  • The most affordable Water purification system will always be DI or Deionization. Using ion exchange mixed bed resin. Here I show you our 1/2 cubic ft tanks and how to refill them with new resin.

Question. Do you have to put gravel at the bottom ? And do you need free bor space in the tank ?

No gravel required. Just fill with mixed bed resin. Leaving a few inches of space at the top in order to screw in the cap and riser tube.

I finished my first house/job today. After packing up my equipment, I can hear water still inside my DI tank. And I supposed to dump the water out every time I’m finished or leave it in the tank until the next job?
Please answer would be greatly appreciated!

You can leave the water inside. No need to drain it.

Do you need to fill the whole tank up with the resin, or can you fill it up with less in hopes of less output gallons of purified water?

So for starters, filling around 3/4 is a nice balance between being able to close the screw lid but also longevity between changeouts. Volume can improve by allowing the water to pass through at a slower rate(more contact with the resin beads). That said, if you’re low on replacement resin, you can fill it less like half or even a 1/4 and so long as the tank is upright and the water flow is turned down, you can purify the water but less beads available will return less overall output of purified water.

Hold a little less than 1/2 cubic ft of resin, so by my calculations, around 11-12 ltr.

I'm a friend. I am a window cleaner. How long can you keep a bag of resin for once it has been opened

After opening, reseal bag. Don’t leave it by a heat source (or in a vehicle in the sun). Preferably stored in an air tight container. Can last up to about six months under ideal conditions as described above.

Would you recommend this tank to fill up once a week 100 gallon fresh water tank? ... Any suggestions? ... Nice video.

No, the DI tank produces non-potable water. Its free of minerals but still not good for you to drink.

Not for drinking - Can it make the 100 gallons? - For the carpet shampoo business - I understand the resin will need to change more often but what do you think? - Another size tank?@@WCSkills

This size tank will get you 3-5k Litres before you have to change the resin depending on your water quality
