This is so childhood 🤣 I used to watch Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law on [adult swim] in 2006 and I was a fan of The Colbert Report as well. Goddamn I miss those shows.
Everyone wants to be James Bond, Conan the barbarian, John Wick, Han Solo, Superman, Batman, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, but I want to be Phil. This is America's true hero.
Ironically, Gigi of the Galaxy Trio, interacts more with Birdman in the parody series than in the "double feature" original cartoon! Thanks for the video!!!
Brilliant character and portrayal by Colbert. Excellent selection of scenes as well, bravo @ironclock. I have to say, though - the Peanut bit with the "mole" edges out the rest in hilarity in my squirrel-infested head. Excellent inclusion. The voice (Thomas Allen) combined with the totally bizarre non-sequitur* Frida Kahlo reference (basically, some of her self-portraits) playing off the clichéd "You really should have that looked at" but making it so much weirder with the "reason" ... 🤣🤣🤣 One of the top scenes in the show, IMO (with the unfortunate minor weakness of being rather obscure, I think). * This show excelled at this type of humor - definitely a defining characteristic, but usually less specific / obscure ... not sure if there's more to that ref also, but wouldn't surprise me...
Colbert voiced to be Harvey but I'm glad they voiced him as Phil haha it's perfetto haha Phil couldn't have had a better voice over , the perfect vocal and the way he says shit as like a question and a demanded answer at the same time trying to sound up scale still haha
Phil's bit about employees complaining about not getting paid and "not considering the whole package", then listing off inane bullshit is a lot less parody these days, and a lot more... you know... real. Seriously, employers, if you're acting like the comedic depiction of the world's worst boss from a cartoon, you've probably fucked up somewhere.

God this show was ahead of its time.

This show that aped what Space Ghost, ATHF, and Sealab were already doing?
That is literally based off a SGCtC episode?
Agreed
Some of Colbert's best stuff

Okay, when Peter Potamus came out from under the desk I literally burst out laughing at 3 am
Nice little detail I noticed when he was juggling, he made sure the baby and the torche were never being held at the same time together
"Ring of power...don't know what that is..."
Christ, even the writing staff of Harvey Birdman knew Colbert was a Tolkien nut
"You don't have to whisper Birdman, he doesn't understand English" ROFLMAO

Phil Ken Sebben is like Ray from Archer crossed with Zapp Brannigan. And some of my favorite Colbert work.
Plus a tiny bit of Lionel Hutz.
The good ol' days, when politicians kissed hands and shook babies!
