i used to drive my bosses 840CI and it had an annoying rattle. It took the dealer ages to find the reason. It turned out that it had blown the baffles in the exhaust. I really liked that car.
Of all the cars |I have owned since 76 including Jensens Interceptor and FF , an Iso Rivolta , Sunbeam Tiger , Many Alpines and MG's , and my current V12 series 3 Daimler (Japanese Import) not forgetting my 4 beautiful big Humber's The Stag is the only car I give myself a good hard kicking for selling whenever I see one on the road . Apart from the Mercedes 280SL roadster , there simply was nothing to touch the Stag in looks .
This video really interests me as I have been restoring an E31 1998 840Ci for a long time now. Mine will never be concours and is pretty high mileage, but really nice ones fetch a lot more than £12,250. I paid £4500 for mine in 2009, but it did look mint when I bought it. We'll see what happens if I ever get it finished!
Cheers... looks like it was off the road from 2007, someone put it in for an MoT in May 2010 (WD were looking for one in late 2009) but it failed badly - suspension bushes, shocks, corrosion, etc. My guess is its been scrapped...
@@oscarsgarage447 I understand. It's a shame, I like the Series 8 BMW. Btw, why not doing a video about all the cars that were rejected by Mike Brewer in the WD episodes? There aren't many, I think.
Pop-ups disappeared because the Yanks banned them due to pedestrian accidents. They felt the lights would cause more damage to a pedestrian going over the bonnet.
An e31 for £3500 those were the days..
Keep up the great work and ignore the haters.
Thanks!
The Triumph 3.0 V8 sounds lovely
I always look forward to these videos 😊
Glad you like them!
Another cracking video Trevor love looking back on the old wd cars
Glad you enjoyed it
Another good video that’s been well researched, I enjoy them and look forward to the next video.
Much appreciated!

Good luck with the resto!
The BMW 840 was exported to Ireland after being sold on the show, Mike Brewer mentioned it.
A guy on an Irish forum bought it. Big BMW guy. The forum is still going. I’ll post on it and see if anyone remembers it or has any info.
Brilliant! We do occasional updates so that would be great. Plus pleased my guess on location was right!
Toyota had the pop ups on the MR2.great vid.
Thanks!
Need to find that Stolen Fiesta.......so much work done to that........
If Mike can't find it, what chance do I have?
It went to Ireland, an Irish fella bought it, it shows him at the end of the show not sure if its still on the road.
I believe the 2 last cars to come with pop-up headlights were the Lotus Esprit and Chevrolet Corvette C5, both finishing production in 2002
Thanks, I was hoping someone would know!
I had an 840. Wonderful car to drive but I could never get over the horribly tacky plastic dash.
I always wondered what happened to the V12 BMW 850 that Mike refused.
Red one wasn't it?
@@oscarsgarage447 no it's another dark blue one. Number plate: H979 XUM.

Should do car sos or bangers and cash ,,
B&C a bit recent. But there might be a few stories with Car SOS... 😉
Thank you for calling it "Southern Ireland". So many people do not know the difference between Ireland and Northern Ireland.
No problem!
