I was looking at these last year and really considering one but I have to say I checked the prices locally (Europe, not UK) yesterday and they went up 20%. I don't blame Royal Enfield themselves, inflation happens to all of us and these are inexpensive bikes but 20% hurts. Did they go up in UK as well?
Great looking bike, and, oh the extravagance! 8 colours! I’d seriously consider one were it not for the pegs, not a fan of mid pegs and heel-toe shifter but I guess it’s part of the cruiser vibe. It may put some newer riders off though. Looks like just enough power for country lines and light touring. Excellent review.
Royal enfield, also, do a couple of other variations on this 350 bike, that don't have the forward pegs, and the heel/toe shifter. The 350 Classic and, now, the 350 Hunter. I don't think the Hunter is available in the UK yet, though, as it's only just been released. The Classic is a wonderful looking bike.
I suspect that the forward pegs allow the seat height to be lowered. 765 mm for the Meteor 350 versus 805 mm for the new Classic 350 according to the specs. That's a big difference, perhaps a deal breaker, for the 'vertically challenged'. The Interceptor, at 804 mm, was too tall for me.
The first thing I did when I got mine was adjust the shift level one notch up on the spline. Fairly easy to do, took about 15 minutes, now I can use the toe shifter as I always have, and just ignore the heel shifter.
Will the trippa gadget work with off line maps I wonder? Otherwise you'll need to use your data all the time, expecially ifvyou want to have a small tour in Europe.
I did test drive one for 2 hour and half, around 150km on different roads and city, did not like it. Too slow and too heavy, weird seating position. Bad brakes and my back hurt after 10min. No falls in the range of bikes to give a wide berth.
@@Englishbikerdan then it's barely run in. Mine is at 6,500kms and is much eased, and a friend with 10,000kms on the clock on hers informs me it continues to improve with the miles
Looks like you did this review about the same time as you did your new sv650 you bought. Did this bike influence your decision to get the sv650 over more powerful bikes?
Royal Enfield have 60+ years of selling basic motorcycles to the masses. They know what people want and with the VAST array of accessories available and the very well established spares specialists out there, it will be a winner for R.E. I do appreciate that other manufacturers offer "Better" welded frames for example, but Mr and Mrs Average won't care. They'll see the RRP and choose the R.E. over the costlier thing almost without exception. You can see this in the current sales figures for the Meteor. I've got the Benelli equivalent to the 350 Classic. It is a better made thing, but no accessories and a slow parts delivery network are really holding their sales back.
But, it could always use a little bit more power, I think that at 25hp, this would be absolutely lovely. However, India is RE's main market and manufacturers get a rebate on taxation (I think) if they produce motorcycles that go below a certain speed, I'm not too quite clear on this though so don't quote me on it.
No such taxation rebate. In India its all about what mpg your bike gives. And less horsepower means less stress to the engine which translate to a many many donkey years of engine life. But yes 25hp would have been more apt.
@@Englishbikerdan I actually test rode three Enfields today during a demo day, the 350, the Himalayan, and the 650. The 350 and 650 both look+sound really good, but I feel that the 350 and the Himalayan are underpowered. In contrast the Enfield 650 is a very fun motorcycle. My SV650 pulls a lot harder than the Enfield 650, but still, the Enfield 650 is definitely fast enough to be fun, I really enjoyed that test ride, it looks/sounds/feels great.
Got this model in the brown / bronze. But I can tell you I love the bike. But the tripper is 💩 if you loose mobile signal it just stops working. And Does not restart once it gets a signal. Don't take my word for it somebody has already done a video explaining how crap it really is.
Why aren't the engine, forks, and wheels painted silver and the fenders painted blue? I don't understand why pretty much all new motorcycles are so ugly. I don't see anything attractive about acres of flat black. Is flat black paint that much cheaper?
I noticed 1488 mi./(km.?) on the "clock"... I'm presuming that the bike has gone through a proper "by the Owner's Manual" break-in by this time; and she's ready for "road trials"; So to speak...
This would be miles. Not sure if it's had a proper break in, I'd assume so. These press bikes get ridden hard very early on so they never have it easy.
I like the bike but I wish 1. Higher top speed (140km/h), maybe liquid cool could help. 2. Better brake. 3. TCS. I just want maximum safety.😅 4. LED light all around. 5. Lower seat height, 70mm, to have a more cruiser like. I like 1. Shifter, keep my shoe clean 2. The navigation, it is better than nothing 3. Seat 4. Fuel consumption 5. Lower seat height 6. Speedometer

Sounds like you'd like the RE Classic 350. The heel toe shifter can be changed easily
TEC Parts in the North east do a conversion kit for the shifter. Look on their youtube channel about it.
The first thing I did when I got mine was adjust the shift level one notch up on the spline. Fairly easy to do, took about 15 minutes, now I can use the toe shifter as I always have, and just ignore the heel shifter.
Great video. I love mine
For the price its a excellent choice 😊
Can you buy that navigation, what is it called and how does it perform? Like the bike.
Will the trippa gadget work with off line maps I wonder? Otherwise you'll need to use your data all the time, expecially ifvyou want to have a small tour in Europe.
I wish they'd kept the kick starter.
+1...

Have you also driven the Interceptor or the Continental GT??
No this is my first RE.
🏴Scottish Biker Alex ……. I have one of these in bronze brown, great little usable lightweight, British legacy and Indian economy 🇬🇧 🇮🇳
Ah my Scottish cousin! 😆 Great bikes aren't they!?
@@Englishbikerdan Works for me, but I have a couple of T100 Bonnevilles, one of them a combination 👍
The ' devils lettuce ' 😅😆😂😂😈😈

Awesome review sir 💗💗💗💗
I did test drive one for 2 hour and half, around 150km on different roads and city, did not like it. Too slow and too heavy, weird seating position. Bad brakes and my back hurt after 10min. No falls in the range of bikes to give a wide berth.
Where can you go to get a 2.5 hour test drive ?!
great review..
The brakes bed in after a few km and the engine loosens up considerably with a few thousand kms
It had over 1400 miles on it.
@@Englishbikerdan then it's barely run in. Mine is at 6,500kms and is much eased, and a friend with 10,000kms on the clock on hers informs me it continues to improve with the miles
@@andrewoh1663 Yeah but enough for the brakes to bed in. Bare in mind, these bikes don't do 1400 gentle miles. They are pushed hard from day 0.
Love from india❤️🇮🇳🇮🇳
They manufacture this bike in Milwaukee, WI , USA now 😏.
Looks like you did this review about the same time as you did your new sv650 you bought. Did this bike influence your decision to get the sv650 over more powerful bikes?
I actually bought my SV back in April, it just took a long time to get delivered so no. Although this bike is great in its own right too.
South Asian are true bike lovers
This is the Meteor Supernova there is also a Meteor Stellar and a Meteor Fireball
There's 10 colours available here.
They get excellent miles per gallon/ liter
Bro, canyou make a video on bullet meteor 650cc as I am considering bying that.
I've been asking RE for one for ages. Sadly still no answer.
Does it come with tubeless tyres?
There are no spokes, so yes they're tubeless.
yes.
100kmph & 40kmpl. why look some whereelse. just bought meteor 350 & its used. saved a 1000 $$. fast enough to have fun.
Here in the USA, this lacks slightly higher speed and better suspension. Otherwise Triumph Scrambler 400x will eat Meteor's lunch easily.
If you're going on the freeway with a motorcycle, you're not having fun.
Why not 30? And then why not 35, 40, 45. Heck, 50. 60, 70.... 200. You see where I'm going. 😁
@@Englishbikerdan I mean dang...even the Hayabusa could do with an extra 25 hp...
@@romeldias 😂
No such taxation rebate. In India its all about what mpg your bike gives. And less horsepower means less stress to the engine which translate to a many many donkey years of engine life. But yes 25hp would have been more apt.
How would you compare it with your SV?
I wouldn't. 😉
If it's setup like the continental gt 650 the front brake feel can be greatly improved with a master cylinder upgrade.
Shortgun 650
Another classic video, soon everyone will be limited to 20 hp single cylinder. "To save the planet"
😂
@@blueheelerfriend8450 They banned all gas cars, vehicles , by year 2035 in California .

Do not rule out the Benelli 400 or the herald 400 - both classics but new - !
I can only judge what I get to ride.
Try classic 350
U just cant get a btr bike 4 the money, its the clear winner! 3 yr warranty! Abs!
Sorry to sound like a broken record, but it's STILL heavier than my old Bonneville, with half the horse power.
And none of that really matters.
How much do new Bonneville's go for these days 😋
What is a broken record exactly? And if it's broken, how does it even play?
🏍👍
Research counter steering br
Tires are crap. Change them out. Smokin' the Devils Lettuce is a classic.
Saw a 22 plate (IE brand new) RE last weekend. Hell's bells it looked ropey. finish didn't hold up well : in this fantastic SUMMER were having
Not good. I've had mine 8 months and 2000 miles and its like new in terms of finish. Holding out better than my previous suzuki did
@@Andy-ql7cp great to hear. I was always warned about KTMs. 4 years trouble free. Not got one now but....,..

Not at will per se
Got this model in the brown / bronze.
But I can tell you I love the bike.
But the tripper is 💩 if you loose mobile signal it just stops working.
And Does not restart once it gets a signal.
Don't take my word for it somebody has already done a video explaining how crap it really is.
rootbeer ?
Why aren't the engine, forks, and wheels painted silver and the fenders painted blue? I don't understand why pretty much all new motorcycles are so ugly. I don't see anything attractive about acres of flat black. Is flat black paint that much cheaper?
Can you review the keeway Benda bd300?
I noticed 1488 mi./(km.?) on the "clock"... I'm presuming that the bike has gone through a proper "by the Owner's Manual" break-in by this time; and she's ready for "road trials"; So to speak...
You can run her to where her "speed limiter" kicks in; but I believe if you go 55-65 max. ; You'll be OK ...
This would be miles. Not sure if it's had a proper break in, I'd assume so. These press bikes get ridden hard very early on so they never have it easy.
1488 Miles 💀
I like the bike but I wish
1. Higher top speed (140km/h), maybe liquid cool could help.
2. Better brake.
3. TCS. I just want maximum safety.😅
4. LED light all around.
5. Lower seat height, 70mm, to have a more cruiser like.
I like
1. Shifter, keep my shoe clean
2. The navigation, it is better than nothing
3. Seat
4. Fuel consumption
5. Lower seat height
6. Speedometer
Sounds like the honda 500 scrambler
I have two RE's now a 500 and a super nova! Love em both.
I do ride a 900cc sports bike as well but have more fun on the RE"s
