I hated Jia so much that I forgot it was acting, LOL! Her after did a phenomenal job.
The actress who did lady Jia was by far the best in the entire serie. She is skilled, and extremely beautiful.

Like his first empress, he quit seeing her as a wife, but only as a servant. He quit showing his love to her assuming that she no longer needed such things. He never realized how much she had done behind the scenes to help him.
The ironic thing was he had Ling Yunche assigned to protect Ruyi during her stay in the cold palace. Later as he continued protecting Ruyi the emperor grew jealous of the closeness between them. Rather than trying to get that closeness back between him and her, he listened to the rumors. She didn't deserve being mistreated by him.
I have always thought Ruyi would have been better off married to Ling Yunche. Of course if she had, who would have protected Hailan or gotten Yunche out of guard duty for the cold palace?

You can tell the actresses and writers did such a good job being evil that people really hate them. Hope it doesn't carry over onto real life.
I hate Jia for the entire series and i was so satisfied that we exposed finally all her crimes and how horrific this woman was…but this last scene just ruined my excitement . Jia was so pitiful…sacrified by the men she loves deeply and put in Emperor side to loby for her tribe. They enjoy a great life outside the Forbidden city wall and got Emporor grace for 20 years. She did 20 years dirty job and when she lost her influence, everyone turn her down like dirt. It turns out that the wolf was a sacrified lamb😢…this is what blind patriotism looks like.
I think it's fair to say that she became that way because she truly lived in a world where she could only trust her children.
Time and time she watched the emporor hurt the woman he supposedly loved, Ruyi. I wonder what she actually thought when she saw that even the love of the emporor wasn't enough.
Sadly, I think if Ruyi had been just as coniving as Jia had been, she might actually had stood a chance of happiness.
I wonder why or if you said that perfectly. And quite satisfied with the comment.

Was den geschichtlichen Tatsachen entspricht, sei dahingestellt. Die Leistungen aller an dieser Serie Beteiligten sind excellent- besonders die der Schauspieler: jeder Tonfall, jede Bewegung, jeder Blick stimmt, ist paßgenau! Regisseur, Kamerateam, Schauspieler etc. sind regelrecht genial zu nennen, geben ein Meisterstück im Geist des großen Chinas ab!

it wasnt until this scene that I started to see Jia as a person. She was sacrificed by both men who she loved the most. Her lover and her father. Tried to please them from afar by doing some evil dirty things only to end in ruin. All the women in this show good or evil have done evil and/or dirty things some more than other and all of them are so.....pitiful for it...I know a lot is dramatized but...if the actual empiral harem was even half of what it was in this show...I feel so much saddess for those women...

@@DiiAM00NDx3 she was the only woman that he actually loved I honestly believe and he was the only man Jia loved truly. From what I gathered was that they were sweethearts from when they were kids but obviously Jia was in the draft for concubine so her way of showing her love was make sure her son was crowned prince or be empress. If you notice everyone else kept saying she was devoted to the Yu clan ( her maiden clan) but when you actually listened to her specifically she only talked about the Yu prince, even going as far to say “our Yu prince”. She cared solely on making him proud first and foremost because that was the only way she could show her devotion and love. When she was demoted and he basically abandoned her she said “ he wouldn’t abandon me” not “ my clan wouldn’t abandon me” every move she made was for HIM.

@@DiiAM00NDx3 I only can infer from how they looked at each other. Plus the show alluded to past affections between them, and those affections were the main drive of her actions. When she found out that the Yu prince dad died and he took that spot she was happy for him. She didn’t give a crap that her clan leader died she just cared that he ascended to the position and also wanted her son to be an envoy to him. But that’s legit the only way she could show her devotion to him🥲

我一開始也是覺得乾隆不應該質疑如懿，但想想，我們是局外人，當然看得透如懿和凌雲徹是清白的，但在愛情中，吃醋與沒安全感都在所難免，即使乾隆有面子問題，但他一直疑心如懿，不就是一直在暗示我很沒安全感嗎？加上有其他人挑撥，那乾隆會發飆失心瘋也是合理，這時我就更同意愉妃的做法，雖然處死是一個方式，但其實意義上就是給乾隆安全感，如果如懿刻意的遠離凌雲徹，對凌雲徹更冷淡些，目的不是過河拆橋，而是為了家庭與丈夫，可能也不至於讓夫妻關係惡化至此

From what I remember it seemed to be implied they were to be married (and that she truly loved the Yu Prince) but then the decree from the Palace came in that she was to be sent to the Palace as the Yu clan's 'offering' of wife choice.
