I am born and bred in Peterborough, and what the chairman has done for the club is amazing. Im not really been a fan of the team since the 90s but hes kept us competitive and given the fans some amazing results. Would i pay for this no. Its not my cup of tea but ive seen a lot of people rail against this decision. We should give it time to mature but as normal the expectation that everyone is tech savvy causes companies to dive headlong into decisions that a bit of thought would not be such pr disasters. My 80 yr old parents would have no chance of working out how to get this
Darragh is very much misunderstood. But he is probably one of the most forward thinking Chairman in the EPL. He does so much for the fans, players. His current actions could bring in numerous ££££ for the club. 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
The club I support rarely feature on local radio in terms of full match commentary, being based in a crowded region for league clubs, so I don't have a problem with paying for an audio service for live games. I have to subscribe to listen to many games I can't attend, as there is no traditional radio option. The problem here is Peterborough's price point is too high in contrast to that of other clubs. An iFollow club audio pass costs £2.50 a match, £45 a season; Peterborough's one is £5 a game, and £58.50 over nine months.
Yeah that's where he's trying to sell you on additional content, so I guess it'll depend how highly people value that and to what quality/quantity they release it in.
This is great move by Darragh helping out his club like Peterborough United. Most of the Premier League elite use this on their own platforms, so why are people complaining about this?
If all premier league clubs came together for a subscription service I would absolutely pay for it. My family share Sky, BT and Amazon for football and we still can’t even watch some games.
Most clubs have subscriber only platforms, don’t they? What exactly is an issue with that? I subscribe to LFCTV and I get everything, including full match replays, for £6 a month. It’s well worth it, and it sounds like it’s worth it for Peterborough fans too.
Ridiculous. BBC get a lot wrong, but local Radio is a cornerstone of EFL clubs and offers an alternative, interesting and honest view of the situation for free. Bringing it in house means there is no alternative view, no challenging interviews when it's going poorly on the pitch and likely to be pretty boring overall.
As a posh supporter that works in Scotland a lot of the time I think it's ridiculous I have to spend 10 pounds per game to stream it, even for FA cup matches where a ticket to the London road end is only 5 pounds more, wish I had a dodgy fire stick
Darragh is doing great things for Peterborough i live local and i'm a Liverpool fan but for me to go up their and watch a game it would cost me upwards of £200 i went to my first Peterborough game yesterday and it was a great day! And only £16! Will definetly be going again!!
@@paultew5321 it crazy money now mate, in my opinion that's why our atmospheres here are not up to scratch anymore as they have priced the normal sort of people out of the games 😔

I guess the only problem i see is, that if you are fan of the whole league and not a single team, then it would become expensive to follow all the matches if you would have to pay to every club in the league.
well he did mention an EFL+, which would be the best option to solve that problem. Here in the states with the MLB for example, you can buy the season pass at full cost and see every game or buy a single team pass for cheaper and see only their games. See if that comes to life eventually.

@@mrobrien2493 I recommend you listen to his whole interview mate - you do realise you need the internet and everything else for other ways to watch & listen, right?
I'd have thought posh would be grateful for any support whether on the radio or not. Obviously not! They only get 7000 odd fans through the gate to actually watch, how much extra income does he think he'll generate by people listening? If they're losing again l normally turn the radio off when it was free so I'm hardly going to pay

yep it makes the most sense for us as consumers, but not the most sense for businesses and unfortunately they're usually all in cahoots together

Is he ever going to realise that managers other than Darren Ferguson and Grant McCann exist?
😂😂😂
The year is 2050 and Darren Ferguson has just been sacked from his 20th role as Peterborough Manager
