I just found a Toyota Sequioa 2001 S5 4X4, with 195,000 miles for $2400... BUT... not sure if I should get it bcuz the timing belt broke previously. It's repaired and runs great but I'm wondering if it could have any potential problems down the road (pun intended!)... it's in great condition otherwise. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have noticed that street and track racers have very pretty Mustangs...ALL RUNNING CHEVY LS V8'S. I also run to the junkyard, because lots of brand new Muscle cars with low mileage engines from a car some kid wrecked are just waiting for me to pick for $3,000 to $8,000. A Coyote V8 is gonna cost a LOT MORE. I'm gonna be easy on my wallet and keep using GM engines in my Camaro like EVERYBODY ELSE. There is only 1 dude that Wins 1/8 mile races with all Ford SVT parts is Mustang Mike.
In December I bought an 2006 Toyota Sequoia Limited for my wife and soon to come child. 155k miles and $11k out the door paid off. I love this vehicle. Handles so well and no lag in the power. Climbs hills no problem.. And to top it off, Scott inspired me.
Congrats! I was very lucky last year to find original owner and picked up a 2005 with 111,000 miles! I love the car but not 4X4. So I just found a 4X4 2001 with 195,000 miles for $2400! But, the timing belt did break previously and he just fixed it. It seems to run great. I'm not sure if I should get it bcuz I'm concerned something detrimental might happen later from the belt breaking. Anyway, enjoy your vehicle👏
Straight to the point lol I love it. I bought my 06 GT last year and absolutely love it. I do regret going with an automatic if i'm being completely honest but i'm glad the early S197's got a shout out in this video; bullitt or not! Good stuff :)
Well, the 1985 Mustang GT was the last of the carbureted ones, with a Holley 4 Barrel, a 5 speed manual transmission, a 3.08 limited slip differential, and I wasn't exactly known for driving "economically." 😉😉😁
I've been turning wrenches since 1992 and I've never seen a wheel bearing failed to the point of a car accident. But I know it can happen so I would never tell a customer its alright to drive on a bad wheel bearing.
Scotty, I have a `91 Silverado w/5.7L-700r4 trans, 300,000 miles. Still runs great. I check fluids weekly when I get gas. Oil has been changed when it starts to get dark, not by mileage. Only wix oil filters used. Changed oil last week and cut filter open, no sparkly bits. Trans started slipping a little so I had it rebuilt. That`s the only major repair it has had. Best part....NO rust!! Stay safe Scotty.
Better than I thought. What a great track car. That Bullet rocks. The Avalon for the commutes, and large family. Sequoyah, gas hog for large family. Very capable with 4 wheel drive. No on the Silverado.
Love your channel . I have a 2014 mustang gt track pack with the 6 speed manual. 70 k miles , no issues whatsoever. Just did a 600 mile road trip , 21.5 mpg average at 80.
I bought an '06 Mustang GT new, I was a Ford dealer order guy/inventory/trade manager - best car I ever had..Replaced tires, brake pads, and an alternator. Kept it eight years, low mileage. - on 60K, I lived close to work...traded it for a '14 Fusion SE, then another two - now I have an AWD, 2.7 TT Continental Reserve. Awesome old man car..Hot rod Lincoln.

Scotty is right on Toyota's being VERY particular about their replacement parts. I learned the hard way when I tried to use aftermarket engine mounts. Ironically found the mounts much cheaper through the Toyota dealer. Lesson learned.

Lol Like I said I'm a Mustang Fan.
Thank you for making this video. I’ve been wanting a Toyota Avalon. Was debating between the Camry or Avalon but I like the roomy and luxurious Avalon 👍
There are also other vehicles to buy that are reliable and fuel-efficient - Mazda 3, Mazda 6, older Mitsubishi Lancer from the mid-2000's, newer Mazda Tribute with the 3 L V6 from 2009 to 2011, Hyundai Tucson, 2009 or 2010 Hyundai Sonata with the 2.4 L four-cylinder, etc.
I have the old 98 1500 4x4 Silverado , I bought it almost 13 years ago for $6,500.00 the best vehicle by far that I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of trucks in my life mostly Fords! I really haven't had to do anything to this truck, has 225,000 miles and doesn't use any oil between oil changes! I love the 5.3 L
Yep the Tremec 3650 5 speed transmission is a good one. I have one in my 2007 Mustang GT. I get 26 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg in town. Oh, and my. GT has 40,000 miles.

Hi Scotty, I bought an 89 Toyota pickup 22R. It’s my dream truck and I plan to keep it for life. It has 250,000 miles on it and runs fine. As far as I know it’s had no rebuilds and still has the original engine. When should I consider a rebuild or replace the engine?
When I made my Boss 302 Purchase, I was aware that might I have to get a new trans. Im about to Change the Clutch so hopefully that helps prevent the Transmission from premature failure.
What year is it? If its one of the newer ones, when the clutch goes, you also lose the motor. Last one I did didn't even make it to the first oil change.
I rebuild my busted front hubs on Nissan D21 and used castrol lithium grease that resistant to high temperature , never had any problems , changed 2 times the grease in 6 years. *you should try it on back/noisy bearings.

I am thinking of buying NEW, is there ANY new car out there worth buying? Maybe the RAV4? Help me please! Thank you for your wise advice. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your paycheck may not be reliable enough to afford new over time. So if you have something reliable, perhaps you should keep and maintain it. Maybe watch some Dave Ramsey car videos.
If your wheel bearing is whirring but doesnt have any play, replace it. The thing seizing isnt fun. I saw a tacoma that did that and the driver kept on going. Long story short the entire wheel hub ground off and the wheel fell into bushes on the side of the highway. The hub was red hot and caught fire to the bushes it fell in.
My Rhino of a Chevy Express 2500 van with 208k miles works beautifully, Peeling paint & all. Happy with the 408 v8. Shifts a little hard if you don't pay attention. Back off a hair, and let it shift smoothly ....
I bought a crashed 2008 Bullitt Mustang last year and a 2007 V6 Mustang with a blown motor and clean body. Going to swap everything from the Bullit, down to the wiring, over to the V6 shell so the Bullitt will live on. I would be done already, but its really hot here in Phoenix in the summer and I have customer cars that always take priority.
That V-6 is a pretty good motor I think. I have one with a roots blower on it. But it has a cheesy timing gear chain tensioner that can fall apart at about 70,000 miles, (along with those trashed steering parts at about the same mileage), and do internal engine damage. Is that what happened to the one you picked up?
Scotty I had a 1986 built very late in the year. You could say it was a 1986 1/2. I special ordered it. I did NOT want the hatchback GT. I ordered basically a cop car--the regular coupe with all the GT drivetrain 225HP 5.0 302 engine) and suspension, with highway gears and the 5 speed manual transmission. It got 18-20 mpg around town and 26-30 mpg on the highway. CONSISTANTLY. I am the type of guy who calculates the gas mileage WITH EVERY TANK in all the 78 cars I have ever owned. I do this mostly to determine when they need a tune-up or if something wrong is going on with the car (a habit obviously acquired long before cars had computers). I was shocked to hear how poor fuel economy OTHERS got with their mid 80s and 90s 302 Mustangs. And believe me, I did not baby this car. I drove it like it was meant to be driven. I would love a 1987 GT drivetrain in a 2005-2009 Mustang.

I am thinking of buying NEW, is there ANY new car out there worth buying? Maybe the RAV4? Help me please! Thank you for your wise advice. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Toyotas are worth buying new, but maybe you could compromise with a CPO preowned? They have a really good warranty with Toyota and lexus.
Your paycheck may not be reliable enough to afford new over time. So if you have something reliable, perhaps you should keep and maintain it. Maybe watch some Dave Ramsey car videos.
what did you get?
If your wheel bearing is whirring but doesnt have any play, replace it. The thing seizing isnt fun. I saw a tacoma that did that and the driver kept on going. Long story short the entire wheel hub ground off and the wheel fell into bushes on the side of the highway. The hub was red hot and caught fire to the bushes it fell in.
My hardworking brother has the exact car, 08 bullit sitting in his garage with only 5k on the odometer. He bought new.
Great! Tell him to drive it more.

I have a simple gt 2007 with 215k miles still original clutch they are indestructible and sounds amazing. They are simple and fun
good stuff...luv the Mustang Bullitt
My Rhino of a Chevy Express 2500 van with 208k miles works beautifully, Peeling paint & all. Happy with the 408 v8. Shifts a little hard if you don't pay attention. Back off a hair, and let it shift smoothly ....
Scotty: “You don’t buy a Sequoia to rock crawl. They’re people movers!”
Me: “........both is good.”
What I love is that he isn’t a Ford but, or a Mustang nut, or a V8 nut...he just knows a good combo when he sees it!

Hi Scotty I got a 2021 Toyota Corolla hatchback se cvt did I make a good decision?
The easy answer is yes
Nope 👎 should a got a manual.
Cvt? Boooo
I don’t know how to drive stick sorry
And there were no more in stock
