    Great video Bogdan. Thank you, this was a very easy job and does not need require the MDX to be lifted. I did this while our MDX was parked inside our garage. I will say for anyone who at least has a trailer hitch installed in their MDX you will need to remove your spare tire in order to reach the top fill bolt, otherwise. I did this in probably 30 minutes or less. Thank you so very much!

    • @AcuraAddicted

      Thanks! I actually have both the trailer hitch and the spare tire in place in this video, and I didn't have to remove anything (you can actually see it in the video). Yes, there is not much space between the tire and the hole in the subframe, through which you can put the extension, through, but it worked for me with a short extension.

    Hey Bogdan I have asked you few questions and received good advice from you, so wanted to say thank you for that! Now I am planning transfer case/assembly fluid replacement in the next couple of months and gathering vital info about it. On my 2010 RL, do you know if transfer case takes ATF-DW1 fluid or DPSF? I do have a shop manual for my car but it says: Hypoid gear oil(GL4/5), if I remember correctly. I just don't know what name Acura uses for that fluid.

    • @AcuraAddicted

      No problem! The transfer case in 2010 RL, just like MDX, takes Hypoid Gear 80W-90 Oil (GL4 or GL5). I have the transfer case fluid replacement video on my channel for MDX, it would be the same for your RL.

    Hey, I have a question that has nothing to do with what's in the video, but it is about Acura vehicle. Have you seen on your car, where tire pressure indicators would shows some of the pressure of tires? On my RL, I see that right rear just shows dashes instead of numbers but other wheels are good. Then after some time, when it is warmer, the 32 PSI may appear. Battery of the sensor is low?

    • @AcuraAddicted
      @AcuraAddicted  3 года назад +1

      Hello. Yes, dashes instead of pressure for TPMS monitor means faulty sensor reading (or no reading), which is most frequently related to low battery in said sensor. You usually start to see it failing in cold temperatures, just like any other battery. If it turns back on when it's warmer, that's definitely the battery. Time to swap that sensor for the next 10 years of happy life!

    • @Charkatak
      @Charkatak 3 года назад

      @@AcuraAddicted Today I drove couple of hours ago and saw dashes instead of numbers. By the time I was coming back home, sun came out, so it got a bit warmer and pressure reading came back. I can of course by the sensor for that wheel and it might be good as I would have to find a leak in this tire anyway and have tire shop install the sensor too. Do you know when tire shop installs new tires on Acura vehicle, do they re-use sensors? I basically want to find out if other sensors are still original or not as the tires were replaced couple of years ago and still have tread life.

      I do everything as per maintenance minder. From my experience the 6 appears about every 30K miles. But if you drive normally, don't live in the mountains and don't haul a trailer, there's no reason to go by miles, just follow the maintenance minder. You can see how clear the old fluid is for me.

    Is the Honda dpsf ll the same as the Acura? I can get it local at the Honda dealership for around $10 a quart. Otherwise I'll have to get Acura to ship some. Is it not worth the risk?

    • @AcuraAddicted
      @AcuraAddicted  2 года назад

      DPSF II is a different fluid from DPSF. For this differential you need DPSF. Whereas DPSF II is for Honda CRV AWD differential.

      Hi. Yes, your rear diff says "ATF-Z1". It was also the fluid to be put into transmission. This fluid has been discontinued by Honda around 2010 and two completely different NOT INTERCHANGEABLE fluids were created: DPSF for the rear diff and ATF-DW1 for the transmission. Use the fluid as described in the video.

    • @AcuraAddicted

      First of all, you won't be able to put in more fluid that will exceed the fill hole level, since it's going to leak out. And the volume of the rear diff is less than 3L (2.5L to be exact, you can find this information in your owner's manual). Secondly, if you only brought three quarts, how did your mechanic add 3.5? In any case, I'm glad the car drives fine. Good luck!
