I used to fly up to Anchorage to Dj and that town gets wild. I remember the first time getting off the plane too and it was "Negative" degrees in December!
It's all good now. You can hit up the beaches of Queensland, the big cities like Sydney and even go meet some interesting characters in the outback. Don't be scared of the animals, be scared of the women 😜

I lived in Anchorage while I was in the military. I loved it, the winters are tough though. I was raised in Montana so I’m used to cold, but the amount of dark days and cold in the winter get old. On the other hand the sun not going down during the summer months is pretty epic. Summer time there is pretty incredible. Also you should have gone to Moose’s tooth. They have great beer and pizza. Also the Alaskan people are… Alaskan. They’re very much their own people. If a girl in Alaska is into you…they make it known.

Thee best fish and chips are in Scotland , renowned the world over because we use Haddock in 85% of the dishes the other 15% is cod which is an Acquired taste for a lot of Scots , Cod is eaten more by Welsh and English , me personally i don't like cod because its a bottom feeder and far too strong on the fishy scale but if you ever arrive in Scotland for your dietary requirements then there are many famous fish and chip shops throughout Scotland , the best i ever had (and I'm from Glasgow) was when i was in anstruther , and the anstruther fish bar , straight out of the water just a few yards away and into the deep fat fryer , too good
I visited Anchorage, Fairbanks, Denali National Park, Valdez, Prince William Sound etc. I liked it, but not as much as visiting Vancouver and the Rocky Mountains around Banff. I would highly recommend visiting Banff it's very nice very scenic around this area.
It’s cool that you won’t to Alaska, away from the warmth of the south. You should come to Chicago. We have many Venezuelans who made the trip up here also without winter gear, and end up living in police stations, airports, and other public shelters. Come and get their stories.
