Bench clearing brawls in the 1980s: guys fighting Bench clearing brawls in the 2020s: guys whining at each other and nobody wanting to get fined/suspended/injured to cost them money
I'm pretty sure suspensions are longer than they use to be, hell could even be something in their contracts saying that have to avoid fights. Furthermore, if they keep getting involved in on field scuffles, they can end up out of the MLB one way or another. Look at Yasiel Puig, it seems like after a while no team would take him.
Going all the way back to hockey in '70s it's all changed, NHL, NFL, MLB, NBA. I miss the ole days (heck no on even knows what a stirrup is in baseball anymore see George Hendrick as the progenitor of the modern MLB uniform). Fighting has been legislated out of professional sports for good or bad.
That last skirmish.. I've never seen Abreu that pissed off before. One of the few games I didn't watch. That, and the game he played 3rd base for an inning lol
For anyone who believes there isn't an effort to emasculate men just compare the fights seen in the 70s, 80s, and 90s and compare it to what you see here in this video.
What gets me is that a pitcher could talk crap after striking you out and beat his chest but if you hit a homerun and admire your homerun or beat your chest you are breaking an unwritten rule. Wow
Is there anything more pathetic in any team sport as when the bullpen jogs up to the fight. I agree with what somebody else said, the best way to stop this is to let them fight. Because none of them can.

Yeah, if you’re a twelve year old. Men don’t kiss their own butt every time they succeed. He’s overpaid about a zillion bucks to do those things. If he wasn’t an immature baby, he wouldn’t be on his fifth team in seven years.
@@kch7051 I’ve been watching his crap since he came up with the Tigers. This is nothing new. He can hit, but he never worked on his other skills. Spoiled immature baby. Always was always will be. Proof is to team puts up with his crap for long, even though he’s a good hitter. If he wants to keep showing people up, he’s going to have to keep plucking fastballs out of his ear. He brings it on himself. He’s going to get teammates hurt as well.
@@usernamempk i'm not saying anything about the type of player he is. I'm merely referring to this one incident...and i believe he had every right. I think Molina often thinks he's god's gift to baseball, like MadBum does...and i dont like it.
Some of these announcers are terrible. Using outdated cliches and also talking about fighting on the field well before anything remotely resembling a fight is actually happening. Corny announcers who have no business with a microphone and telling the audience what might be going on. What a joke!
That announcer for the Padres was excited for a fight. Haven't heard anyone that excited for a fight in a baseball game. Man, that's something.
Don Orsillo, long time Red Sox announcer, been with the Padres about 4 to 5 years
Want to end baseball fights? Let ‘em fight. Hockey style. Let the two guys go until one falls. All the fake tough guys will think twice.
It's a lot harder to get hurt from punches when you're both on ice skates
2:12 Now they're gonna TALK
And Now we're gonna FIGHT
Nothing happens...
funny when they are face to face nothing happens but as soon as someone gets between that they try to get to each other.

@@Veganerd_ something “in their contracts saying they have to avoid fights”? Are you serious with that? LOL

he played 3rd base when he started in cuba
Anybody notice that towel looking thing in the Mets vs Phillies one? What was that?
I'm gonna miss last year brawls
Main reason for bench clearing
SELFISHNESS
The bullpens empty!!!!!! What are a bunch of relief pitchers gonna do???
Was a single punch thrown all year?
Oh look yadier runs away. Shocking. He starts it, but won't finish it.
Suzuki gonna get his Yamaha Kawasakied.
In no sport do more players hug and hold while allegedly supposed to be fighting.

Yawn, wake me when some gets seriously damaged.
bullpen, bless their little hearts, they'll look for any excuse to leave the bullpen
These bench clears are a joke. Fights have turned into shouting matches. This generation of Baseball players are all talk and no action
*Let's go Oak-Land!!!*
East Bay baby!!!👍
these no punch skirmishes are almost as boring as the ball games, someone anyone throw a damn punch already

The 80s and 90s were so much better. They actually tossed em. These fannies nowadays just talk. It's so weak, just stay in the dugout.
Castellanos needs to grow up.
Please….he had every fucking right to do what he did
