Why can't we just hold people to be accountable for their actions? Football can't fix everything, everytime there is a major controversy everyone cries "its up to football to do more". There are punishments in place to deter players from gambling, Toney got caught, he's serving his 8 months and that should be it.

Ivan Toney isn't the first English player to be banned for betting. I believe a certain Daniel Sturridge was also banned for 4 months for betting through his brother on him being transferred.

I think Simon, during these debates, brings a good degree of knowledge and forthright opinion. He has a tendency to guild the lily on his arguments and has added more florid language over time - he can also disappear down a rabbit hole (that's not to say a smart man who genuinely cares about his people).
The main critique I would have is that he thinks Velocity = Veracity ie the faster he delivers a verbal sentence the more truth and weight it holds, in fact the opposite is true and it makes him seem desperate. Darragh is the perfect foil for that, his delivery is very measured, over the course of this session Simon gradually becomes more measured as a result and I think more considered too.

The other 11 bets concerned newcastle (his parent club) where he was not a part of the dressing room.
