  • Working with geometry nodes and need to make your instances all different colors? Here's the tutorial for you! This'll work for any mesh you can create in Blender and is fully procedural.

Glad to know it helped! Same thing happened to me, and that's why I made the tutorial in the first place 👍

Thx for the tutorial, but how do I make the instances have the same color as the texture from the original mesh? Like Legofying an object for example

This is wonderful. I have added a random value node to the instances on points node to create smaller and larger objects at my points, and I would like to assign a color based on the random scale value. Any ideas on how I would do that?

What is I would like instead, a rectangle instead of a sphere. I mean the overall shape....

    you must be kidding?
so we need to hard code the number each time?

HI, THANKS FOR THE TUTORIAL, DO YOU KNOW WHY THESE PARAMETERS ONLY SHOWS WITH EEVEE ? WITH CYCLES IT´S NOT WHOWING UP

Huh, well it should work for both Eevee and Cycles...All I can think of is maybe there's an added geometry or shader node in your setup that only works in Eevee, or somehow the "realize instances" got moved after the "capture attribute" node?

Same here. Doesn´t work with cycles.

hi @@georgemakes, is there any solution ...?

Confirmed. This only works in EEVEE. In cycles, all blocks are the same color. All nodes are in the same location as in your video.

I moved the "capture attribute" node between "Distribute points in volume" and "Instace on Points" then it can work with cycles, hope it's helpful for you

Don't name the attribute color. Anything else :).

This wasn't very clear and it doesn't work anyway ... waste of time
