      Absolutely love the on the ground vlogging showing the real china which is far more than what I can say for many other "china experts" on RUclips. I as pro-china as they come but one thing I'm not the biggest fan of is how rude some of the salespeople in these smaller tech stalls can be but obviously those few don't represent how everyone acts in their community. They remind me of some salespeople in similar tech stalls I've visited in Singapore and Malaysia who can be just as rude if not more so.

      Yeah, usually people are nice, but sometimes when you are carrying a camera around, people can be a bit reserved. Hi Hazza. Is it still shaking? Haven't heard about it in the last week, maybe due to virus revelations. I was there 24 hours after the initial story. From what I understand, it is not swaying, it was an up and down motion. Chinese people I talk to at SZU think it was due to mining for crypto currency and thousands of hard drives spinning in the same direction at the same time. I don't understand that but I don't know much about crypto currency. Looking forward to your video. Is this one on your networks dime?

    All modern tall buildings are designed to deal with earthquakes etc. Hence, a very small tremor which can hardly be felt on ground level, may be swaying at the very tall heights. In most milder earthquakes, the danger is not the tall modern buildings collapsing but being cut, hurt by the broken glass and debris falling from high above. So, have to stay clear to be safe. I had seen and felt earthquakes in Manila when I was there for some work. (also in Taiwan but that was very minor earthquake, the 1st for me). Most of it were minor, however, the last one was slight bigger. The Trump Towers in Makati City, near the hotel where I stayed was swaying quite a bit and in some buildings, where there were water storage tanks on the roof, the water spewed over and came down like a huge waterfall. So, were some falling glass panel and other debris. Other than that, nothing serious happened. Manila is a nicely place too. Cheers.

    • @Hazza_Harding

  • @spidermann1256
    @spidermann1256 3 года назад

    I thought you were going to cover the cause of the swaying, rather than the vendors in the place. Anyhow, still interesting - t.y.
    I wonder if the irregular movement is due to some sort of malfunction of the counterweights they use in tall buildings to break the rhythm of the structure's natural oscillation [presumably it's equipped with one].

    Interesting they don't want you to film. It's not as if they're doing anything illegal is it? Is taking photos and footage generally frowned upon just in stores or outside as well

    I heard that people from Fujian r known for scam while those from Guangdong (Cantonese) r rude in general n I realized most of them in this video dislike to be on camera or maybe they just shy.....remember the movie Comrade, Almost a Love Story (Leon Lai & Maggie Cheung) where a naive Beijing guy being treated rudely by Cantonese (both from (GuangDong & HongKong)
    Well, wherever we go I think it’s important to understand the local culture n habit, just know that it’s nothing personal I mean usually they’ll be as rude even towards their own.....

    • @Hazza_Harding
      @Hazza_Harding  3 года назад

      I think that Cantonese people are generally pretty polite when they speak Cantonese... but there are just some commonly used polite words in Cantonese that don’t translate well into Mandarin, so if they don’t speak Mandarin perfectly, the way they speak may come across as being rude to speakers of Putonghua - but most of the time, especially when I’m not holding a camera, Cantonese people have always been really friendly to me. I guess it depends on the situation, and who you speak to. Also, Cantonese people can be very pragmatic too - and sometimes being too polite comes across as being a bit standoffish... I don’t know how to explain it... like being too polite seems to put distance between you and the person you are speaking with. Thanks for your comment! Much appreciated

    You call this investigative journalism Hazza? Your video was a shopping trip with the emphasis on Huawei.
    This building could collapse. Why are you not speaking to people who work in it? There are thousands of them!

      When did I ever refer to this as "investigative journalism"? This is a vlog... I'm just making RUclips vlogs... Just because I am a journalist by day doesn't mean I can't make RUclips vlogs in my spare time. Plus, there are gaping holes in your accusations that you made. Yes, I have been following this story closely at work, and I have spoken to people that work there - but work is work and RUclips is RUclips, and I try to clearly separate the two. Do you have an issue with that?
