Let me tell you something about this man I ordered a poster off of his sight and I ordered an autographed and even though they didn't have one and I had to wait 3 months from to come back in there and get one autographed he personalized it to me this man is the real deal
Clint. Wow. I"m an old 5andimer and let me tell you, I fell in love with the Allman brothers band in '69. Worked out with them to this day. In the mid 80s, i happened to know a chap that traveled the backroads of Texas working which meant he hit all the juke joints. Leaving out on a road trip, I asked if I could take one of his cds. I said the one with that corpus christi song. He gave me his entire collection. Jerry Jeff Walker, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Nanci Griffith, tom Russell, Butch Hancock, Darden Smith, James McMurtry, Ray Wylie Hubbard and of course Guy Clark. I went from ABB to REK and I don't mind that I only listen to REK mostly. I'll toss in some other texas outlaw occasionally, but I can listen to REK night and day. BTW, in Kerrville, at his yearly benefit concert for Hill Country Youth, I figured out a way to get a pic with him and my son about 4 years ago. Truly a memorable evening. That night, the band tried out a Van Morrison tune, Wild Night, in prep for a Carnegie Hall Van Morrison tribute. Sounded awesome and he seemed genuinely pleased when I said "the belfast cowboy would be proud." I've never heard or seen it on cd or anywhere.
thanks so much for posting this! Have been REK fan for about 3 decades now, and nice to have a current show with lots of energy! great sound and video quality :-) how things change though...Rich and Marty are no longer in the band, and he is hanging up touring and performing in just a couple days - the last show at Floores Country Store on Sept. 3 apparently great but sad article in the wapo about this was published on July 24 if you are interested...
