    This was useful!! I have purchased the parts but couldnˋt figure out how to get access to the bolts. -Wondered if I really had to loosen the frame under the engine. Now I know...

      I just drilled holes in the floor to get at the sway bar bolts. I have 265K miles, so im not worried.

    I know from experience what a hard job that is. So cramped along the back of that subframe.

    • @JnJShiffler
      @JnJShiffler 4 года назад

      I have the subframe removed currently, broken control arm bent it. You know where I should look for the front impact sensor? The impact sensor is a one time sensor and needs replaced for sure? Is a simple continuity test applicable? IE it's either open or closed to indicate good or bad?

    Nice video and effort to film it. After all that work was it worth it? Any particular reason why you did it?
    I’m looking to replace my subframe bushings and was thinking of doing the sway bar while I had the frame disconnected

      @@Bigtime_mcalpine great vid, i'm exploring this project. this is valuable feedback. thanks. my rear isn't in need of service yet, and this comment has pushed subframe bushes and front sway bar replacement until (at least) the next front suspension service interval for me. cheers!

      If the sway bar bushings are shot like mine in my 08 xc90 they will cause alot of front end noise

    HELP. 2004 XC70 Front impact sensors. * Please tell me the location. * This car is making an ass out of me. Want to test to see if it latches closed or resets to open after a dash airbag went off. Sending out SRS Module to get reset. Doesn't seem to have wiring to detect if airbag is bad or impact sensor is bad. NOt positive though. But where the hell are they located? I have bumper and grill off and removed front right headlight. Following all cables, cannot find impact sensor. Wonder what color the connector is. HELP

    How did your oil pan hold up? I wanna do this job so bad but I'm so afraid of cracking my oil pan by holding it up with Jack lol. I think it would be OK but so many people have told me never support engine with jack under oil pan lo l

    • @Bigtime_mcalpine
      @Bigtime_mcalpine  2 года назад +2

      I’ve held up the engine on multiple occasions via the oil pan and never an issue. Just make sure your piece of wood spans the whole pan and you will be fine.

      Thanks for response I'm just gonna replace my sway bar with the oem part. I'm only doing it because my bushings are shot which is leading to clunking noises. I wish I could just replace the bushings but I'm told they're vulcanized to the sway bar so I have to get the whole sway bar
