For some people they store more fat in their mid section also women need like 10% more body fat than men but you can still see your abs if you flex them, train them by doing exercises standing up and just training them like she said. You also need to eat in a caloric deficit.

@@tinag7506 you can get abs without a deficit as long as you have a relatively low body fat. If you train your abs they become bigger and you might be able to see them more.
I want to add in a few things for you guys since this short might be misleading at some points 1. Eat less is difficult, but without calories deficit, YOU WILL FAIL. Burning fat always come first, and a high protein calorie-deficit diet + resistance training will maximize fat loss and muscle gain that is good for burning fat in the long run. So, please eat less and eat wisely first. You can't expect yourself to have those abs while consuming pizzas and MocDonalds all the time. 2. The tip of using weights to grow abs is nice. But there are 2 things here: Firstly, the crunch technique that Amy did in the video could be more efficient by keeping your arms straight and the weight should be righ above your chest when you go up. Being down towards the abdominal would target the hip flexors more. And second thing, weight IS NOT the most important, its the CONTROL. You can grow your abs with bodyweight as long as you make every rep as hard as possible by going slow. Believe me, your abs would burn like hell. Try raising more QUALITY reps and get the great result if you have no weight at home. And there are exercises like leg raises which is much more effective for the abdominal than crunches. 3. DON'T NEGLECT Cardio at all. Yes, you CAN neglect HIIT Training, but then try adding some LISS. And taking more steps a day is a magical fat loss tool for you. So keep in mind of this. For your interest I'm a calisthenics trainers who also do hybrid training with weights for some exercises, and I got my sixpacks by using NO weight and having high protein diet with calories deficit that I can stick to in the long run. I still enjoy fastfoods on my cheat days with my friend but that should be still controlled to some point where I wouldn't get like 1000-2000 calories more than my TDEE , and the protein intake MUST be maintained as well, or else say bye to those lean mass and hi to more fat instead :D.
Thank you so much for sharing this was all very insightful!! Do you have advice for people who struggle to meet protein needs? It feels like a struggle since Im not big on proteins and prefer fruits and veg. My problem is high body fat even though Im skinny fat and I do strength training many times a week targetting diferent areas and i try to do abs most often and I also try to include cardio whenever I can. How many hours of cardio and strength training per week would you say is most optimal for visible abs/ recomp? And how do you manage to always meet your protein goals? ❤
@@twixter0 Hi! The amount of cardio and the intensity depends on your fitness level and training goal. For people who just started weight training and aim mainly to improve strength and muscle growth, try to avoid having too many high-intensity cardio sessions due to its interference with your strength training. In case of strength and muscle growth focus, do at least 4 sessions a week (Lower/Upper Split) to target all muscles at a high enough intensity, and for cardio: 10000 steps a day as informal cardio plus 1 to 2 formal cardio sessions like Stair Master Machine climbing, or jogging, or playing any kind of sports you like that cardio-based. You should also feel happy abt your training to stay consistent though 2. Whey Protein is very convenient and you can consider having some of it for the intake. However the main source should come from real foods like meat or any source of vegan protein (make sure you consume enough variations of it since vegan protein is not complete). To grow your muscle and assist your fat loss, consume 0,7-1,1g/lbs bodyweight of protein per day, and I would rcm the number of 0,8-1g.
Good points! Hitting those protein goals is indeed important for muscle growth and recovery. Also I love LISS cardio because I watch tv series while doing it 😀

Your body doesn't burn off fat from a specific area, it just burns fat in accordance to its own rules (probably depends on genetics, like there are slim people with round faces from cheek fat). So instead of focusing exercise on one area, you just need to lose weight overall. Also exercise is great and you should do it, and building muscle helps with fat loss because muscles burn more calories just existing, but the amount of calorie deficit you can get from exercise if you're not an athlete working out all the time is very limited. It's easier to consume less calories than to exercise them out. And having abs is not a realistic goal for a woman, women need more body fat to function. Better focus on legs or arms where muscles are easier visible.
@@tymondabrowski12round face isn’t nessarily from fat some people just have chubby cheeks and you can’t lose that cause it is notfat, At a certain point you can tell that there is fat to lose there but round face has nothing to do with fat

But it's true that it's difficult to get rid of if someone has some amount of it at normal or even chubby weight, I think it's just considered too essential to burn until other areas are depleted. Btw you haven't seen a fat person until you saw a person who stored fat on their forehead (I think 1000lbs sisters had it at their highest weight; and of course there probably are people who are not dat but store fat there, but I'd consider that very unusual).

The weight you should use should be based on your strength level. There is no perfect weight for weightgroup x or y. Just take a weight that's heavy enough to challenge you but not too heavy, meeaning that you can barely do 3-6 reps. A good range is 8-12 reps for hypertrophy for 3 sets
You can but it might not work as well as it did for her. You should be doing the weighted ab excercises to build the abs, like she said, but you should also do other weighted excercises (chest, legs, back, arms, etc.) and most importantly; eat enough protein and stay on a caloric deficit of about 200- 500 calories. @@michelerusconi lowbody fat, also genes (metabolism) plays a huge role on fat burn or having less body fat %. What matters here is what you eat to get there.
Um so I do think you still need a Calorie deficit, and cardio etc to burn the fat simply because it’s so much harder to lose fat when you’re not watching your diet. Doing only wieghted ab exercises will NOT get you abs, trust me I’ve been there done that. However in addition to you doing the aforementioned if you do ab exercises like weighted abs exercise, your ab muscles will probably grow stronger and you burning the fat (by doing Cardio and being on calorie deficits) will definitely help them show through better/look more defined! It’s also important to remember that when you start losing fat, you lose them first all over your body, and your arms then the midsection/belly is where you lose it last! Oestrogen in women, helps maintain fat in those areas however if you’re consistent and do exercises to strengthen and define abs like what she showed while losing fat by diet and exercise, you will eventually lose fat there too and your abs will show through😊

Shes right. Women have a higher necessary body fat percentage than men, so they need to store more fat in the abdomen. (i forgor what its called) having a slightly chubby waist means you're fit 👍
That's because you already eat little in a day but you just don't have enough muscle. This only work if you relatively have low calories deficit and fat% already. Not working for any people who still have high fat
Really thin models don't train abs for hypertrophy. The secret is being super thin. Even without training at all, if you're thin enough, you'll see abs eventually. It also comes down to genetics. If you have wide hips and relatively broad shoulders, the boxy look will not be as boxy.
Abs is make in the kitchen. Eat less move more, wt training. The more muscles u have, the more calories u burn. Keeps the carbs low. Ur ab will show once ur BF% is low. Ab wt training will give u define ab. 💪🏼🏋🏻♀️😊

@@Rawrthedragon6528 you'll get abs if you have low body fat. If you're skinny fat that means your body fat is high even if weight is low and you don't have enough muscle. And no matter how much you do cardio stuff you won't get abs because you don't have muscle. You need to eat high protein like more than 100g daily to build muscle and add resistance training to your routine.
@@yoongisboopnose thank you so much Your so kind and helpful
how can I figure out my maitenece calorie? I’m 5’2”, and 105ish lbs
actually that's what I thought as well up to a few months ago, and I always complained about my abs not showing despite all the wheighted workouts
then I casually started trying out 10 mins workouts without wheights and I ACTUALLY started to see those lines that I wanted
ALSO I did a slight caloric deficit and I found out I can have abs too!!! I thought it was because of genetics but I figured out that exercise works different for everybody, so it's better to TRY IT OUT YOURSELF
Hey I don't wanna be that guy, but pls when working out focus on eccentric movement (for example when doing pullups - the going down part) and stretching the muscles you're working
Then your form would be much better and you'll see better results, ur awesome btw 🙏🏻
so 3×15 crunches and 1min plank?
You have to be on the skinnier side to do it though
She Said that
yeah. she said that you have to have a lower body fat percentage for it to show through, but you’ll still have abs if you work them out. they just won’t be as visible because there’ll be a layer of fat on top.
I’m currently 12-13 and my weight is 115. I have always been insecure because my stomachs is quite large and bloated. Then I had to realized that it’s not my weight, I just need to workout my abs.
You can't spot reduce.
115 kg or pounds??
Pounds
Pounds obvi 😭
let me give you some advice. you’re young. don’t do this to yourself. you don’t *need* to work out. if you want to, awesome. but your body is perfect the way it is. you don’t need to worry about changing your weight or getting abs, I promise you 💗
i weigh 37 kg at 15. is that normal, i REALLYYY want abs! i have been doing ab workouts for 1 and a half month. i will now try weighted ab workouts! ty wamy. good content
that’s really low, depending on your height
Checkin when you’re 50+ , then I’d be sold
Hi! Can you imagine how strong Coach Amy must be!!?? Her abs are like a brick wall! Even her side abs you can see solid bricks! I am a man and my goal is to build strength and muscles like Amy ma'am, if that is even possible!!
Could you share your workout routine please! I'm struggling with belly fat too
It's in the video!
@@talkingweevil3172 well, some parts of a round face are fat, there was that "buccal fat removal" procedure "trendy" some time ago.
A lot of it comes from a healthy gut too!
The key is genetics and nutrition. Yes core exercises help strengthen but if you aren’t lean enough ab muscles won’t pop.
Ive gotten abs from just doing yoga. You wont get them from beginner gentle yoga but a vinyasa class
Yeah, people assume abs are only visible from being lean, but they're a muscle like any other muscle, and when you train them, they get bigger.
For some people, this can give an illusion of a bigger waist. So, beware of that
Can you do a weighted ab exercise?
What’s the weight, of the weight you’re using here for your crunches?
Amy can u please tell me that how much kg dumbells should I use?
How many lbs do u use for the crunches? I have 5lb weights at home but also go the gym. But thought this might be a good routine to do at home in the morning
5lbs will be fine for a while until the resistence isn't enough because your abs got stronger and they no longer grow. Aim for progressive overload
Spotted UoE logo... tbh I clicked after seeing that logo in the reel preview lol
WHATS THE WORKOUT I MUST KNOW
I saw before the crunches you where doing some in and out motion how many of those do you do?
*Burning calories is better than cutting calories*
Suryanamaskars a single round can burn 8-12 calories in 20 seconds.
(can differ based on weight)
Heyy, I had Vianamese before ❤
Does this work even if I genetically store a lot of fat of my stomach? I store more on my stomach than my thigh. But i am also a thin girl
How do y'all keep your knees and elbows from darkening from floor workouts? This has been a constant problem for me and sometimes I don't get motivated of exercising anymore because of this.
I have the same problem. You gotta scrub them well in the shower. Moisturize them with oil and lotion. Or just give up. It's normal
@@rustjones385 I like the last option🤣
I do bodyweight workouts and i have abs! (I dont have a diet)
How much weights shall one use
Calorie deficit not necessarily mean 500 calorie a day. You can improve your metabolic speed up to 2500 calorie then play calorie deficit. It will work same as 500 calorie a day. That’s how you eat more than before and still calorie deficit.
How often do u do abs?
Tysm for this video
Hope it’s helpful!
Doesn't really matter, how much u eat cuz everyone has abs but u can't see it. u just have to work out and try to do sm that keeps u active for at leat one hour
I don't have weights what should I do ...
Am I the only one who got abs in like 3 days 😭
If u want a workout routine just comment
Your metabolism is probably realy high and you were slim to begin with. I'm not invalidating your results but it's not this easy for everyone

What is the wieght i should use as a 90 pound teen?
90 is kinda underweight for a teen, unless you’re 4’9 or something
The weight you should use should be based on your strength level. There is no perfect weight for weightgroup x or y. Just take a weight that's heavy enough to challenge you but not too heavy, meeaning that you can barely do 3-6 reps. A good range is 8-12 reps for hypertrophy for 3 sets
@@hi-there- I'm 5,4
Can I do this at 5,1 and 120 pounds?
You can but it might not work as well as it did for her. You should be doing the weighted ab excercises to build the abs, like she said, but you should also do other weighted excercises (chest, legs, back, arms, etc.) and most importantly; eat enough protein and stay on a caloric deficit of about 200- 500 calories. Remember that this isn't a crash diet thing, you'll want a sustainable system which you can ideally do for the rest of your life
@@Noel_Tamura alright thank you my goal wasn’t abs anyways js weight lose but thank you
I can do the workout but I just need to lose weight and I have no control
You are right but half right, the goal is to reach hypertrophy which is a byproduct of using weights.Lift those weights girl 👌
*genetics* y’all
Bro she doesn't even have abs, if you put the work you will see results otherwise you wont
@@michelerusconishe has abs they're just not super prominent. A defined 6 pack is unachievable and dangerous for most women
@@michelerusconi lowbody fat, also genes (metabolism) plays a huge role on fat burn or having less body fat %. What matters here is what you eat to get there.
i want to start working out but all the apps are for 18+ and you have to pay for them
Um so I do think you still need a Calorie deficit, and cardio etc to burn the fat simply because it’s so much harder to lose fat when you’re not watching your diet. Oestrogen in women, helps maintain fat in those areas however if you’re consistent and do exercises to strengthen and define abs like what she showed while losing fat by diet and exercise, you will eventually lose fat there too and your abs will show through😊
man 😮 this girl Amy are beautiful
Yall keep saying to be on a calorie deficit. Yet you don’t want me to have an eating disorder. How did yall think I got one😭😭
If you think about I don’t eat less I simply stop snacking-
I have abs showing through my fat even tho my big ol belly pouch is still there lol.
Its a whole ass six pack but I guess I should try and get rid of the pouch even tho its such a funny thing to tell people 🤧😔
But I don’t see any abs? 😅
Genetically, I have visible abs, but all my fat is stored in my thighs 😂 but yes please don’t starve yourselves ladies for abs, weighted workouts work like magic and you can have some nice definition without extreme dieting ❤
posting my results here so you guys can see ❤
(day 1) that wasn’t as difficult as i expected, surprisingly! i have been trying some other ab workouts throughout the week so maybe that helped. if i can i will do another one tonight! ✅
Good luck!
@@wamyy5 thank you :) starting today!
She said you have to be a healthy weight
So how do really thin models have abs but don’t look bulky in that section? They always say not to do ab weighted exercises bc it’ll make u boxy.
