- This is Gading Serpong (Summarecon Serpong/Paramount Serpong), population? 120,000 according to this article by Media Indonesia. Public transport?
1 line that tries to serve half the city with a single bus, making a gigantic 3 hour loop with the terminus in Mall SMS. It runs everyday, every 2-4 hours and turns a 15 minute drive into a 2 hour bus ride.

In short: The private sector does not handle public transport seriously
the main reason why i think most private developers do not take public transport seriously is because it doesn't generate a large amount of profit. unlike public developments, private developments such as gading serpong, alam sutera, and bsd prioritise profit and making the most amount of money. although accessibility and less cars can lead to more people coming into these areas and generating more money, its usually viewed as too much work when they can just simply add more lanes and more parking, which doesn't actually solve anything
And that's the reason why this matter is should be handled by local government. Unfortunately, they are the one that too much relied on private sector in the first place.
I may be sounds conspiratorial, but I think these private developers were sponsored by the oil and auto industries to limit the development of public transportation.
@@Clukay404 More like car-oriented mindset from those private developer. Before they start to sell houses to everyone, at first they only sell their property to the rich people only while there is mindset that only poor people took public transport. This is also an attempt to segregate higher income people with lower income people, so they make gated community with no public transport so the lower income people can not visit the area since there is no public transport there. This however, change when the rise of middle income happen with more people can afford motorcycle and car are getting cheaper, with addition of housing crisis in the city so the demand of these suburban houses are increased, and the private developer start seeing the potential market from there. From here chaos happen and what makes area we know like Serpong and Bintaro, area of a million people with no proper public transport.
Despite having 4 lanes road in each direction, this place have frequent traffic jam especially during weekends.
Truly, a car-centric hell hole.
literaly induced demands on actions
2:20 it's iritating my eyes seeing 8 lanes road (4 lanes for one direction) with very large median yet there is no bus lane and median bus shelter there. That big ahh road probably already become one of Coridor of Transjakarta if it's on Jakarta.
Thank you for speaking the silent part out loud! I live opposite of Christ Cathedral, and my main problem to take S11 is the first/last mile from my door to Asshobirin; cant drive cause no parking, too short for Gocar, Goride sits 1, and walking is having to battle cars and occasionally Indorama’s container lorries. Dont mind to catch the S11 from Starlet, even if it means driving myself there (ofc, now parking around Starlet is limited so yea)
But don’t expect any cooperation between Summarecon and Paramount; took them months to actually fix the link between Spings/PHG and Matera - we’d have GTA7 before your idea ever comes to fruition 😂
To convince those private developer housing company to build a good transit is to make sure, the transit is going to give them additional profit to their wallet. Never about the people who reside or work in their land.
Now that I remember, and probably should have added to the video, they could use the buses as moving billboards.
Literally, if KRL pass through Alam Sutera, they should put malls above/below the railways so its benefit the developers and at the same time we as riders. It's a genius idea if they unplug their car centric brains.
Yep, just look at how packed BXC is now that they got a second building and have direct rail access
@@shindoride oh wait a sec they build a tunnel
@@Clukay404 And even more better thing is, having a good transit either its a bus or train system or both will surely increase the asset or property value pararell to the transit line expansion. Win-win solution for developer, investor, even the resident. My own land price literally spiked after my place received 5 Jaklingko lines, 2 Transjakarta line, and in the future 1 LRT lines.
Btw if you come to Bandung again, please talk more about the bus services here (Pretty fine midtown, and then it's crappy in everywhere else), and also the Greater Bandung BRT plan might be a good thing to talk as well
Yeeay, theres another video within 24 hour 🙌
Alam sutera : Lu masih mending, lah gw...
Alam Sutera udah langsung dapat F tier si 😅
But isn’t it the best town for 🚴♂️ and🚶?
I've seen that sign multiple times. They have good sidewalks but painted bicycle lanes (Bicycle gutters according to Not Just Bikes) isn't infrastructure and it wont protect cyclists from cars.
Also despite the good sidewalks, if the grocery store is too far then it's not walkable thanks to too much separation between housing and commercial areas.
@@shindoride Oh yeah, and Alam Sutera isnt the best town for walking and cycling. Its Lippo Village Karawaci, since residential areas isnt that far from Supermal Karawaci.
Lippo Karawaci is alright, especially since most of the place is served by angkots and the T11 goes through it.
But awful traffic in Legok Raya
Oof the final line🗣️🗣️🗣️
do alam sutera pls
Make a video about Free School Bus services
Never tried it so maybe not in the near future
New vid
How is one going to convince angkot drivers that buses help them, when they blame the *S11,* an INTERCITY BUS, for "taking their passengers"? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
S11 runs parallel to 3 angkot lines for nearly 10 km and allows passengers to board and disembark along that corridor.
My proposal only runs parallel to the R19 for 3 km and even then, thats in the what I presume to be the "unprofitable section" of the line
