Carlos this was AWESOME 😂 the people were great and friendly. I saw this building when Peter Santenello visited Alaska. Although it was a good documentary yours is 10x better 😂 Have you ever heard of German Town Jamaica? I barely heard of them for the first time in my 54 years the other day.
There is a certain gratitude that these people feel that someone is showing interest in their lives in this very lonely area! You should make videos like this more often! Thumbs up Volpe....good job 👏👌
That was a lot more fun than I expected, always great to see how a few drinks can really create a common language and friendship among people you never knew before!
This video should have 10 million views. What a great video. I hope you make another video in another place in Alaska, talking to locals and drinking. Can’t wait for more
It's not as bad as it might seem. It's beautiful there & they have so many fun outdoor activites. They're also only about 1 hour from Amchorage which is as urban as it gets for Alaska.
I love these types of videos that you drop, where you get to hang around and talk to the locals and just get the local "feel" of it all around. That's cool stuff.
This video was so awesome, and it is one of the last places I thought you would go. This looked like so much fun, and it was also fun watching you almost freeze into a popsicle stick out in the cold! It was great seeing the inside of the bar, and it seems like you just have a natural knack to get lucky and bump into the right people at the right time to get access to the places that many people might not see, like the secret 2nd floor bar, and the other building where the locals live. That lady was so nice to let you into her home. She has such a bubbly personality, and WOW that huge "Alaska-equipped" cat was freaking awesome!!!
It’s cosy if you want to be isolated. I wonder when the building was constructed when will it have to be updated again? It was good you went to visit. 🥶
The get together with the girls and the party was a blast,,,,, a real humorous scene...... watching it can be a real mood lifter..... a real classic .....thank you
I'd love to have many more people like Russ in this country. If we had more like him, we might actually have more hope for a great future in this country.
Whittier is super cool. Nice little isolated town that has a ton of cruise ships stop. They only have about an hour drive to Anchorage, but they have everything from glacier hiking to jet skiing at home.
Volpe. You are definitely not a one hit wonder (which I knew already because I’ve been steady watching you) . This was an awesome visit and you have such a great way of connecting to people! Great job man.
Got a hunch that "off the cam" events that night were way more freaky than what goes on undocumented in Medellin. 😁 Oh, and the bearded guy was just what every drinking crew needs. Chuckling there all night, looking like a broken wax figure, trying to finish that one sentence he started around 10PM.
Great video again Volpe the bar interview is professionally handled with empathy. You asked the right questions and you are an excellent listener, allowed the speaker to explain without stupid interjections. Well done! Yeah it Shits me to hear about 'BIG BUSINESS' always shafting good hard working people. This world is sometimes disheartening to hear these stories. I have had similar experiences with multinational companies. We all should somehow cancel 'B*G B&S*' entities and only support small business family enterprises again.
That guy in the bar really told it as it is today , not only in America, but most of the western world. The two ladies thanked you for a fun evening 😅 Well done , keep it up ,as they say😂
In Fairbanks here, just started watching your content and was pretty stoked to see you in Whittier last night. looks like it was a blast fersure. if you want to move on further north, id really recommend it. but you must needs another layer or 2. prob have enough spare gear around to outfit you if needs be. have fun, stay safe; the colds mostly in your head, cept it can kill you, so respect it, with layers.
Sup Volpe good to see you in Anchorage Alaska a lot of our Samoan peoples there shoutout to my sister i the start of the tunnel good to see our ppl there u should try do a Samoan content there or in LA been following u for a few years now uce keep up the good work ur one of the best doing travel content 😊🤙🏽
lots of filipinos work on the cruise ships. if you go downtown in miami on the first block of flagler by biscayne theres a bunch of filipino restaurants and stuff for the workers
Carlos great video! You met some very humble people. You should visit Maine! That was a coon cat. They are rare. You need to get warmer clothes! A Venezuelan in the north lmao 🤣. Merry Christmas 🎄
Growing up in a small town Montana I know this scene of the old drunk guy at the bar that is mad at the world and mad at himself. They’re miserable humans, it’s too bad. They see everything as everyone else’s problem, but being a drunk isn’t a part of the problem in their minds. It’s a waste of a life someone else would like to have the opportunity.
That's called a Snow Plow. Sometimes the mounds of accumulated and dumped snow get so large, they last until summer. Takes forever to melt off. Had a Alaskan snow plow driver tell me he could switch lanes while driving just by changing the angle of the plow in front like an airplane wing.
Great Spot, years ago a tunnel employee took me and friend out on the PWS for a weekend. It was amazing and I learned quickly to respect Mother Nature. Best seafood I have had. Great self relient tough people. If you get a chance, spend some time in Girdwood. Chair Five is a good local spot and the pizza is the best.
I was there for a few days in 2001. It’s really a very cool place and the people are extremely friendly. Except for a handful I met. I stayed with friends of an ex a couple floors from the top overlooking the port and the buildings. To me The basement had a kinda creepy feeling to it but everything else was cool.
Brother you need to show us more of your beautiful, diverse and impressive country (USA), the country with most climate zones, biomes and ecosystem on earth, with higher difference of temperature extremes and highest amount and diversity of natural/strategic resources and Arable land on earth. Arguably the most beautiful country in the world too (United States). Greetings from Dominican Republic
Great video bro... The bar was like a scene out of the movie "Perfect Storm ''Betting the guy at the Bar has some interesting stories to tell.. A Very welcoming Close knit Community with good people Something that is far and few between these day's in America 🇺🇸 👍
Volpe didn’t realize he was talking to Rusty Nail from the movie Joyride at the local pub, be careful just don’t tell him you have any Candy Canes around😂😂
I commercial fished in Alaska, from salmon in Cordova to crab out to the far west tip of the Aleutian Islands (Attu). Did and saw amazing things. Of all the places and things you could have gone to and done in Alaska, you fly 4,000 miles from Miami to go to a typical small-town Alaska bar in the off-season? LOL! Why?
Is drink driving more relaxed in Alaska? In Scotland they have a no alcohol tolerance. If you have been drinking the day before it could set a breathalyzer test off today
I'm not familiar with Scotland's DUI laws or how liberally permissive and tolerant Scotland has become with DUI punishment and corrections in the courts and justice system's application of the DUI laws. I think Alaska is very fair but not free and easy. Never drink & drive but if you have to don't do it in Alaska. The limit is .08 BAC. Alaska has zero tolerance for DUI's on or off the road in a plane or in a boat or on a snowmachine or while operating anything or the inferred ability by possessing the keys to operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. For example, the offender who receives a felony DUI conviction, the good news is the offender is generally looking at $10,000 to $50,000 in fines, which also results in complete revocation of the driver's privileges, the offender must pay to enroll in and complete a treatment program for substance abuse. Which gives the offender the right to apply for a new driver's license after ten years, the offender must also pay to rent/lease for 5 years A vehicle equipped with (IID) Ignition Interlock Device (that's the thing someone has to fart into before it will allow the vehicle to start or when it randomly requires farts while you're driving so it does not turn off and lock out for 4 hours). The offender also automatically receives a mandatory minimum not less than 120 days up to five years in prison. But for the offender who is a hard to learn inconsiderate repeat public nuisance will receive prison sentence subjectively enhanced many years or even longer, if the offender has more than two priors in the last ten years. @mcleanization1540 Is Scotland similar or are we just too nice and relaxed to DUI offenders❓
@@bigslinking In Scotland you will be fined and have your licence taken off you for a while, but I'm not sure how much they fine you. It's usually a 2 year driving ban, but if you get into an accident because of it and seriously injured or killed someone then you would lose your licence for life. They have a zero alcohol tolerance policy, whereas in southern Ireland you are allowed a few units. As for a car that runs on farts, I've never heard of that, that's quite funny 🤣
Loved watching this. Interesting locals. The bar lady to the vivacious host, great times. Would have loved to have been part of this!!! The Greenland next I hope. Bring more fun onl

I barely heard of them for the first time in my 54 years the other day.
Never thought you would end up in such isolated places on Earth but glad you did. I think their lifestyle is wholesome.
There is a certain gratitude that these people feel that someone is showing interest in their lives in this very lonely area! You should make videos like this more often! Thumbs up Volpe....good job 👏👌
💯
That was a lot more fun than I expected, always great to see how a few drinks can really create a common language and friendship among people you never knew before!
Weed and alcohol turns strangers into friends like no other.
This is by far one of the best videos about Whittier. You got to capture something of the local life that others couldn't. Kudos.
I can tell you these are the best two videos you have done on your channel.the travel food, and talking to residents about the communities
This video should have 10 million views.
What a great video.
I hope you make another video in another place in Alaska, talking to locals and drinking.
Can’t wait for more
I get living there for a few months for work or being stationed military, but living there over 30 years like that man will definitely make you crazy.
It's not as bad as it might seem.
It's beautiful there & they have so many fun outdoor activites.

This is quality filmmaking... this is Volpe transitioning beyond Alejandra & B.B. - Well done my dude
Don't normally watch a 83 minute video but i'm enjoying this 👌

My boy this vid was crazy. You went to the extreme for us 💯 🔥🔥🔥

Can’t believe you met a Dominican in Alaska. Coño we are everywhere. Great video Volpe. And hello from a Dominican/Venezuelan in NYC.
The get together with the girls and the party was a blast,,,,, a real humorous scene...... watching it can be a real mood lifter..... a real classic .....thank you
Seeing the homies walking through the parking lot completely wasted at the end was good vibes. Reminded me of my college days lol.
Yeah, I think Russell was made for the next Moby Dick movie.
I'd love to have many more people like Russ in this country. If we had more like him, we might actually have more hope for a great future in this country.
Homeboy repping Whittier in Alaska my home town
the dude with the beard in the car at the end of the video was totally wasted hahahaha
Finally got a chance to catch this episode. Thanks so much, Volpe, for the stunning travels and incredible mountain and bay views. Great vlog! 🌎
Love the variety of your content !
I worked on a cruise ship for 3 years. We spent summers in Alaska. Been to Whittier many times. Good place. Good people.

Dude, I can't explain it, but you drunk and freezing your ass off while everyone laughs at you is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.
All drunk , having fun , one of your best episodes 😜
💯 episodes

That guy at bar telling stories i can hear hom whole day .. i can pitcheries his whoe words👍
U can make whole documentary on him
Bar talk is the best, you meet new people.
I seen other versions of this video but this was another level, leave it to Carlos to find party friends in a place with less than 200 inhabitants.
Excellent video Carlos!
That guy in the bar really told it as it is today , not only in America, but most of the western world.
The two ladies thanked you for a fun evening 😅
Well done , keep it up ,as they say😂
this is epic video , greetings from Finland

I don’t know what I was expecting when I clicked on this video, but I’m glad I did. Looks like you guys had a blast creating unforgettable memories.
Funny seeing this Volpe. Since we have over 7 feet of snow now. And it's 3 below zero. Welcome to Alaska 😊

That cat's eating better then everybody
Wish there was a way to give more than one like. Great video.
In 1998 our tunnel was closed for 10 days due to avalanches. We had over 20 avalanches between Anchorage and Hope.
Man I was waiting on you to go Bobby BuShea and say. "This is high quality H2O!" LOL Love the drunken finished at the end.
The thing on the front of the truck after you paid is called a snow plow, for snow removal.

Fantastic content brother and the thing attached to that State truck is called a Snow Plow 👊🏻😎

It’s for removing snow off the roads. It’s a snowplow on the truck.
i love this, nice switch up of locale but still intergrating with local culture and way of life
When they first opened Whittier to Cruise ships, I was the first to drive a tour buss through to make sure they could make it thru OK!
Volpe didn’t realize he was talking to Rusty Nail from the movie Joyride at the local pub, be careful just don’t tell him you have any Candy Canes around😂😂
Alaska represent 🙌🏼
Merry Christmas Everyone.
There’s a Stephen King type story just waiting to be written about this town lol. Great video and great people!
01:14:28 That was hilarious. Great vlog Volpe
This part was hilarious!
Then at 01:19:04 the guy says who's this 😂
