The true story of Layne's death is so tragic and sad. I'm 44 and grew up at the height of this song n my best friend (Jim) at that time passed away exactly like Layne did back in 2017 and the last time I talked to him was back in 2011 and I had just lost my current best friend (Bill).. So I was animated and pissed off at him for putting his mom thru his drug n alcohol abuse n it was the last time that I ever talked to him and the last time that I ever seen Jim was 3 nights b4 Bill died back in 2011. I have so many memories of these guys n u singing this song makes me really miss being young and having fun with those guys. Thank u

I eventually got sober, properly medicated, learned a few extra languages, ran off to join the Corps, damn near saved the World, then returned home to my family. So. To anyone reading these words. This song and Got Me Wrong are my favorite AIC songs. I honestly think they were sorta forgotten when Layne died. Sad to say, but they for whatever reason, they never had the traction Nirvana or Pearl Jam had decades later, which is such a shame.
This was really good, I wasn't expecting such depth of emotion from the vocals. Great guitars too. Layne is looking down and smiling and I 100% know it.
This is a great cover - her work reminds me of the hermetic and remote atmosphere PJ Harvey achieved on White Chalk. A lot of Alice in Chains songs work as chamber pieces that haunt dimly lit rooms. It is amazing what a little reverb and echo can do to amplify the feelings of sadness and loneliness.

This song and Got Me Wrong are my favorite AIC songs. I honestly think they were sorta forgotten when Layne died. Sad to say, but they for whatever reason, they never had the traction Nirvana or Pearl Jam had decades later, which is such a shame.

This is a great cover - her work reminds me of the hermetic and remote atmosphere PJ Harvey achieved on White Chalk. A lot of Alice in Chains songs work as chamber pieces that haunt dimly lit rooms. It is amazing what a little reverb and echo can do to amplify the feelings of sadness and loneliness.
