Glad you put this up, great video. My company has a customer that needs help with this. We have the resin but our customer cut the bags! Does anyone know how to get more of these bags with out the resin? I'm sure there's a particular micron size that's used.
They have changed the design slightly in the latest model of the hydro power, but maybe you could use a pair of old tights?😆👍🏼
So the bulk resin is from unger too?
That is the reason why I kept the old system .. I can refill it myself .. if my RO 40 is too big for an order then I love my old one (with the 2 bags) .. but if next year one Van is bought then only via tank and the old one is mucked out ..

Great video. Have you tried cheap nylon stockings as replacement to bags? Can keep them long so you can just knot the end.

Hi my friend I have a question I just bought the hydropower the small one, I just used two times and the water label is on 7 already the resin bags are expensive can I get DEIONIZER RESIN that is not Unger brand and do it the same wait you doing
Andrew R It’s difficult to pinpoint your problem without knowing more about the situation. If there has been a long time between uses there could still be a deterioration of the resin. Also it’s good to drain the water out between uses. I believe resin can be regenerated, but most window cleaners just stick to replacing it with the best quality available.😃👍🏼
I just purchased a unit last week...I was thinking about putting a inline RV filter on inlet from garden hose, to save the resin. What's your opinion?
An RO filter won’t supply the water you need with enough pressure. So that’s why you need a system with a pump attached.👍🏼
A clear word of caution direct from Unger is to ensure you only use pre-Soaked resin as dry resin expands and can damage the internals of the DI chamber

So the resin from the 25l bags need to be soaked before putting in the 6l black ones?
Maybe instead of 6 liters, use 5...for expansion?
Looking at getting the new ultra. I see they have what looks like a sealed resin cartridge instead of the bag.
Can these also be refilled?
I don’t think so. But you could always use an old pair of tights instead?😆 or it is possible just to use loose resin.👍🏼
My unger hydropower has just started pissing out water through the fast lock where the spring is has any of you had this before or got a solution for it
I've taken the top off so many times to see if Ive done anything wrong. All I e got from unger is the green resin bag isn't sat correctly.
No I have never heard of that before. Sorry. Maybe the supplier who originally sold it to you could help?

Glide Cleaning Limited Yes you can. But it can be a bit messy. The idea of this was to find a way of using loose resin but keep the convenience of the bags.💦😃👍🏼
Hi Ashley, i have the smaller version of your system. The bags are connected with a plastic piece, do you have any idea if you can do the refill with those as well.
Yeah, they changed the design slightly since I did this video. You can still do it like this if you can find your own permeable bags, or maybe some old tights?😉👍🏼

Hi what reading is your tap water? How long does that last?
Nic Mac My tap water is around 500ppm. Very hard. So a bag of resin only lasts a couple of days or so. Not very cost effective.😃👎🏼

I guess so. You could use an attachment to connect to an inside tap, or some people use this resin filter with their van system.👍🏼
Do you have the new Ultra system? I can see the bags are a lot different so i was wondering if those can be refilled also :)

I know I am a little late but do you recharge your media? It really isn't that hard, and just takes a couple chemicals and a little time.
Yeah, I know it’s possible but I’ve never tried it. With the time and cost of the chemical, would it really be worth it? I don’t know.👍🏼
I think they hold 4.3 kg each I do the same thing I like how you secured the bag in the bucket

Where do you buy your loose resin from and how much do you pay for it please?

Just one more question if I may : if I loose the loose resign instead using the bag, should I fill the unit fully in order to get the best out of it? If so, that would take a lot more than just 6 kg per refilling right?

Yes, fill with resin and compact it in to get the best out of the device. It is far easier and less messy to use in bag form. I will do more tips on this soon. Hope you find the channel useful.💦😃👍🏼

In my area the water tds is very high so would end up going through lots of resin

You need an RO System bud. Mines the same. I get it dow to about 19PPM with my RO system that cost £40 with Filter off Amazon!

@@xlwindowcleaning5164 can you help with tips on how to attach them filters to this unger unit? I live in London , ppm here reads 470 which is very high. I am using a bag every 2 jobs.. Ridiculous...
Hi bud. So I run a RO system to a Water Butt. That brings it down to about 19PPM (mines about the same at the tap). I then use a Hozelock Pump to pump it from that Butt though the DI system. Hope that helps!
I did this last week and my tds is already at 4 which is not good at all..the bag I used was still damp and was a little fraid in one place..not convinced. Cant see where I've gone wrong tbh ash
Radz Radszz5 You need to store the resin you are not using in a sealed container. Once you open it and expose it to the air it can start to deteriorate. Also, what is the TDS of your tap water. If it is very hard your resin won’t last as long.😃👍🏼
No this Is new resin mate I meant, not re using. I live in devon my water is very soft. Not sure why its doing it tbh

I only have the single one not the double like yours..will try again when I need fresh resin and use a completely dry bag.

I’ve never tried, but I think they wanted to make them more tamper proof.😆👍🏼
