I don't believe his voice would have been powerful enough. He sings as per how he talks, thats one of his trademarks. It cracks, I love it! Just my opinion
He sang different when he sang on Family Ties... with less cracks... I guess he sings as his Light of Day character here... not as Michael J. Fox, if you understand what I mean...
