Oh man, by the title at first I thought: "No way! Josh throwing pedals away???" Then I knew you didn't have the guts! LOL! How's that official website "rebuilding" going? Fairly new subscriber here. Keep up the loud is more good work! Greetings from Mexico!
Hi Josh, great episode, there are some products that I really wish would came back to production, like the Banana Boost, the Patriot combo and the Dual Fuzz. I think you should do a Fuzelleta some day, pedal, were we can select different kinds of classic Fuzz sounds, like Germanium and Silicon FF, at least a Muff and a Tone Bender, a Maetro Fuzz Tone, a Xin-ei Super Fuzz, etc. It certainly would clear my board of at least half a dozen pedals.
I have owned and sold so many JHS petals that I did not realize would become icons. I had a big box Panther, panther cub, a V1 Kilt, and one of the old JHS Klon clones. I should’ve kept them all! Josh I hope you’re enjoying that Morgan PR12 you bought off me back in the day!
One of my favorite records and love the heavy use of Leslie effects on the guitar featured throughout! War on Drugs has always made me feel justified in my ridiculous pedal collection!
You lived in Tupelo Mississippi !!!!! And you worked in a music shop !!!! Are you a Elvis fan or was this just a coincidence? Craziness man. Until just a couple weeks ago I have completely ignored Elvis, my entire life. I decided to lesrn about him so I started reading and watching everything on him I could find. What a cool person he was. We owe alot to Mr. Elvis Presley. Its amazing how much he influenced modern culture. In ways you would never imagine.
I've said this before as have many, many followers. Josh, you are amazing. Self-doubt is healthy, (as long as it doesn't turn into despair), because not only does it show you care, it enables you to grow and learn new stuff as you continue into self improvement
Josh, I doubt you'll be seeing this, but you NEED to bring back limited, hand-painted pedals. Have three of them, auction them off on eBay or something and then give the proceeds to charities that support the arts in public schools. Around December, you could do a Christmas run of certain pedals, and make sure kids are getting instruments for Christmas. There are so many ways to put music into the lives of so many who could benefit from it. I can even help with a program like that, if you'd like. I know it's a bit late for the holiday season this year, but still. Please let me know.
I can hear the guitar. Thank you. I am very pleased and grateful. I hate when someone bangs on a set of drums when I am trying to evaluate a sound. Imagine if your mechanic was trying to listen to your engine while you banged on drums. Even he would tell you to can it. .
Neve been a fan of war on drugs but that’s on me. Ganna give it another listen. Every time I see stuff of theirs am like why am I not listening to them? Also Bunrunner is my favorite JHS pedal. I love mine and treasure it.
Love The War on Drugs! Been waiting (very patiently I might add) for you to give them a Record Time of their own since I knew your taste in music would eventually lead to his door, and I am officially grateful to you sir. Ol' Adam Fuzzy-Wuzzy Granduciel they used to call him on account of his heavy use of fuzz (not surprised in the least that you mentioned his name and a fuzz pedal in the same breath). My favorite track from that album is Pain; another favorite is Red Eyes from their album Lost in the Dream - it has such a great driving beat, is awash in some juicy reverb on the vocals, and that bass saxophone throughout is such a killer sound. Who doesn't love a good bass saxophone - that's what I always say! For other Record Times check out Wild Nothings' album Indigo; also check out Colony House and Lord Huron. Thanks for your great videos, cheers!
Nice to see that these types of trials and tribulations aren't exclusively mine. A really enlightening and interesting post. After watching it I found myself at odds; I find myself wanting to say I enjoyed it very much but I hate to see anyone feeling under appreciated. Especially someone you feel a kinship with. 😣
Hey Josh, I live right next door to Tupelo in Pontotoc!!! I bet I know that music store LOL!!!! Love the channel. My next purchase I have planned is to get the Charlie Brown!
Hey Josh, I love your channel. It's been super informative! You should check out a band called Now, Now. Particularly their album Threads. Also I work at Sweetwater and packed and checked your order today, enjoy your pedals dude!
Dude, I’m still using that V1 hand-painted JHS Panther with the green LEDS. I think that was meant to be for the surf green version but whatever. I recorded a couple of tracks with that pedal months ago.
Im sad, that boosters like Banana boost are not selling well. Also Silver solo, Java boost and couple of other similar product were "killed" because of poor sales ... Lee ..if he looks outside of JHS, there’s the Pussy Melter, the Vertex Axis Wah, and some other situations where manufacturers (often Far East) super blatantly ripped off a well-established circuit and got called out on it, yet the pedal goes on to be sought-after.
