Kristi Swanson [Simone] was supposed to have the payphone scene but Hughes changed the filming schedule so my friend got the scene. He wrote the “my best friend’s cousin’s girlfriend” scene to make it up to Swanson.

Ben Stein began his political career under Pres. Nixon as a Speechwriter AND Lawyer. Later, as a Speechwriter for Pres. Ford. In 1976 TIME magazine went out on a limb and claimed he was very likely Deep Throat, to which Ben denies, and even questions if there was even such a singular person as Deep Throat, but probably an amalgamation of sources, speculations and made-up quotes. Ben Stein taught Law, Economics, Ethics, etc. at the University level - and is a prolific conservative legal writer/commentator, and sometimes actor.

Yes, the end credits scene from Deadpool was a direct nod to Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Before production on Deadpool began, Ferris Bueller was used as an example to explain to the studio execs at Twentieth Century Fox how Wade would break the fourth wall and talk directly to the audience throughout the movie just like Ferris.
This was also another John Hughes movie. Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.... Hughes was the king of 80's teen flicks.

Ferris Bueller could get away with just about anything. To ditch school and have a advantage. The principal was determined to bring him down. He always found his way out of trouble before he would even get in it! At the end the Principal had him on the ropes only to have his sister who resented him proved to be his saving grace. It is a favorite of mine! It is well worth your time.

This movie never gets old or tiresome, no matter how many times I've watched it.
My favorite scene is actually right near the end of the movie. It's when Ferris can't find the key, Mr. Rooney shows up to bust Ferris and Jeannie opens the door and covers for Ferris. Jeannie knows that she busted Ferris and he knows it, so she feels satisfaction. Also of course, Jeannie finds Mr. Rooney's wallet and busts him to so to speak.

The girl at 4:59 reminded me of another 80’s teen flick that came out the next year, 3 O’clock High. She looks like the exact same character.
It has Richard Tyson who played the bad guy Crisp in Kindergarten Cop and Casey Siemaszko who played the 3D glasses guy in Biff’s entourage in BTTF 1&2.

Great reaction Jen like always, love this movie its a classic, and some fun-facts about it. All the characters who have cars , (except for Cameron's dad whos car license plate says NRVOUS) have license plates that are abbreviations of John Hughs movies. His Mom’s car has a license plate that reads “MMOM” which is a reference to 1983’s Mr. Mom which Hughes wrote. His Dad’s car has a license plate that reads “VCTN” which is a reference again to 1983’s Vacation. His sister’s car has a license plate that reads “TBC” which is a reference to 1985’s The Breakfast Club. Lastly, Principal Rooney’s car has a license plate that reads “4FBDO” which translates to “For Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. As you may have detected by the soundtrack, John Hughes was really into new wave music back then. All the posters in Ferris' and Cameron's rooms were his personal collection. Cameron only has U2 Boy, but Ferris has Bryan Ferry, Simple Minds, Killing Joke, Blancmange, The Damned, Charlie Sexton, Jah Wobble/Holger Czukay/The Edge, Flesh For Lulu, Cabaret Voltaire, The Rave Ups. There is actually a band Save Ferris named of course, after the charity theme in this film. You can see them make an appearance in the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. Also not sure it's been mentioned, but a Fun Fact about this movie is that the actors who played Ferris' parents met during the making of that movie and ended up getting married in real life. My interpretation in the end when the sister rushed home to catch Ferris before he could get home so he would get in trouble. Then she overheard the principal telling Ferris that he would have to spend another year in high school. Another year with the two of them at the same school was the LAST thing she wanted, so she covered for him instead. If she wanted to cover for Ferris as a result of her chat with Charlie Sheen, she would have driven slowly to ensure he got home first after she saw him in the street. Keep up the good work.
