Interesting quote about 'having tainted blood'...if you haven't listened to "Cirice", by Ghost, there is a verse in it that says, "I know your soul is not tainted, even though you've been told so".

    A few things:
-Archeological evidence is often the biggest *counterpoint* to the bible. For instance, we see no archeological evidence whatsoever for a mass exodus of thousands of people from Egypt, at all.
-The "eyewitness" accounts of the disciples not only contradict each other, but many of them were written at least one generation removed from the disciple. Eyewitness accounts are also the weakest form of evidence.
-The Bible being a book that was written a long time ago doesn't mean whats in it is true. For instance, there was *never* a census conducted where all the people of a region leave their town to go to another one, so even Jesus' birth is already in extreme question. We have lots of old religious texts that claim every other text is false, but christians deny all of them as being made up. Not to mention things that were retroactively added or, perhaps worse, excluded from the bible (the Apocrypha, gospel of Judas, etc,) to fit the Church's narrative and teachings.
I'm not saying this to be mean, but if you want to believe in Christianity, please stop pretending that there's a fact-based reason behind it, because just pointing to a self-contradictory book that has had so many holes poked in it that it makes swiss cheese look solid doesn't prove anything. Its just something you feel in your heart, and that's okay.

    Catchy song.
Tobias Forge is great at "trolling" Christians. Your project here - analyzing "satanic" lyrics from a Biblically Christian POV - is a great idea, imo.
Love the Apologetics links in the shownotes. Alisa Childers rocks - I'd still rather listen to a Ghost album than ZoeGirl, tho 😊.

The names are from the Old Testament of the seven demon kings (although six are only mentioned). Modern Christianity have bundled them all together to just describe Lucifer. But they’re all seperate entities

Did you mean to say separate? Cause if not I’m really confused? (Although confusing me isn’t a hard thing to do)

Just an FYI, the band members of Ghost are atheists as most people of Sweden.
Regarding the resurrection part of the bible it's not in the Coptic bible, it's not in the dead sea scripts etc. The resurrection is a later addition since Christians did not think it was enough umpf! to the scriptures.... this is just one example of things that has been changed in the bible throughout the centuries.... so (not that I am christian) but for somebody that is, when does it stop being the word of god when the bible has been changed/altered/subtracted/added to over and over again?

It's like watching "Silent of The Lambs" and wanting Anthony Hopkins to be in jail because he is a murderer in the movie. It's all art, expression, storytelling...
Btw, you could add "christian reacts to" in the title of the videos. There is a huge public interested in listening what a devoted religious person would think about Ghost and other "satanic" acts.

It's all good dude, lol. I understand the gospel narrative you are sharing because I was a Christian for over 40 years. Personally, this resulted in me ignoring 99% of other religions and other historic and archaeological facts during that time. If something didn't agree with me, I would just block it out. If it made me question my faith I would say it was of the devil. Very convenient. Now I just look at the world from a natural perspective which makes much more sense. It's interesting how people are usually born into "The right country" for their particular faith. If you're born in the US, chances are you are Christian. If you are born in the Middle East, chances are you are Muslim. If you were born in India, probably Hindu.
Anyway, I digress. I guess if you look at all of these different belief systems as most likely fictional, then you don't take lyrical content quite as seriously.
Ghost It's just poking the bear and doing what other bands have done for decades. Just reinventing a bit.

I would recommend any RUclips debates involving Sam Harris or Christopher Hitchens... If nothing else, they are very entertaining.

As I tell my child, all the religions are right! Do good, act right, help one another, show respect, etc. They all share the basic message, none are wrong. Trextbone, you nailed it!

I’m maybe sure you weren’t that into the track. I saw the move of the mouse half way into the song to see how much time was left lol. If this helps you in any way to react to more music of theirs in the future, the band don’t consider themselves to be a Satanic band. They use Satan as a mascot no more so than a High School would use an animal for theirs. The music is incredible and the lyrical structure and melodies differ greatly from album to album. I highly suggest listening to some tunes off of their album ‘Meliora’, ‘Prequelle’ and their latest album ‘Impera’. They’re a fantastic band. They’re better and even heavier live. You should definitely give the song ‘Faith’ a shot. It’s heavy, but groovy!

Perhaps that's a bad habit of mine (checking the time). I only recently bought the "commercial free version" and had videos end abruptly with commercials (since I am unfamiliar with when the song actually ends). Super talented band.

Did you ever play telephone as a kid? By the end of the line the sentence has completely changed. Think about how many times the Bible has been translated and even changed languages? I’d venture to guess that the amount of times that book has been rewritten and translated, or bears little to no resemblance to the actual book.

This fan-made video also doesn't have the right lyrics. For one, it is HELL, SATAN not HAIL SATAN.

Yeah but that means hail satan in Swedish, right? SO I don't think it matters too much
