Maybe it's the hairs porosity. When I had high porosity hair water penetrated my shafts better and you could see my pattern. Now that I have low porosity hair it takes products to define them.

Maybe the just water comment is more common for looser curl patterns? I get these super pretty long gentle corkscrew shaped clumps (tighter at the ends) with just water but once dried I end up with mostly waves on top and loose ringlets in the bottom layers. I haven't tried any of your products yet because they're hard to find in stock in Australia.

My hair is naturally curly and and certain styles i wear makes it look kinda strait, so yes once im in the shower and my hair gets wet it does revert bact to it natural curl patern, using only water. However certain products will define your curl pattern and enhance what you already have on your head. I love my curls but that hair cream definitely seem worth trying out. My hair does curl with water 4a or b very tight shrinkage them when it dries its a fro unless i use eco styler but it gets flaky with eco. This gel looks moisturizing but not tacky or strong enough for my hair 😅
There’s no one all be all to our hair. Water curls my hair up so pretty. No product. That’s just her hair. It may need to be cleaned first idk or it may be low porosity and need to be soaked with warm water. Or maybe peoples hairs is not the same…Thanks for sharing
My hair does that with just water but after an hour or two it poofs into a fro and you can't really see the definition anymore but if I touch it I can still feel the coils in place.

Does not the water dries mixed with the hair gel it dries out and can damage the hair. The hair becomes too dry and delmhydrated.
