8:22 You explained, that the inlets of the front bumper brings air to the side, called Air curtains. So these intakes have function (by the way, only the AMG-bumper has that). So why do you call it fake?!? It's not fake.
At my BMW E39 the exhaust pipe is not visible from behind. It is covered behind the rear bumper except if you have the m sport package or a station wagon. In general, BMWs and Mercedes from the 90s and early 2000s have been more subtle and elegant.
Just inspected a 350 at a German dealer. the panel gaps were extreme in some parts and doors were not adjusted to prevent air flow noise. Parts of the plastic front bumper touches the fender and will scratch down the paint pretty soon. Took pictures. Other EQSs were perfect. Maybe this was an early production car.
My state requires a front plate but its not enforced and thus for the first time I ignored it. In the US its not only Florida, the are many other that don't require it.
8:59 Again you're talking about fake?!?! I can't see any fake pipes at the back. Talking about the horizontal chrome lines? I have no assocciation to pipes there... Having horiyontal lines there makes the car sit optical lower and more stable on the road.
@@manuelschuwerk6424 No, he is right, but its not a fake exhaust, its an "in memorian" to the exhaust tip. I like it. Many think the EQS is boring looking. I beg to differ Its elegantly and purposefully simple. Its a sight to behold. Wide, low, and sleek. Those adornments give a little flair.
@TobyStgt Have a look at the non-AMG EQS. They look much more modern without this old fossil design. But they still have a little exhaust pipe left over. Seems as if the can't without: www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fsquir.com%2Fsedan%2Fmercedes-benz-eqs-2021.html%3F___store%3Dgerman%26___from_store%3Drussian&psig=AOvVaw0L8-RC9In6RwNDClSZ6uyH&ust=1652804263550000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAwQjRxqFwoTCOjP5-u15PcCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAj
The goodyear F1 is an MO tire made specifically for the EQS. Mercedes specified the parameters for construction regarding quietness, roll resistance in addition to the usual wet and dry grip. They may wear wear the F1 logo but they are F1 in name only. They are quite good indeed but not an ultimate performance tire. The AMG uses Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. It has even more performance (used it on my E43) but it affects range quite significantly. I like Pzeros too but the Michelins are even more "sticky" and they last longer. The 4s is presently the overall king kong of max performance summer tires. However, the Pzero is the most entertaining to drive because they have very sharp response and though they have less ultimate grip, they are very controlable when they slide. They are all great tires. The continentals on my GLS 580 are also superb. In the last decade the major manufacturers have really come up with some amazing tires.
I learned it in a different way. The MO tire has a slightly different rubber mixture than the normal one. The major difference is the design freeze, after Mercedes accepted the tire. The manufacturers optimize the tires over the month and years of production. But the MO tires stay the same. That's good for constancy but bad for not accepting enhancements.
The new models have matrix lights. Not as many facets as the Mercedes, but they have. Here you can see it at the linked time: ruclips.net/video/IribtQMwHZU/видео.html
Tesla does have Matrix Lights. The feature that facets light up differently from each other is blocked tho, because in thats not allowed in many US states.
Mercedes has launched their (quite limited) level 3 self driving package which is called "Drive Pilot". It is available for the EQS and I think you can also retrofit it if the car didn't come with it (it is pure software, I think). Do you plan to get this? Would be interesting to see how it compares to the Tesla autopilot.
No not only Software. A lot of hardware too. Additional GPS antenna, different steering wheel and LIDAR sensors in the front are just the most visual differences
For now only available in Germany and it will cost a bundle. Not worth it for its limited capacity. In effect, its simply a low speed highway congestion system.
I have seen a brand new EQS 500 yesterday in Stuttgart. Really ugly in the front. The specialty is, that Mercedes will pay for the accident, if it happens up to 60km/h (37mph) on Autobahns during daytime without rain or fog. So barely usable for 6.000€.
@@EQSelectric I would hate it when it deactivates before a tunnel or extra wide bridge...System needs to drive 130, overtake, choose correct lanes and make an Autobahn switch on its own to be of real use for its money. Else it is just a hyped up traffic jam assist.
Dear Horst, I'd like to make you aware of the inner ring on the rims where the short chrome spokes end. To my knowledge, turns out this small ring optimizes the drag already so much, that a closed rims would be less meaningful in terms of wheight, looks, heat dissipation AND drag after all. So this pratically this is almost as good as (sometimes rather ugly) fully closed areo rims.
Mr. Lüning, congratulations to your Mercedes! Please remove those Autohaus-license plate holders and screw the plates directly in the car's holders. This is predeterminded by Mercedes and looks much better (except you need to advertise the Autohaus). This will be a little better for the drag coefficient, too! ;-) It could also affect the parking sensors. Have a look on the Mercedes-press-cars, they always have screwed license plates.
Yes we always screwed on the license plate in the front at the Mercedes dealership. The main reason is to not cause interference with the parking sensors
Well, eventually climate change and intense farming will take care of the insects. There is already a massive decline of insect population in tropical regions. But at least you don't need to clean your supercar then.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu dem schönen KFZ. Bei Modellen wie Diesem bekomme ich wieder Freude an deutscher Automobiltechnik.

You could do this without this big fake duct. See the Tesla Model 3 which has this curtain feature as well.
Stick of Truth tells the truth. ☺️
Great video, quality and presentation on top level. Thank you this EV only channel.

14:37 Or it could be they have a more durable compound that offsets the lower profile depth while having less rolling resistance.
Could be, the fact is that its very different to the non-MO F1. BTW they are superbly expensive 350 dollars each.
Very interesting to hear your mind about the car. Thanks
Thats a great looking car. Very futuristic, a bit like a plane.
Thanks for pointing out the legacy exhaust tips I really hadnt made the connection I just thought they were just a nice trim item!

350 is cancelled.
There had been some early EQS, which did not reach typical Mercedes standards. Not only the 350 but the 580s as well.
My state requires a front plate but its not enforced and thus for the first time I ignored it. In the US its not only Florida, the are many other that don't require it.
22:11 Can you specify the difference of drag coefficient? How much is much much better?
Well, probably I over argued. But I can imagine 1%, which is a lot for a modern car.
8:59 Again you're talking about fake?!?! I can't see any fake pipes at the back. Talking about the horizontal chrome lines? I have no assocciation to pipes there... Having horiyontal lines there makes the car sit optical lower and more stable on the road.
Yes exactly, in my opinion its a design element and a the rear looks with it more exclusive and not like a empty cheap plastic bumper.
9:09 Afaik the vertical "vent" at the side is totally fake, though!

What HSN number has the 450+ - important for german insurance?
HSN: 2222 / TSN: AXZ Aber die meisten Suchmasken bieten eine Fahrzeugsuche an, da sollte der 450+ als Modell auftauchen.
