Been a REK fan for 25 years. This is probably my favorite song of his and now this is my favorite version of that song. That mandolin and fiddle were amazing

I remember seeing him for the first time in College Station Tx in a bar that's was full in 1991. When I say full I'm talking nuts and butts. Anyway I was stunned at this young man and his song writing. Been a rabid fan since!!

Yellowstone just dropped this song during a 1990s flashback with young rip in the bunkhouse. God this music is infinitely better than most of the modern crap they play on that show.

What can I say? I love REK! For me, this real music! Him, Guy Clark, John Hiatt and bands like Reckless Kelly are why I pick up the guitar every day. Truly inspiring, as is this performance is by Robert Earl Keen. Shades of Gray is my favorite REK song too.

Robert Earl Keen, you make me feel the wind beneath me whenever i hear your voice and music. you make me feel what dedication to suceed must feel like. while i did not have that inside of me, i always love listening to someone who did. thank you so much for staying with it.

Why so many Feds? Oklahoma late April '95. The OKC Bombing. I love how REK blends that into the story so effortlessly, and most don't even remember it...

REK's "bluegrassing" of this has taken it to new heights

“These are just some sorry kids, they ain’t the ones.”
That line still gives me chills. The desperation to find the bombers was unreal.

what's so funny is every body else is immobile and he's back and forth jamming.

April 19th will always be in my heart ❤. Lost many friends and colleagues that day. Now a memorial on that site and OKC is finally rejuvenated downtown.
