved the absence of humidity and bugs. Well last year I moved back to Louisiana and I am just miserable. Yes I do sit in the air conditioning with a fan on to work on my projects. You could name them after Charlies Angels. Charlie or Bosley, Sabrina, Jill, and Kelly. We once had triplet goats that we named Sandy, Randy, and Brandy.

When I was pregnant with my second daughter, my eldest daughter loved a board book about two little goat kids named Poppy and Patch, which is where I got the inspiration for my second daughter’s name. As for names for your goats how about knit terms or things you love to do…Purl, Bea (bee keeper), your favorite book character…Brontë, etc. They are always naming their ducks and chickens after their favorite sit coms or favorite musicians or songs. They have a lot of fun with it.

Clothing industry patternmaker here - with your large bust, you need bust darts. Judging from how the bodice hikes on your romper, you need about 1-1/2" to 2" darts. Adding darts isn't hard. I will gladly show you how if you can't find instructions on RUclips. Try it; I think you will like the fit so much better.

My goats are named after women in songs. I have Fancy, Lucille, Jolene, Stormy, and Brandy. My wether is named Bubba after my favorite Alabama cowboy, Bubba Smith from " the Cowboy Way" tv show.
Ps... I loved you knitting on the tractor! It made me giggle! I have that same tractor. My hubby uses an 1987 Ford 60 HP. But I like mine better.

Your goats will be fun for the kids too! If the boy is not nutered, you will want a separate area to keep him during rutting season ~ preferably downwind from your house 🤣! All breeds of goats have different personalities. If you guys are not in 4H ~ join up ~ they are connected with University’s across the U.S. and will teach the kids & you medical & care. 4H is a great resource. We had angoras. They have wonderful sweet personalities.

Casey I love your podcast. All your creations both knitting and sewing are beautiful. Unfortunately knitting a vest is not really an option for me as I live in Northern Ireland and we are still waiting on summer arriving in the British and Irish Isle. Even when it does arrive we think we’ve an extremely hot day when it hits 20 degrees C😂.
I loved Northern Exposure in the 90s and now might rewatched it.
My grandparents had a goat when I was a child/teenager and she was amazing. They are such characters and will bring you and family so much fun and laughter. Can’t wait to see the pictures.

The humidity is why I stayed in Arizona my second time coming here. I grew up between Little Rock and Memphis. I do not miss the humidity at all. I will take my dry 123* days over a 80* 100% humidity any day of the summer. However I could do without the 2 springs. My allergies go haywire twice a year

Hey Kaci! Love all your tops in progress and so excited for you to get your goats! As far as names go, I always have to see the animals before I name them (with the exception of my dog who I named before we even found him!) although since you like Jane Eyre so much there are 3 Bronte sisters right? And the buck could be Bronte 😂

My husband and I watched Northern Exposure all the time back when we were first married. It was a favorite show. Somewhere in this house we have an autographed script from the show. It is quirky and fun but also gives you a real sense of the culture of that place. I remember seeing the woman you referenced on a late night talk show back then and she actually brought a jar of home made Alaskan mulberry jam that her family had made and gave it to the host. I don’t know why I remember that. Also there’s this character I think named Ruth Ann? She is a no nonsense older lady on the show. She wore pigtails and denim overalls and a plaid shirt to the Emmy Awards! The show was so fun, and full of a bunch of characters who were interesting personalities in real life.

Hi Kaci! Thanks so much for your beautiful videos, I really appreciate them, and I can’t believe how much you are able to knit and sew. It’s so funny you brought up Northern Exposure, I’ve just started watching it about a month ago and just finished the first season and I honestly love it so much. I haven’t seen past season one, but I would recommend you keep going with it! ❤

Oh! Northern Exposure, I've forgotten completely. I think it was shown in the beg. of 90s when I was at the primary school. I loved it then!
I just found another forgotten series, Six Feet Under. I really liked the first seasons when it came in the beg. of 2000s and it's been fun watching it now again.
And what comes to joining yarn / russian join: If the yarn's the kind that the join will be clearly showing thicker, I usually open the yarn twist and remove strands from both yarns and then make the russian join or simply just knit few (10 or so) stitches with these two "thinned" yarns held together. This usually works quite well. Ok, I prefer not to make the join in the middle front or so, but this spring I've knitted a couple of shirts with plant based yarns (which are the most difficult to make an invisible join with), I made the join by "thinning" the yarns before continuing with new skein, and I was delighted how nicely it showed up.
Thanks for the nice episode again. And that peachy-pinky-lovely-romper is sooooo beautiful.

I haven’t used her yarn yet, but I have admired it for a while. She’s one of the best yarn dyers out there.
