Either that or the region is set to English/USA. I installed japanese games and some of theme are sensitive to the region locale, because the names of files and folders are not Unicode, maybe if he goes to the region settings changes the locale to Japanese it will work.

What sucks is that it’s Windows 8, with a such a unique mascot, is butchered by a horrendous OS (but I’ll still buy it because it’s such a unique product by Microsoft)
Windows 8 itself isn’t bad, it’s how it was marketed. Microsoft marketed it as a version fit for both worlds of desktop and mobile, while the OS didn’t really show that very well and made users upset. It wouldn’t be until Windows 11 that we got a perfect balance between mobile and desktop ui.

Thnks for archiving this.
I'm wondering if the theme doesn't work because the OS is not fully license activated so it disables personalization options.
Either that or the region is set to English/USA. I installed japanese games and some of theme are sensitive to the region locale, because the names of files and folders are not Unicode, maybe if he goes to the region settings changes the locale to Japanese it will work.
The Theme packs are language locked
@@JeffreyPiatt That's it then. He can try changing the locale and languaje to Japanese or download a japanese version of windows 8.
Even in Windows 10, the settings are locked behind activation but using the classic Personalization Control Panel work. For this deskthemepack file, you must either set your system locale to Japanese (Japan) or run as Japanese using Locale Emulator.
@@Golecom2 Only the system locale needs to be Japanese.
Also I love the updated artstyle!

1:12 Thanks for my new Steam profile picture
imagine if the software etc.. could work somehow on WIndows 10. Well, techically it should. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be any Windows 10 os tan.
Actually there is - Touko Madobe.
There doesn't seem to be one for Windows 11, though.
@@TommyAgramonSethwould it be more accurate to say there isn't one yet?
@@daemonspudguy I think it's too late for an official one as they were always related to the launch event in the past.
TIME TO ARCHIVE! If I can find a copy online...
Edit: Awww You beat me to it old friend! :)
Thank You So Much Bud
What sucks is that it’s Windows 8, with a such a unique mascot, is butchered by a horrendous OS (but I’ll still buy it because it’s such a unique product by Microsoft)
This is the difference between an uneducated end user and cyber professionals.
Windows 8 isn't that bad, is the same experience as Windows 7 as long as you install something like startisback or open shell
Win8 is fine with classic/open shell but without it its complete dogshit
Windows 8 itself isn’t bad, it’s how it was marketed. Microsoft marketed it as a version fit for both worlds of desktop and mobile, while the OS didn’t really show that very well and made users upset. It wouldn’t be until Windows 11 that we got a perfect balance between mobile and desktop ui.
@@lemonadesnake They should be different operating systems. Different GUIs built for PC, and tablets. Do you want to use your PC as inefficiently as a tablet?
MJD, you can rename the deskthemepack to zip, open it, and get the theme file, wallpapers, and sounds.
Hope they will have anime window 10 and 11
There is windows 10 but there isn't 11 yet bruh
I have the funniest idea of someone in an office with this set up just tapping away at the computer thinking "end me please"
I think the .deskthemepack doesn't run due to Japanese text in the name of the files associated with it. Either set your system locale to Japanese (Japan) or run the .deskthemepack file as Japanese using Locale Emulator.
This theme is Amazing.
Hi Michael!
In the country I live there is a local sales site where everyone can sell their stuff. There is currently a sealed copy of Windows 2000 Server Edition on sale (with bids). The highest bid is currently 60 Euros (61.17 USD). I was wondering if you were interested in me buying it for you on your account and then shipping it to you? If you want the link let me know! Alex
Best unboxing video i ever seen
Is it possible that you only have one of two discs? There is only one girl printed on the CD, and you mostly have voicelines of one girl. My guess is that you have the "You" disc and there is also "Ai" disc.
Yes because he made a follow-up video with another one. Guessing it's ai.
Man, just the box itself looks amazing.
*quality content*
This is the "Yuu" (the younger girl of the two) edition. There should also be an "Ai" (the older girl of the two) edition.
please make a iso copy of the cd i would love to try it
I also wondered about that and the link for it is in the video description. Michael uploaded it to the Internet Archive.
@@ptzzzs it not full copy of the dvd. it only 77mb torrent or 16mb iso.
@@TheNurvcom He uploaded all the contents as shown at 4:01
@@TheNurvcom A DVD isn't necessarily 4.7GB, an iso of a DVD is only as big as its contents.
In the case of Madobe Yu disc, the iso is 15.2MB as shown at 4:01 of the video.
The torrent shows up as 77MB as that includes the scan of the disc design/label which is 58.4MB and the other metadata from the Internet Archive post (i.e. title, description, list of files).
Linode reallly loves you lol
Is this going to be an ongoing series
Nice video :)
There's probably another pack with only the sister Ai instead of You, maybe another version (Home? )
Anime and technology combine? Awesome! Os-tans seem really かわいい (cute) and cool! Excited to learn more about them and THEY HAVE COSPLAYS??
Aight, we all gonna wait for a windows 10 cd now
Fun fact: the "J" in MJD stands for Japan 😂
Btw what does MJD really mean?
who know
My Japanese Darling
Michael Japan Desu
I always assumed it was his initials, like middle name James or something, but now that mention it I actually have no idea
Michael Jeopardy Day
now i need similar of these themes for windows 10 and windows 11...
I think the reason Microsoft stopped waifus is that they realized waifus can't fix their OS
That’s why Windows 11 still doesn’t have a OS-Tan I guess
OS-Tan Waifu version of Clippy.. I would sign up with a monthly subscription to that
Is that why Arch Linux and Kali users have wallpapers at best whereas Windows had some fancy programs that at least provided some interaction?
@@dufferzzzzz Clippy with a waifu dress and anime eyes.
Now you should do the Windows 10 DSP Anime Pack thing
何だこれ面白すぎるwwwwwwwwwwwww
