The Hotel Del Coronado Construction and Early Days

A collection of great archival images of the construction and the first three decades of the splendid Hotel Del Coronado. The music in this video is variations on Nicolo Paganini’s Carnival of Venice. Andre Rieu conducts the Johann Strauss Orchestra.
The Rosemary Ann Phelan Photo Collection is a remarkable compilation of nearly 9,000 images of San Diego and environs prior to 1950. James Phelan has spent over a decade collecting these wonderful photographs and curating this trove of topical slide shows.
