i just ordered the skar tripple box with the 8s in them and it seems like everyone is impressed with them. im going from a single boss 12in that doesnt seem to hit very hard so im hoping im happy with these.
Indont get why people hate on skar. I got a 12" sdr at 2 ohm running with 500 Watts and it slams. I was shocked how good it was. Destroys my cousins kicker comp 12 and is 40 bucks cheaper. I'm gonna toss in 6 or 8 sdr 18s in my Tahoe asap to see how they do.
I have 2 different 8 inch skar subs and they do indeed slap. However a 10 or 12 is always going to have 2 or 3 times the body (low end) than 8 inch woofers. And they hardly cost more than the 8 inch. Honestly one 12 inch sub in ported box with a 1400 watt amp is perfect, because the 12s RMS is around 600 watts, so you'll left the sub be able to experience all of its power. Coming from personal experience with the 8s and the 12s, go with the 12s. The 8s slp harder, like punch harder, but the low end from the 12s is not attainable with 8 inch subs.
I wouldn’t hesitate. Put them in the right sized box and you’ll be satisfied. Keep in mind they’re 8”, so don’t expect something to knock pictures off the wall. They will however, give you good bass
Nice 🔥 ❤️ I was gonna get 4 of the 8” SVR-8 max D2 800 watt Skar for a set up in my husbands Ram 1500.. I saw the amp you have and it has really good reviews too.. Do you think that it would be a good set up with the 4 SVR-8’s with the Rockford amp 1000.1bd. Also, would it be at the same setting you got yours at? I wasn’t sure if the 4 speakers would hold on it. Sorry for the questions idk nada about this stuff. I’m just here for the noise.
awsome review!!! i wanna make a stealth box for my access cab 2023 tacoma, i think this might be a good option. i got an amp that can do 500rms at 4ohm and 800 at 2ohm so i could run two but that would need a bigger box...u think one is enough or would i need two
@@elpupusero aha cipote. Run what you can within your given space. If you have the room to run two eights in a properly sized box for them, run them. The more cone area the better. Also if loud isn’t your goal, look into running a sealed enclosure. You can also get away with a smaller box going sealed vs ported.
They sound better because it’s 3 8in pushing bass so it’s more evenly leveled out yes 2 12s are amazing don’t get me wrong but for a nice crisp sound 3 8s is your go to
Hey man do u mind telling me what you have your bass amp settings at ? Like the gain lpf and subsonic, I just got my first set of subs and they’re the svr 8s but i can’t get them tuned correctly
I have Rockford Punch 1000x1BD. It has the C.L.E.A.N tech to set and gain is roughly under 3/4 of the way. LPF is at 180 (higher than most people like it but I listen to a variety of music) and the LPF on my is either on or off at 20hz. I have it set to ON.
Putting 2 in a custom box only 800rms tho. But it's in a single cab should see a decent gain in db from cabin. Just a fun setup tell my 4 12s blow through goes in on 4800rms
Hey bro I’m so confused. These recommend .70 airspace on the site. I have two. So should I get a box around 1.4? Bc I have them in a 1.9ft box rn and it sounds absolutely nothing close to this
Skar sucks, bought a sub from them and within 3 months it blew and I was UNDER the rated rms power. Asked for warranty and they denied. Terrible company.
Damn, sorry to hear that. I too had a experience with their CS on a different sub, didn’t even get a response. It’s buyer beware with this price point.
@@RidinDirtyTX that doesn’t really matter in this case since it’s such an excessive amount of extra power. Are you less likely to blow it using clean power? Absolutely. But if your average wattage going into those subwoofers is above the RMS, you’re going to fry the voice coils sooner than later. Although the gain isn’t a volume knob, there are calculations that could be made to determine what setting on the gain would allow you to provide them with closer to the rated power, all while keeping your amp cool and barely breaking a sweat.
I have them running off of a Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X1bd. It is a 1K mono amp, however the birthing sheet shows it registered at 14XX when dyno’d.
I just got 4 of the same subs for my pick up truck off Amazon haven’t hooked them up yet thanks for the review
Nice!
What were the results?
Nice job, short, honest and to the point. Wish other reviewers would take notes from how this man does it. Great work Dirty, peace.
I’m glad you found this useful, THANK YOU!

Got this speaker in a Skar tube enclosure. I switched this out for the original speaker and this thing gets busy.
Thinking about getting these for my 05 Durango. Definitely leaning towards it now

I own the skar EVL single 10inch along with the skar RP 1200.1 amplifier. With that being said, that slam like a 12inch subwoofer from a whole block.
I own the evl 18 and from that being said I will own no other sub
Those are slamminnn💯 did you plug in amp with it too or what was ur setup for those 2 8
These were hooked up to a Rockford Punch 1000.1
That car is clean 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!

Thanks! Yes, that would work perfect. The 4 - D2 subs can be wired down to 1 ohm on the amp.
Love it!! I'm going to get 2 for my small box I built.
Check the specs before buying to make sure they’ll work with your box.
@@RidinDirtyTX yeah I'll do that.

@@RidinDirtyTX ill give it a try they are only 80 bucks each not bad at all
Good shit I just got two 8" skar evl can't wait to hear that
Nice, always wanted to hear those
I got dual 8 sir sub that’s rated for 1400 watts what size amp you recommend ??
The pupusa flags, que paso cipote, im trying to decide on one or two eight inch subwoofer, I'm not fan of loud music but I like quality music

Good review man..when you say get low do they hit the low 30hz notes good?
Thanks, and yes. They play 30s well
Is your enclosure sealed or ported? Those subs sound really good.
Ported through the bottom, and thanks
Curious on the internal box volume?
Roughly 1.33 not including subwoofer displacement

what size box is that great idea wow
Thanks, box is roughly 1.33 cu ft
@@RidinDirtyTX thanks ima gone do that exact set up on both sides of the trunk
@@ericcox2992 nice, that’s going to sound great!
Do you think these have good control overall meaning SQ sounds.
For the price range they are decent. They won;t compete with high end SQ focused subs if that's what you're asking.
Hey bro I’m so confused. These recommend .70 airspace on the site. I have two. So should I get a box around 1.4? Bc I have them in a 1.9ft box rn and it sounds absolutely nothing close to this
That’s the max for ported, also depends what your box is tuned to.
never had 8s i got 2 12 inch subs on a 5000 watt crunch amp im thinking of going with 3 8s for in 93 extended cab sierra
I didn’t start messing with 8’s until a couple of years ago. You’d be impressed with what they can do in the right box.
do you have a vid of the install process with these
I do not, sorry.
Problem 1:
You have 2 15" subwoofers and the 8's are offsetting your main subs. Now wonder the Fosgate 8's sounded bad.
The 15s weren’t hooked up….
The real problem is that you don’t pay attention
Nice! That’s a clean enclosure. Did you make that yourself?
I did not, had it built here locally
@RidinDirtyTX what are the specs of the box? Sealed or ported? Tuned? Thanks
DAM!! Bro they are moving .. they sound great
Thanks!
What's good bro...we used to work at that minyards close to BA...ima have to meet up with and show u what I'm bumping

@@RidinDirtyTX shid I got 2 audiopipe 12's quad stack on a skar rp2000
those are all the 8s or are the larger subs playing too?

how may watts do you have

Primo son svr D4 o D2 ???????
Son D4, los tengo juntados a 1 ohm en el amplificador.
are these the d2 or d4?
D4
Nice…look at the EVL 8’s!!!
Been meaning to,
Ive had both svr sounds better and has more bandwidth but the evls are louder
Beating up the block bro
These 8’s do a little something 😎
Are these louder or better bass than the skar sdr 8?
These can handle more power, and are more accurate than the SDR (IMO). Either one is good buy for the price.
If someone dislike your subs or vid they jealous 💯
Say bro dope car
Thanks!

I blew a evl 8 then i blew a l7 8" Kicker on a skar 800 and found out the loc was putting out dirty power to my amp
Those are 400rms and your pushing 1400 on two daily Im sold
Yessir, but keep in mind it’s “clean” power. No bass boost, and set with no clipping

@@dakotawainwright9186 you are correct.
Also remember the rule of thumb is to multiply rms of a woofer times 150% to fight impedance rise.... His woofers will never see 1400 watts
That's why you see people wiring amps down to half ohm so they can get the full 1 ohm of power
thinking about getting these for a custom fit ported box for my 2017 chevy colorado, you have those running off of a 1400W monoblock amp?
