    Everything you see these dogs doing to the Coyote, that vary same coyote has done all it's adult life. It has done it to baby raccoons, young Turkey, fawn deer, likely a farm cat or two, sheep if it could find some unguarded by dogs even a newborn calf . What you see the dogs doing on a saturday is what a coyote does 7 days a week.

      Dylan Growing up poor I trapped as a kid, so I killed to improve our plight if not survive. One part of that was that I learned a lot about Coyotes, If you don't think a coyote or weasel. or raccoon kills for sport. . . . . you have never see the inside of a hen house after they are done. The reality of the wild is vary . . . . Sport Take Wolves, ruclips.net/video/BXCvLzDNWz0/видео.html They ain't hunting coyote to eat him, they are the Alpha he took, he would keep taking, he would breed and his offspring would keep taking meat from the wolve's kill, so he died. I don't think the wolves thought it through, they didn't reason it out, it's a million years of the predator that took the game protecting their kill. Wolves also kill wolves LOTS and LOTS if there is a dispute over territory. Why? Because if a pack allows other packs to hunt the herds in it's territory then some day when things are lean that pack starves. All that is left are the packs that won't tolerate others predation. We have that same million year instinct. You just don't have any lambs that need to survive for you to provide for your family. If you did, you would sick the dogs on a coyote as well.

    • @saoirse5308

      Wow Dylan that is a lot of supposition on your part, Yes he says something to the affect that he hunts them mainly for the sport, then goes on to talk about selling the furs and controlling the population. So think of it this way, the last time you had your favorite meal, you ate it mainly for the enjoyment. What plants and/or animals gave up their lives for your enjoyment? But But I was also hungry! But but he also sells the furs! But but I gained nutrition my body needed! But but he is controlling the population *NOT* at a zero damage done by coyotes but at a manageable damage level.
      "Territorial killing among predators has nothing to do with sport or entertainment. " So a million years of our having to do something to servive and you don't think we have found a way to make it fun? Or you don't think those wolves weren't having fun? Or you think you're god and you can just make a million years of survival instinct go away because it make *You* feel bad?
      So it makes total sense to you that, women *WANT* to have kids. Want to spend months looking like they are smuggling a watermelon only to go through intense pain, then for the next two years to be a slave to the beck and call of some tiny needy narcissistic trirant? You think it makes total sense that a women should want even crave all that, even though up until 150 years ago it was likely to reduce their life span if not outright kill them, but not that a man should get enjoyment out of the tasks he has had to do to keep that women and child safe?
      You think your cat goes after that "cat toy" because ??????What? Because there is a million year drive that says to chase it. Now your cat might live in a nice apartment and never kill a thing in it's whole life, but put it in the barn at a farm and it will kill a mouse the first day, even if you leave food out for it all the time, it will soon become a "mouser" waiting cramped and cold for hours on a ledge to pounce on a mouse for sport. Well up until some coyote eats your poor cat. Damn coyotes anyway!
      " It’s also been proven that hunting coyote creates a higher population ultimately as coyote reproduce faster if their populations are under threat." And if they are not controlled?? Did you look that up? In most areas they are on a ten year cycle with the rabbit population. So as rabbits peak so do Coyotes, then the rabbits crash and there is an extremely high Coyote population that is starving, so they eat the lambs, chickens, cats, puppies, the baby everything but it's still not enough and winter sets in, and they hunt each other, and it's still not enough so many starve, getting a meal here a road kill there, but never enough, hungry day after day, with no energy to keep warm they can't hunt at night and eat ever less and less, after weeks & weeks of always cold always hungry something gives out, heart liver, and they die not chased by dogs for 20 minutes and then killed, they *STARVE* Just want to be clear that is the end you want for them Right? Because it makes you feel better.

      Dylan you say "you are conflating the instinct of a predator to hunt and its perceived subsequent enjoyment, with the concept of sport" No, you are just denying that man is that predator. Sport was the word the Jeffs Wonderland used, the one you picked up on. I simply pointed out that other top predators act in the same way driven by the same instincts.
      Cite your study. Lets see it. Coyotes increase and spread when hunted at a higher rate then when left alone *&* spread when hunted, which is why the coyote have spread into nearly every city in the continental U.S.
      I want to see this "study" Just show a link right down below, let's see this study *THEN* we will talk about the wolfs Goals and Jeff's goals I'll wait

      jasper wyoming,
      So let's talk about the relationship between dogs and man, the low number is 6400 years since the first canine likely made advances to form a symbiotic relationship with early man. How long ago was that, well there were likely no white people yet. Think about that, man has been hunting in a relationship with dogs since before the first caucasian. I have a longer lineage hunting with hounds then any caucasian has with their race. It is as natural for my dog and I to run off or kill a wolf as it is for a wolf to run off or kill a coyote, as it is for a coyote to run off or kill a fox or raccoon.
      I do like how you say " Your logic is that because the coyote kills in this way, its OK for me, a supposedly far more advanced animal, to do the same" I would *never* presume to tell you what is ok for you. Though it does seem *you* are happy to presume lots of things about me.
      I just want to make sure I understand this, as best as we know, man has been a hunter for least 2 million years, has worked side by side with canines for six thousand at the least. And if I tell you I knew at a very young age (5 or 6) that I viewed animals from a hunter's perspective, even though I had no relation to an active hunter closer than a dead Grandfather (so I was not influenced by adult activity) . If I tell you I have had a kinship to hounds from the first one I ever met. If I say from that early age, when my parents would stop a car to look at a deer because it was "pretty" that while I could see the beauty of the deer, I also saw the angle of the ridge would allow me to sneak near to the deer if I were to crawl. If I tell you that. And if I add that the hound is doing what we have done together for thousands of years. You still think That a houndsmen being a houndsmen and letting a hound be a hound is " like some sick sadist"?
      But if I told you that I have known that I was different from other people and I knew it at the age of 5 or 6, that I viewed men in a way boys my age didn't. If I told you I was gay, you would be fine with that, wouldn't you? But just a little over 200 years ago being gay was thought to be so destructive, so evil, so sick you could still be hung for it in the British Navy. In my youth gay men would be beaten, fired from their jobs, pushed out of their churches if it were known.
      So are you so very sure, that 2 million years of hunting hasn't embedded an urge to hunt in me that is every bit as driving as a gay man's urge to have sex with other men? Or maybe like the rednecks waiting outside a gay bar in the 70s, so they could beat up a "fairy" . Maybe like them what upsets you is not so much what is going on, but how much, down deep inside you want to join in.
      I guess what I'm asking is when you say
      "you're a sick fucking dude, and a pussy. I wonder what kind of Daddy issues you have to deal with that makes terrorizing an animal somehow make the pain go away. Did Daddy always tell you that you weren't tough enough, or strong enough? When you set your dogs on an animal does it make you feel manly, do you call Daddy and tell him you killed another one? I see a scumbag who is just like the inner city thugs who are into dog-fighting, boys trying to figure out what it means to be a man. And failing."
      Just how much are you projecting?

    • @saoirse5308
      @saoirse5308 6 лет назад +4

      Jasper, You're kinda fun to converse with, you seemingly can't grasp an analogy when it is right in front of you & you lack introspection to such a level that you actually wrote " I do not have Daddy issues as my father ran out on my Mom when I was probably 3 or 4."
      Lets see if I can help you to see both the analogy & a little introspection as well.
      The analogy: One thing *Hunting With Hounds* for thousands of years and up until 70 years ago was widely excepted, considered a part of life and was a "proper" pastime for young men almost everywhere hounds & man coexisted. The other thing *homosexuality* up until 70 years ago was widely considered an abomination and 200 years ago a homosexual act could get you killed. The *analogy* is to compare two things where the participants are judged to be abominations because they are doing something that is natural to them. One,even though something like 97% of people do not, would not participate in it, has over the last 50 years become accepted while the other has become the abomination. The hatred of both is driven by emotion rather then thought or consideration.
      Ok on to introspection;
      So,
      A homeless family doesn't have a housing problem. their house burned down two years ago.
      An illiterate man doesn't have a reading problem, he never did learn to read.
      A man lost in the woods doesn't have a problem with his fire, the rain put it out around mid night.
      " I do not have Daddy issues as my father ran out on my Mom when I was probably 3 or 4."
      See how I worked both analogy & introspection into that? Slick like a fox.

    I grew up in the High Plains, and had an uncle who kept sheep worked with border collies. I never saw a coyote run, but knew folks who kept packs and did it. I fell in love with IW's and have had them as pets for over 30 years (I help with rescue). I have to admit I had mixed feelings watching it. I absolutely loved seeing them in motion in wide open land -- beautiful big hounds running full tilt boogie, doing the work they were bred to do, but was surprised they didn't kill it more quickly, I thought they were used over Greyhounds as kill dogs because they didn't damage the pelt. And even knowing the damage coyotes do to herds and pets hated to see it fight for it's life. Silly I know, but thank you for posting. And I think the narrative helps educate folks, you were straightforward about it.

They do have the capacity to run 40 km a day and warn out the animals and they are smart so in a pack they do operate well and can pin an animal until you can shoot them. That's what they were bred for to work in a pack and distract a lion for the hunter to shoot it.

We don't have many large open spaces in Phoenix but we sure have the coyotes. They are not afraid and they pace you if you're on a walk at night, it's a little unnerving when they do it in a pack. I've not heard of a person, here, being attacked, but they have learned to climb 6 ft block walls to get in backyards and attack littler dogs. The carcass info was interesting. I didn't know coyote pelts were coveted. While it may not be fun to watch a life being taken, it's good to know its not going to waste either. great vid

    I'm all for killing coyotes, but I can't abide harvesting an animal when you know and expect it to be a slow death. At the same time, I'm not going to tell another hunter how they should take part in this ancient art that means so many things to so many people. I do appreciate the videos. I understand the interest in the sporting side of hunts like this, and the drone makes it that much more accessible to understand how your dogs engage with their quarry. I only wish there were videos like this of Ridgebacks on lions. I still don't like that's going on, but I do appreciate the unique view of the practice. From one hunter to another though, I think this spotlight on your activities is going to only help those that would legislate against it.

I watch them with night vision in the dark open fields flanked in fours.. they send a smaller female that barks n lures a dog right out of the yard and soon as it does they are on it.. ive even seen footage of them running thru an open sliding glass door to nab a small lap dog right outta the living room and into the night.. they are getting out of hand..

      makes you think, doesn’t it? why suddenly are coyotes such a growing problem? maybe they’re becoming more stupid? or maybe they’re desperate? domestic cats have killed an estimated 1.3-4 billion birds ANNUALLY. one of coyotes main food sources happen to be birds, so what happens when someone lets their cat out, it leaves a trail of dead birds, then runs right back home at night? not to mention decreasing habitat, if humans hate coyotes and other wild animals coming into urban areas, why don’t they face the REAL problem head on, and do something about free roaming domestic cat populations and reforest?

    • @farmingDarkmoonblade
      @farmingDarkmoonblade 3 года назад +2

      @@notavailable1174 Coyotes originally got out of hand because we wiped out their major competition, wolves. Coyotes, like all canines, are incredibly intelligent and adaptable. Joe Rogan once had a guest on his podcast who claimed that two Coyotes got into his backyard while he let his dogs out to use the bathroom. According to the guest, one coyote pretended to be injured, his dog came up to investigate, and the 2nd coyote swooped in and nabbed the dog.
      So, I don't think they're becoming dumber or desperate, they've learned to adapt to urban settings. The coyote situation is very similar to the one the US faces with wild pigs. A very intelligent animal invades habits not designed to deal with them, and they absolutely flourish in terms of population. I would say that Coyotes are here to stay, we will never be able to get rid of them in their nonnative habitats.
      However, Coyotes may not be as much of a disaster as wild pigs. For example, you would think Coyotes absolutely devastate whitetail deer and wild turkey populations. However, the WV DNR claims that Coyotes do not pose a significant risk to either population and instead have become a natural predator in the Mountain State. I can't speak for other states, though.

    I’d like to say something to those that feel this is inhumane or the coyote doesn’t die fast enough there are 2 important things to keep in mind. 1. Coyotes kill their victims in this same manor and this is dog vs.dog. Not human vs. dog. Even though the humans have released the dog they are only there to pick up the dogs at the end of the hunt. this is what Wolves do to coyotes when they cross paths. 2. Coyotes don’t kill humanly. They start at the mid section do to its nutritional content. This usually takes15-20 min to expire. Consider that. Having said that, Great job guys. Great to see hounds at work. 👍

    Another important point to mention for the management is the absence of wolves in these areas. Wolf packs do the same thing to coyotes as these dogs are doing and they used to be here to manage the populations. In lots of areas wolves have been exterminated and the coyote populations go completly unchecked, they get way larger than they would have ever came close to with wolves in the area and spread diseases way faster between eachother. If humans werent here hunting them with dogs then there would be a pack of gray wolves keeping them in check instead.

Sometimes you hunt for your sport, other times, you let your dogs do the dirty work; keeps their reflexes and instincts on point.

    Where I live there are many coyote packs. They are wonderful. I love watching them . They don't mess with me and I don't mess with them. Yes I have a few big dogs but they just stay with me and we are fine.

    People have been using domestic breeds of dog to protect property, live stock etc, for thousands of years. We"ve got similar problems here in Australia with feral dogs, dingoes & foxes. No one can simply sit outside with a loaded rifle waiting for a dingo to show its ugly head. The best way to control them is to have dogs bred for the task. Thanks for the video.

      Pure dingoes like pure coyotes are actually rare and rarely ever appear near towns or cities. It's the dirty domestic dog crosses of the two which are the ones that got to be dealt with. They're usually easy to find as they'll be bigger and often times more aggressive. Also red foxes in Australia got to be shot on site so that's a given.

      Grew up on a 50,000 acre cattle ranch where we control coyotes with humane methods, haven't ever used dogs, and you can see in the video this is the opposite of humane. This is done for sport, the creator gets off on this.

    I have no problem with coyotes being hunted, for the reasons that you stated. I struggle with the methodology, which seems pretty cruel. It seem like a well-placed bullet would be quick and humane. Being torn apart by three dogs over an extended period of time seems brutal and maybe a bit vengeful. All coyotes are doing is trying to eck out a living. It’s natural for them to hunt to survive. They’re a disruptive pain in the ass because of that and they need to be dealt with. But maybe there’s a more humane way? We don’t need revenge, just population management.

      nobody can ensure a "well-placed bullet" on every shot. killing of any animal for any reason is often an unsavory undertaking. it's all part of the ugly side of life and living. the truth is often unpleasant.

    Hey man, im down for what youre doing, but you always need a killer pup in there. I know theyre young but still. The greyhounds are fast, but a mean rott, pit or german sheperd, etc, will dispatch them violently and quickly. It shows the others what needs to be done. And can save your pups if it gets hairy in there. Aside from that 3 inexpierienced dogs on one just fucking it up is dumb. Kill it. Dont play. Great video though man.

    Controlling the population of these coyotes is understandable, but having several dogs taking 15 minutes to kill and tear up the coyote is ridiculous. How valuable is the fur if it's shredded up?

  • @123Goldhunter11
    @123Goldhunter11 3 года назад +2

    Better to shoot it then enjoy watching it torn to shreds. That thing was as hard to kill as a hyena. I knew an old man years ago whose dad cruised coyotes, but one day they ran across a wolf - very rare back then. He said he could still remembering the whines of the dogs the evening crying out over their wounds.
