I'm playing them for the first time (besides 3, which I owned as a kid but never finished I think, a little of X and the very beginning of 1) on PS4 and the games are so good, but the ports are soooooo bad, first one is pretty bearable most of the time, but going around Haven City in 2 really is a pain... @KaneLofton after seeing 'lost frontier', I worry about what a 3rd party could do to the mythology and direction of the story. I have also seen a lot of valid critisism on the story changes in the Ratchet and clank remake (ratchet is no longer a self-absorbed wisecrack who needs a character arc, and instead is this bright eyed fluffy bunny character who still goes on to do the same amount of killing?). Whilst I'd love to see a remake by a new team, I am also very skeptical, and not confident the same love and care will be put into the lore and atmosphere we all adore

I want a Jak and daxter remake so bad I feel that there ending in Jak 3 was missing something and Jak X didn't really fix that issue and there story needs to be "fixed". I agreed with all your points and thought I was the only one who felt the same. I hope that with the ps5 and it's ray tracing capabilities we will see a very beautiful remake.

I have 2 opinions for the future of Jak:
-If a sequel is made, it shouldn't be made by Naughty Dog. The people and talent involved are completely different from back then, and their priorities have shifted.
-I think the next game should maybe be some sort of bridge between Jak 1 and 2, with maybe some sort of system that takes the place of guns that fans of 2 and 3 expect, so everyone can be happy.

I usually don’t watch videos this long that are only talking but you kept making valid points, no fluff. I think a remake would be great, it’s exactly what Crash did successfully (despite it not really being a story based game) the nsane trilogy got everyone excited in the series again and set up crash 4 for so many sales and if they know if they make a crash 5 that’ll do great too.
As much as I want a jak 4 made I don’t want it done incorrectly, keep the cartoonish style and make sure it feels like a jak game still but just better. I hope this day comes, it has been 15 years but it’s great that in 2021 us die hard fans are still hoping for it.

I really wish there was an RTS version of the Jak and Daxter games where you can select one of the armies and build structures against other armies by harvesting eco and other supplies. Goodness knows there's already a large enough amount of maps and hero units too. The obvious teams would probably be Lurkers, Metal Heads, Freedom League, KG Deathbots, Dark Makers, etc. I think it would really awesome.

I know I might have said “test the waters” a few times but that usually came with a remake somewhere along the line because two, three, Daxter and Lost Frontier have some type of gameplay issue along the line. Not ti say Precursor Legacy is perfect either but it handles better than the other two in terms of maneuvering on vehicles.

One thing I've been thinking of for over a year is remaking/remastering the Jak trilogy similar to how the original Resident Evil game was. Wrote this before finishing watching the video.
Since the games were made as is, the remake could throw references to future games, expand on things in the original games. Some overall ideas are improved graphics, story ideas, maybe do that 'realistic approach' if it works. Also, DO NOT remove things from the games (I feel like that was a massive failing of the RE2 & RE3 remakes) Maybe add some new overall story elements for returning fans. Here are some of the individual game ideas:
Precursor Legacy: Expand the world, add more people for the background and expand the land (make it feel like an actual village thing). Add a few more things to do for people living in the three "hub" worlds. Throw some hints of the future. Maybe give an explanation for Keira's mother and Daxter's parents. create more Eco powers (the one aspect I liked from the Lost Frontier) and more things to do with the powers.
II: Add Renegade to the American name. Expand the city to make it larger (make it feel more like a city) such as include various shops and buildings you'd expect from a city (including things from Daxter). Use the Japanese feature of unable to kill civilians. Add more technical stuff so people can use all four weapons (more stuff than already there). Add some stuff for Daxter to do (maybe include/expand on things from Daxter). One idea was to have a system based around the civilian's relation to the underground based on Jak's action and use of Dark Jak. The more chaos you cause (outside of missions) and use Dark Jak in the city, the less civilians like you and somehow make things harder or you get more intensity of Krimson Guard summoned/ The more civilians like you, the more you're able to get away with. Maybe include a special underground vehicle that's faster and more durable than most zoomers that you can steal but only found in certain underground bases. Also, add more underground bases than just the one. Also, make Dark Jak stronger to justify the civilian meter thing. More optional mission to increase public opinion.
III: Make the game longer to have the sheer amount of things to do in both the city and the wasteland. I like the 12 weapons, but make things to do. Have Dark Jak's invisibility be an unlockable ability after the temple when it is initially used. Invest more in the wasteland area than just scavenger missions. Make have more factions of groups in the wasteland. idk. Apart of me wants a return of the eco powers but I feel like that's a bit too much. If the city was greatly expanded in Jak II, have some missions that about doing wasteland-like scavenging but in abandoned city ruins, give a big melancholy fee to it.
I may have more ideas in the future, also write this before finishing the video

Didnt the creators of Jak quitted Jak4 to make Last of Us? I love Jak and I wish we could have a remake as you described, that is not afraid of change and fix some Issues, even add lore to it, but, sadly, that would require a dedicated team for it and probably they dont want to commit that much to an old séries and rather focusing on their main Style now, since Naughty Dog passed to a more mature audience/artstyle as you said. I love your passion to the series! Great work and dedication

  • @Tonn_23

Really happy that I came across this video. This is exactly how I feel about the series. The videogame industry is in a state that doesn't take that much of risk games took during the PS2 era. Remakes and remasters of old successful games is a safe option to make some money sure thing, but people need to understand that games like Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper, have a better future with remaking them than making a direct sequel for them. Making a sequel of a 15-year-old game is a hard and risky thing, not only the graphics have changed but also the demands of the players in general. Also, the thing that makes a remake a good option for a turn the series to take, is that a remake that the fans will love to see and feel familiar with can attract more players to like the franchise. That means Naughty Dog or whoever publishes the remake will more likely want to invest in making a new game.

what I'd love for a trilogy remake (if me and its small community's voices will ever be heard anyway) is some better explanation and better handled story elements...
such as the Precursor debacle in 3... it'd make more sense if they had an accident with dark eco *ages* ago that turned every precursor into an Ottsel but never found a way to turn back (or see it as an evolution, if being an Ottsel happens to give out positive effects) this would at least help clarify the "hologram" thingies of the precursors as well as the confusion of the... reveal.

Funny, you talk about a remake, that would put this series back into the spotlight, that could pave the way for a forth installment.
And after your video came out, Crash Bandicoot 4 was announced. Probably because of the success of the remakes. Gives me hope.
But i'd honestly kill just for a remake in the same vein as the Crash/Spyro remakes.

I've just found your channel after getting a video of yours in my recommendations. I am really happy to hear you articulating these points and agree very much! I'm a huge fan of the original series and would love to see it come back, but certainly not without the kind of fixes and updating you were describing, not a modern reinvention. As good as God of War is, it can't be denied its a pretty heavy reinvention of how the series has always been. I could see fans potentially being satisfied with a Jak and Daxter reinvention, but what that would even look like I can't begin to imagine. Like you said it really has to be a remake of the original games improving upon their design, story, graphics, and structure. That would be truly amazing. I look forward to seeing more of your videos, keep up the great work!

  • @Ari-6
    @Ari-6 3 года назад

Really interesting video. I think you missed a couple of things. First that a remake like you are describing happened to Ratchet and Clank, essentially retelling the first game, adding a couple of things. Many are unhappy with it for changing the tone of the story/characters, and missing a lot of small details. However it did result in Rift Apart getting made, which seems to be a sequel to the mainline series and gives precedent to your idea.
The second is the option of a "Soft reboot" which are so popular in movies these days, As with Force Awakens or Jurassic Word (Regardless of how those have aged). Retreading the themes/settings of the originals, while also working as a sequel. For example, a new game that borrows a lot of the themes and story elements from Jak 2, but maybe bringing in more adventure aspects of TPL. I'm not going to get into theoretical story ideas but basically, something that could maybe act as a jumping on point for new players while raising interest in the older games, hopefully better than KH3 did.
Not to say that either of these would work or that there is a definitive way to do it, both of these concepts have been done badly before but that's not to say they can't be done well. I just wanted to throw out some more talking points for consideration. At this point I'm pretty much obligated to accept any new pure Jak game as long as it's better than TLF

Edit: I agree they should make a remake and still keep the platform gameplay and it's traditional art style.

  • @PsychedelicDude
    @PsychedelicDude Год назад

    I agree with you.
But i think there need to be some major changes to the first game. For instance: Jak shouldn't be a mute and Daxter should've always been an Ottsel.
    - A more engaging story. Gol & Maia need to be better villains.
    - More eco abilities. Not more colors, but maybe make the eco powers more permanent with upgrades and different functions. I hate to us TLF as an example, but kind of how the eco's were used in that game.
    - And whenever they make the sequel, i would love it if they made the world/continent more recognizable. It's only been about 300 years and the world looks completely different. I always try to find locations from the previous games even though i know they don't exist. Would also like it if Spargus was part of the same continent.

Something to consider about kingdom hearts 3.
Because that game took so long to release, I would wager that a substantial number of the "new" people who bought that game were actually legacy fans. Kingdom hearts games have been on the used market for a long long time. Longer than they've been sold new in stores. They've also been re-released in compilations and hd remasters. Many people who bought kingdom hearts 3 got into the game after having played one of the remasters, or after having bought used copies which aren't counted in sales figures.
So kingdom hearts 3 having sold the most doesn't necessarily mean that a lot of people started out with that game.

This would be my idea forward - reboot PL with minor tweaks, get new folks interested, then go in a completely different direction in 2 and 3. Like instead of going forward in time like in the original, keep the story contained to the original timeline. Maybe the open the big door and there's just a note left behind with only hardcore fans knowing it's significance. idk something like that. But really I see a new Jak and Daxter title less likely than Valve releasing anything with the number 3 attached to it.

Glad you liked the video mate. And yeah totally, the Jak series is a weird case where most people remember what it used to be (Jak 1), not what it turned into (Jak 2 and 3), so a follow up would leave a lot of people confused.

I've been playing Jak And Daxter since i was 4 and I'll never get tired of it. I'm waiting for a remake more than a Jak 4 since the Crash remakes came out, I could only think "Jak and Daxter, please...(?)!".
As you said, the game still holds up pretty well, but hey, if it can look even better... (And that would be the perfect excuse to play the game for the 50th time), and the important thing is also so the game regains popularity / reach new people.
So I hope we get a good remake someday!

Best route would be one of those soft remakes like the Bandicoot and Spyro ones. Could even pop up on PC with how Sony is behaving with exclusives.

IMHO: the best course of action would be the treatment Crash and Spyro have gotten. A remaster of the old 3 titles, with some additional polishing and perhaps even a better story link between Jak 1 and 2. After that, they could judge on the sales if a sequel would be worth it. I mean, it worked for Crash Bandicoot, the game is now truly getting a proper sequel!

the thing is, over ALL these years of speculating and ideas, fan theories, that ANYTHING that would be released would upset alot of people, as they cant please every theory. jak IS mar? jak continues his adventures in space, jak goes into the wasteland and finds more precursor tech to finish off the metal heads for good?, jak becomes a white eco sage and has kids with keira and we continue the story with the kids...lots of random ideas, MAR being the biggest one are just avenues that would be difficult to achieve perfectly.

I would love to see a remake of the trilogy with updated graphics and I would love to see them include some of the level designs that they ran out of time for like Yosemite. I dont want the main story to change, thats what made me love the game, I just want a remake using the same engine that Crash and Spyro had add some things to kind of nod at the die hard fans. To me, that stands true for a potential Jak 4. Dont try to make it a super realistic looking game, stay true to what it is. Keep the same art design and feel.

Ya as much as I want a Jak 4, the best idea is to do a Jak & Daxter Remake/re-imagination Trilogy like the Remake/R&C Re-imagination PS4 but on PS5.
With Crash Bandicoot & Spyro The Dragon they blew up easily cause those characters are legends in the likes of Sonic & Mario. They came out in a time when Console Mastcots mattered, it defined many youths & childhoods. Fans have been campaigning for Crash & Spyro even when the series were out of the public eye.

I always felt a soft reboot that combines the first game with the sequels would be good for the modern age. A new setting featuring the core cast (Jak, Keira, Samos, Daxter, and maybe a couple others), and a generally lighthearted story with some serious moments and "risque" jokes. There'd be references to older games, but it'd mostly be self-contained. Focus the gameplay to action/platforming (throw in some collectables and only a handful of balanced guns), polish it to a shine, and throw it into a lush, explorable world.
I know that's basically what The Lost Frontier was, but I do honestly see promise in that idea. It just needed to be in better hands.

Completely agree. I think a total overhaul is necessary, but I love the old gameplay. My hopes would be that they keep the gameplay somewhat similar (perhaps a little more fast paced, with difficulty choices) as well as streamlining the story so that the change is less jarring in setting, tone, etc. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it'd work exactly, it could even be a series of videos in and of itself. I'd personally love to see more RPG-like elements, a bigger world, and more of the characters we know and love. That's the most important part imo, the characters.

In regards to the basis of God of War for a sequel, I do actually think in some ways it's a good idea. If you set the game significantly further into the future, you can both continue the narrative for the old fans while starting from a point that new fans can jump into without any real confusion. The mystery of Mar is really no closer to being solved by the end of Jak 3 than it was to begin with, continuing that would be a good place to start, and there's already a decent cast attached to the story with established roles and personality. Likewise, having two playable characters could be great for keeping the old gameplay and making things fresh. If Jak and his child were to lead the game, Jak could have a more modern take on the old formula with tighter and more modern gunplay, being more tanky and having Daxter help with puzzles and navigation, while the child could be more agile and platform-based with some combat options in the form of weaker but more unique guns, with more thoughtful environmental puzzles and greater platforming ability.

Okay, I agree on dave returning to do the remake, but when you say streamlined and you say you want it to be suitable for new audiences I take that as you want it dumbed down. we were the new audience at one point, if you want to add to the story to fix the plot then great, but to take away from the story and gameplay would be to chip away at the soul that the series has. How many games are out there that were built specifically for a broad audience, and how many of them are memorable? I'd say not many. good games are complicated and have flaws, if you try to please everyone you'l impress no one.
This is the issue with the R&C reboot, they made it so soul crushingly generic that there's no character arc, there's no personality or dirty humor, there's no character flaws, the game had no personality to it, they even brought nefarious in for the third time as the villain, because we cant actually have a message about economics in our game, it'll make our masters look bad...

    • @PowercellZeke
      @PowercellZeke  4 года назад

I don't mean to dumb it down, I mean to write the story and make sure to plan everything ahead. It's pretty obvious they didn't do that for any of the games. Yeah, I think that a sequel is only viable if it addresses something new and mysterious, like figure of Mar or something like that.
Back in a day I got into the series with Jak 3 and I remember picking up on the story rather swiftly because of the setting. Opening cinematic gave all the essentials and after that story rolled just fine with some additional perks like not being mad that Keira was simply put aside. :) That awesome sense of exploration, the mystery hooked me up very quickly. Also I dig that aesthetic of technology and mysticism blended together so much!
And if you think of it, every enrty in the series did exploit this: we always start at some unfamiliar place. Therefore, while old fans could still enjoy fuller context of what's going on, newcomers weren't lost on the story. So if sequel was ever to happen, it should just stick to this formula and not dive into politics of Haven city, for example.
That being said, I totally agree with you that a proper remake would be best for the franchise. Because Jak in the 3d is just too OP. Like, it makes sense narrative wise with all the godly powers he acquired, but his arsenal is also completely broken, even if you never upgrade. I wish his Echo powers were essential to fighting Dark makers, so that I couldn't just bully endgame enemies with mass inverter. At least they could retain their shields while floating, I don't know...

I really like this video, but I very much disagree with your analysis of Kingdom Hearts 3's story. Not about the meandering, that's in there and it sucks, but I think that's because of Disney rather than it being for new fans. Compare the stories of the Frozen world to the Monster's Inc world, and you realize that The latter actually incorporates more of the plot into it. Apparently, Disney this time was much more strict, they wouldn't even let the developers use the actual city of Arendelle as a map out of sheer protectiveness.

    • @PowercellZeke
      @PowercellZeke  4 года назад +2

My complaint with KH3 was the structure and pacing of the overall story, the stuff that has nothing to do with Disney. I don't think Disney had any say in that, I think they paced the story the way they did so new fans could have it he their first game and not get so confused with the plot. I understand Disney had a big say in the story of the Disney worlds like Frozen, but Nomura would have had the final say in the plot structure.
      Anyway, cheers for watching!

Well, compare it to other games in the series then. Comparatively, there is a lot less plot in each world. Why would Square suddenly do that unless an outside force was limiting their creativity?

    • @PowercellZeke
      @PowercellZeke  4 года назад

@@gatst7680 I'm not talking about the amount of plot in each Disney World, I'm talking about the actual plot that happens in between worlds. For example, KH2 had us go to a couple Disney worlds, then go somewhere like Hollow Bastion for a bit which progressed the story a tonne. After that, back to the Disney worlds for a bit, and repeat. It kept the pacing of the game fresh. Once you were a bit tired of the Disney worlds, it took you to Hollow Bastion, or Twilight Town to give you more story details. In KH3, not only are the Disney worlds about 4 hours long each, there's almost no plot progression between worlds. The length of each world makes it easy to get sick of them quicker compared to previous games, and not having any new plot points in between the Disney worlds makes it hard to stay invested in the overarching story. Again, I think this was done in order to appeal to new fans who don't care about the overarching plot, not to do with Disney's interference, as the only say Disney had on the story was to do with the actual Disney World stories

I'm in the same boat as you. I'd much rather have a remake of the trilogy than have sequel made. Just as long as they stick with the cartoony art style. If not that, than they at the very least should give us this second option:
If Naughty Doge, or any other developers, aren't going to make a remake anytime soon, or ever, then I want the original trilogy adapted into an animated series(preferably 2D animated). If in the right hands, I seriously believe the Jak and Daxter games would for make for a really good series, one that could even be on par with ones like Avatar: The Last Airbender. There is so much potential in the story and lore.
These games, style, story, and lore wise, are tailored made to be adapted into a serialized series. Each game could easily be it’s own season, while still leaving PLENTY of room to expand and further flesh things out that the source material didn’t, unlike film adaptations. Not only that, but also fix at the least the story and writing flaws in the source material; like how Keira was done dirty in Jak 3. I think it would also fit right in with the trend we’ve been seeing in Western animated media for the past of couple of years now, where a show will start out seemingly lighthearted and whimsical, only for things to get progressively darker, or even shift in tone or setting, the more the show progresse, and the more things are revealed or stuff that was hinted at/hidden in plain sight comes into play later on(i.e. Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, SVTOE, Ducktales 2017, Amphibia, The Owl House, Kipo, Infinity Train). And considering how a lot of the games' voice actors are still working in the animation industry, I imagine they would be able to get a lot of them to come back and reprise their roles in an animated adaptation.
Just as long as they don’t fill it with constant pandering and overbearing meta, meme like “How do you do, fellow kids?” type of humor.(Looking at you 2016 Ratchet and Clank reboot.) I’ll be fine then.
If we don't even get remake of the trilogy, than the least they could do is give us something in another medium that would allow a chance to further explore the lore and characters in a way the original games didn’t, while still being more accessible to the general audience and the very real potential of bringing in new fans. What strings would I have to pull at places like Powerhouse Animation or Netflix to make this happen!? I still really love the lore and characters in these games and I really want to see more of them after all of these years, even if in the form of another medium.

But I agree that it's too late at this point to pick up where the story left off with Jak 3.

  • @everydaycoma935

The remake should start with child Jak from Jak II Growing up in Sandover Village with young Samos. The childhood could just be tutorial phases and could also include fleshing out characters like Daxter and how they became friends. If the developers have the backstory fleshed out for everything first, I think they could definitely stick with the current story (rewriting when needed). But as for Jak 3 I would just scrap it entirely. Maybe for J3 they could have Jak go back in time and be THE Mar?? 😂
If the hypothetical trilogy is a success then the disappearance of Jak(Mar) could be the plot of Jak 4

  • @CrashJakFan1994

I'm a little hesitant on a remake. I am one of those people who says that the original trilogy holds up remarkably well to not warrant one. I don't want to come off as a snob or anything, but it kind of feels like revisionist history if the games were remade. I do like the remakes of the Crash and Spyro trilogies, but there are some things that feel lost in translation when playing them. It's a little hard to explain. I think if the rereleases of the PS2 games got better marketing, this discussion probably wouldn't come to be.
You mentioned that the uninitiated would more likely jump into a new entry without playing the previous titles. With that in mind, I think if there's ever a new entry, maybe the series can go the same route that the Ratchet & Clank series did when it jumped to the PS3: start a brand new adventure without focusing too much on continuing from Jak 3. You could say The Lost Frontier did try this, looking back at it. Just give newcomers a chance to see what the recurring characters are like and still provide that intrigue in the series' world. Who knows: it could probably drive the newcomers' interest in playing the previous games afterwards. That's just my two cents, anyway.

After this video, I felt like talking about the issues you put on the table. It might take a bit long but bear with me.
It's hard to say it but... I actually agree with you. I don't think I want to see a Jak 4 right now. At least, not one that doesn't work as I personally intend it to do, and believe me, I've been piecing together EVERY SINGLE FUCKING LITTLE DETAIL about the whole series, specially those beautiful Jak 3 plot holes, to create a perfect sequel that not only redeems past mistakes and lost opportunities for their main themes to fully develop, but also pushes the original mechanics to a greater level. I've been working on "my" Jak and Daxter 4 for many years, trying to design the blueprint of a perfect game that I will never be able to make. And even if that game was to be released, it would only cater to a very specific public, and then probably just... fade into oblivion. Coming back after these many years only to make the final entry in the series and then closing it forever probably isn't the best idea (unless you are Yoko Taro and make every single entry in your series a semi-independent game while making much more sense on the whole, but I DIGRESS).
Don't get me wrong, I will keep working on this personal project, even if it just becomes the craziest and most niche fanfic ever written, because I love this series with a passion, I know probably too much about it and it's always going to be my favourite game saga ever. But I too think, at the bottom of my heart, that this series always deserved much better, and that starts with not being conservative about it. Opening to a broader, newer audience, while still catering to all-time fans, would be definitely thebest thing that could possibly happen to Jak and Daxter, and a fresh remake in the style of the recent Final Fantasy VII or Resident Evil would be the way to go. And if that worked (and it definitely should work if Naughty Dog actually did care about their first actual fanbase FOR ONCE), it could be the right time for Jak 4 to actually happen.
'Cause, fuck off, I really want to see Jak 4 happening, but the main reason I want it to be a thing is because I feel that there is so much left to be made in that series. I constantly fantasise about seeing Jak returning to Sandover to fulfill his destiny as Mar looping into his own timeline ('cause, yeah, I'm a "Jak is Mar" believer), meeting his own future in the past, becoming a more mature character and exploring his feelings about his own life as a hero and his relationship with the rest of the cast, and using tons of new mechanics and all that jazz. I just want the game I've been dreaming about for many years, but I have to admit that it may never be happening at this moment. And even if it never happens the way I imagine it, that shouldn't mean it's over for the series. I really want as many people as possible to know and enjoy Jak and Daxter, because I want it to ENDURE.
Sorry for all this super long text but I really needed to express my feelings about this issue right after I saw your video. It's always beautiful to see how dedicated this community still is, however small it may be, and the sheer fact that we are still talking about this is keeping Jak and Daxter alive. It seems allot of fans have had a crack at imagining their own entries to the series, not surprising considering how world heavy the later games are, allot of room for alteration, allot of questions you could answer.
But unless you yourself were put behind the wheel chances are anyone who makes a new game will make it in a way that's bound to disappoint you, but that's what we're all setting ourselves up for by trying to interpret it's direction.
If a Jak 4 comes out, one thing that everyone won't be satisfied with is the identity of Mar, you've said Jak but some fans (like me) think Mar should be his own character and both sides can create their own believable and logical arguments, But they're both going to contradict each other.
Unless it turns out Mar is a clone of Jak or Jak is a clone of Mar, or possibly Jak's an alternate reality version of Mar and Idk those all seem like copouts.
Despite how much I'd love Jak to go back and meet Mar and dig into who he is and how I'd want him to be, it'd take away from Jak because of how legendary of a name Mar has become, plus fans like you who don't subscribe to that Theory would be disappointed.
If Mar is Jak then you'd need to move allot of weight to try and cover all the bases, like is the Mar shown in statues actually Mar? Where's Daxter? Is Jak his own Grandfather? How many pounds of fish did he catch? Why does no-one recognize Jak? To the point that it might look like Jak's doing his best Kingdom Hearts impression which is fine for hardcore fans but bad for the general public, they didn't want this answered?
No matter which side wins it could become a mess, I don't have an answer and there's a chance this has gotten too out of hand for a satisfying answer.
It wouldn't take much effort to completely retcon it from Jak 3 but since so many people spent time thinking about this retconning it will definitely cause a reaction.
Or you know, they could just make two Jak 4's. :OpieOP:
If Jak's a clone or an alternate reality Mar then at least everyone's right, I'd prefer a definitive answer but the Jak community may never come to an agreement.
But one thing we can all agree on is that this game inspires us to make large comments *holy fuck*, but also that we're probably one of the most dedicated fanbases in general, and this channel does a good job at exposing that.
Also I'd been writing this for about an hour and Zeke beat me to it. :/

I say give the Jak license to the people who made crash or Rachet, I'm sure they'd do well.

I don’t know why they couldn’t just make a comic or book like sequel to the series so at least we can have closure or feel yea this is a satisfying end to our boys Jax an daxter
