My favorite REK song. So beautifully written, it takes you down that flight of stairs where you see it all , and feel it all....just like you're there.
I still can't believe you're done touring. You certainly deserve it, but I'm so gonna miss your shows. My wife and I were fortunate enough to catch your last show at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Thank you for so many years of incredible albums and concerts! Much love!!
Dear Mr. Keene. Thanks so much for all you have done in these past few decades. Your music matters in the most profound sense. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
This somg always brings back that perfect spring day when life somehow is hitting on all pistons and you meet new good people at the bar and you never want it to end. Met the love of my life on one of these days then she broke my heart three years later but this song brings back so many good feelings ❤
Getting your heart broken is one of the truest, strongest most real things a person can go through. I feel bad for people who will never have their heart broken. Maybe you should pull up those old memories and write a song (or a poem) about it. It doesn’t even need to rhyme!
My favorite song! And the best concert I've ever attended was Robert Earl at Gruene Hall, July 1999, with my sister. The hall was about 110 degrees and full of Aggies (which my sister and I are not!). But the Aggies bought us beer and made sure that we, old ladies that we were, didn't injure ourselves getting down from standing on the picnic table benches! I've seen Robert Earl numerous times since, but nothing will top that one!
Every time i see this video, it gives me pride in my friends, and how awesome they are. Brian on guitar in white cowboy hat, and Noah in ball cap behind REK. I was at this show as well, just grinnin ear to ear the whole time!
With Jerry jeff gone. You are my true north my man. Please keep my love of Texas music going!
lots of smiles and a couple of tears. I am so lucky to have been born when I was
One of the best feeling songs ever written!

If you are ever in Bandera, Texas stop by Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar saloon. That’s the place this song is about.
I think it's also about Heaven.
