One of my favorite scenes is when Alf starts delivering newspapers ( well he doesn't, Willie has to do it, haha ) and a huge pile of newspapers are brought into the Tanner livingroom in the early morning hours to be delivered to homes, and Willie comes into the livingroom and says "What's this?" And Alf replies "Newspapers, Willie. Get with the program." 😆

I grew up as a long time viewer of ALF that made me laugh and cry emotionally when ALF launched on NBC from 35 Years Ago when it first came on television in retrospect. After ALF ended it's four year run and 102 Episodes until ALF returned on his comeback in a Johnny Carson reboot on TV Land that lasted two seasons in 2004-06 was a short lived disappointment was none other than "ALF's Hit Talk Show" still missed it and it was a great primetime original and the loss of Mr. Ed McMahon who was a great announcer and host of both Johnny Carson Show and Star Search and he's now gone on. 😢🙏🏼🕊️💔

That one still was filmed with a life actor in a costum but the guy became later fired because of his aggressive salery bargening. The story that he was not wanted anymore in this role because he had called himself THE ONE AND ONLY ALF rather was a nice anekdote to often told. Still the scenes done with that small grown actor were ofteh recycled on the show.
Alf Fusco the puppetier became more famous then.
4:56 Yes !!; Max Wright gave the PERFECT Family Father in Alf. But it is said he also had an offer for playing the priest in THE FATHER DOWLING MYSTERIES what failed. Tom Bosley got that role as almost everyone knows.
There is also talk about Wright´s drug addiction but that must have been typical Hollyood gutter bush since he was working straight on.
6:05 Interesting the short portrait of Anne Schedeen, besides ALF she stayed practically unknown as an actress. Mosto of those other shows never run in most European countries. and in the series JUDGING AMY ( FÜR ALLE FÄLLE AMY ) she is not even mentioned on the German Wikipedia page to the series.
As a series ALF is still worldwikde known. Here in Germany, ther reruns are also comming up from time to time. After all it was a quality show.

The humor and actors were all top-notch, and the show also was much more clever and subversive than many give it credit for. Also, it has aged rather well and is still funny and enjoyable today, which can't be said for very 80s and 90s show. I'm from Germany, and here, the show was a massive hit in its day and is still rerun frequently. There were tons of merchandise (I still have an old Alf doll somewhere) and Tommy Pieper, the guy that did the German voice for Alf and did a fantastic job at it, even released some original songs based on Alf. There were also radio plays and books, sometimes even with original German stories not based on episodes of the show. I think no other sitcom ever had such a huge impact here.

I feel sorry for Paul Fusco. He’s a truly talented, funny and creative guy and created one of the most memorable characters ever and one of the best shows of the 1980’s. It’s sad to hear so many of the actors involved in the filming of this show do nothing but complain about how unhappy they were being upstaged by a puppet and how tedious the filming process was. They should be grateful for “Alf”,were it not for that show they wouldn’t be remembered today. Most of them never did much afterwards and certainly nothing as noteworthy as “Alf”. They were all also paid well for the work they did. Max Wright especially was really hard to deal with and rough on the rest of the cast. He detested the show and hated being associated with it. Supposedly when the last show wrapped he walked off the set without saying a word, got in his car and left. He was also involved in drugs during that time and later involved in a pornography scandal. It’s sad that so many of these people involved in television and movies turn out to be pretty seedy people in real life. You’d think they would all be happy to have been a part of such a successful show that brought so much happiness into peoples lives,a show that ensured they will be remembered forever as long as Alf is seen. To complain about long hours and being upstaged by a puppet when there are people paving roads in the sun and working hard, dirty jobs that pay far less and for which they get no recognition just baffles me.

My two favorite ALF moments are the kitchen explosion and the scene in the ALF Movie where he goes to the Kitty Kat Lounge because they offered a free buffet... He thought it was a cat buffet, but learned quickly that it was a strip club.

I couldn't stop laughing when he took it for a ride and couldn't stop the car lol. I used to own the alf doll the very 1st one back in the 80's . But sadly my husband gave it away without telling me and he didn't know it was mine. Sad day cause I loved that show so much and I still do and miss that funny little Alien.😉❤

You forgot the nosey neighbor played by Liz Sheridan. She went on to play Jerry's mom on Seinfeld. Her husband on the show was played by John Lamotta. The neighbors on Alf reminds you of the nosey neighbor and her husband on Bewitched. John Lamotta died in 2014.
Michu Meszaros was a circus performer and actor. He played ALF in an ALF suit for movements that a puppet can't to make it look more human-like like running and all that. Sitting still part was puppeteer work, but the running and walking around was done by Michu in some scenes that called for him to do the movement. He died in 2016. I remember seeing him perform before ALF started when Ringling Bros Circus in 82 in Arizona.
