I really liked this episode!!! It was nice to get background and insight on how Nidothing was born, and her joining The Rising Volt Tacklers seeing a perception of how Dot’s confidence has grown ever since meeting Liko and Roy as Dot and Nidothing. It was interesting to see Dot’s fighting style. While this storyline has been used before (Black and White Episode 49 with Bianca with her father, and XY Episode 53 with Serena and her mother) it was more interesting now because we got more backstory, we got to understand more of the parental perspective. I am so interested in Dot and her growth. In her battling, Quaxly learning a new move (Low Kick) and how she bonds and communicate with Tinkatink, and in her confidence. I am still waiting and hoping to see a Dot Vs Iono battle.
Seeing how upset Dot got being alone all the time was so relatable… I might be looking into this too much but it seems Dot was a bit depressed before joining the Rising Volt Tacklers… I’ve been dealing with creator burnout on RUclips too I COMPLETELY relate to her omg Also seeing her pre-friendship with Iono was unexpected but fun.
I absolute love that we got 4 main Pokémon learning new moves back to back. First Heal Pulse, then Disarming Voice, Magical Leaf, and now Low Sweep!! This is amazing development for our main trio. I LOVE the power up they’re getting. This episode was a favorite of mine. Seeing how Friede met Dot was so funny too. This episode was like an 8.5 / 10 for me.
I personally think that the objective of this episode (and of episode 9 with Liko) wasn't to make the audience think that they were leaving the rising volt tacklers but rather to flesh out the relationship between them and their parents to give more context as how their families and lifestyles were before joining the team. I also think this episode does a good job showing how Liko and Roy have learned how to deal with Dot. And in Murdock's backstory episode we saw what made him leave the bakery where he was working to find a new place, but not how he met Friede or how he got recruited by him. So there was probably some time between him joining the team and the moment where Dot joined.
I love comments like this because it genuinely continues the conversation points in my review, so thank you for that. (It's why I always call it a "review/discussion" section!) in my videos! I mostly agree with what you are saying, especially after going through this episode again for my video, I picked up on smaller details like Blanca never actually demanding Dot come home, but rather just wanting to talk with her about how the trial period is going. Like she said at the end of the episode, she really wanted to hear Dot say that she wanted to stay aboard the airship, so it's not like she was actively trying to bring Dot home. So while I now have a greater appreciation for that side of things, and how it's obvious that Liko's father and Dot's mother were used as plot devices to further strengthen our main character's devotion to the Rising Volt Tacklers and their goals, it also makes me care about the parents less as characters because they were just introduced to be the vehicle that helps Liko and Dot further their own character development. Now Alex is an afterthought in this series, and it wouldn't surprise me if Blanca becomes the same thing. Idk, it's definitely more nuanced that I made it sound in my video, but that's because I feel like I've learned more since I wrote my script, and conversations like this one have helped open my mind up more. It was pretty cool seeing Dot's Quaxly learned Low Kick, but I hope he'll learn a fourth move at some point like Aqua Cutter or Liquidation. Plus I hope someday Dot will use Tinkatink in a Pokemon battle.

I wonder if maybe Friede, Orla, and/or Mollie have any brothers or sisters as well? It would be interesting if they also have siblings as well besides Murdock. As for Ludlow I wonder if he has a son or a daughter and maybe grandchildren?
It's all possible! But I kind of doubt we see any of their family members, I think it will just be Liko, Roy, and Dot's families Well, and of course Mollie's Nurse Joy family

For Wattrel, I think it's just that it's a bit of an anti-social pokemon; it prefers his space & doesn't really like being social around too many others
I thought that this was a good episode to express Dot's character-backstory & development!!!!! I know some people have recently said that Horizons is going too slow upon doing things, but it needs to go at this pace to develop their own story & not rush it; it has to go against 25 years of its predecessor after all. And think of it this way: if we're taking our time in expanding Horizons story slowly, that means there might be a real chance we'll get Legends Z-A into the Horizons anime!!!
This gets a 7/10 for me. I like the way they have friede and dot interact as he also went through the same problem as her. There were a couple of negatives in this episode like Dot being a jerk to her own mother and lycanroc getting 1 shotted by low kick after it was untouched all battle so I can only go as high as 7

Quaxly getting that plot armor from main characters which is not surprising. We all know Lycanroc one shots a Quaxly in reality and in games. Writers should at least make Quaxly lose first then when it evolves, it can beat Lycanroc this time making it more believable
