Hello from Ottawa Canada. I see you've gotten your toque out for winter. Up here we've just put ours away and getting the shorts out for summer. Great video. Cheers
Awesome video as always my friend. Beautiful sky to wake up to, what’s the temperature at the moment. Machine man Phil is doing a cracking bit of work, say hello from me, as I’m also a 360% operator so I no a good operator when I see one. Fantastic drone footage of your paddocks, looks awesome mate. Looking very different around your house now it’s been levelled up, can’t wait to see it when it’s topsoiled up. And I think your right, rip up that last piece of concrete, it’ll look better as a garden, tell your wife i said so. Thanks for sharing mate.
Thanks Steve! It gets to around 18-20 degrees in the day and is cooling down at night now to single figures around the 3-6 degrees. Unfortunately I had to leave the concrete but one day it will come out for sure and Phill is one of the best around 👍
We use Baton, but there’s a guy at farm source in town called John, if you have any questions regarding spraying ask him, he used to be a spraying contractor and knows his stuff!👍 I ask him stuff all the time 😂
@@TheOnceADayFarmer oh yes. No problem. English is not my first language, sometimes is difficult for me. I would like to know how you feed and care the calves until 6 months? Thanks
No worries that’s all good, that’s sort of thought you meant. They are on milk for about 3-4 months and get hay, meal and grass as well, then once there weaned they get grass and maize 👍
Can’t fit all the cows on the feed pad together unfortunately and it’s in the wrong spot, it’s not close to the milking shed so only one herd goes on it
FARMING IS MOST UNDERATED💛
👌👍
Just found your channel mate. Good job. Nice to see some kiwis on RUclips showing how we do it
Awesome, yeah I thought NZ dairy farming is pretty unique and other people would want to see how we do it 👍

I had to google toque, I’d never heard of it being called that before!
Thanks 👍
@@TheOnceADayFarmer It's a Canadian thing. haha
Ahh fair enough!
Always interesting to see people tagging procedures. We tag with heifer tag in the paddock when collecting calves then nait tag at 2-3 days old.
Yeah everyone does it different aye 👍
Awesome video! Cheers from the states!

Your Cattle look really well. Do you have friesian Cattle in New Zealand too?
Thanks! Yes we have a lot of Friesians, the most popular cow breed in NZ would be the Kiwi cross I think (mix between jersey and friesians)
Nice
I was surprised at the way you took the low boughs off the trees in the last video. Does that not damage the trees in any way? Cheers.
Nah, the trees are all good and keep growing 👍
Those trees were Australian gum trees, tough as old boots.
Busy like a bee
👍
Beautiful Milking cow Y.Am un Uruguay Countree y AM farmer y love Jersey cow

Hi Eric here I milk jersey crosses on the other side of the world in Co Down ni but it all looks very familiar.enjoy your videos

Awesome and not to much different than in Ireland, just not as much rain.
Thanks Eric!
@@TheOnceADayFarmer Temperature is a major difference as well!
What product do you use to spray out weeds in the paddocks so not to kill the grass and clover ?
We use Baton, but there’s a guy at farm source in town called John, if you have any questions regarding spraying ask him, he used to be a spraying contractor and knows his stuff!👍 I ask him stuff all the time 😂
What a beautiful heifers. How do you breed them until 6 months? Thanks!
Sorry can you do that question again please? But thanks 🙏

I would like to learn why you only put two, not three of your mobs on the feed pad when your aim was to have it all grazed? Thank you (7 years old)
Can’t fit all the cows on the feed pad together unfortunately and it’s in the wrong spot, it’s not close to the milking shed so only one herd goes on it
Any reason why you don't put that tag in when the EID goes in?
Shoulve kept watching 😉
👍
